EDUCATIONAL NOTICE
Counseling for Selection of Candidates for Provisional Admission into 1st semester of BE/B. Tech
Courses in the following Engineering Colleges/Institutions of Assam for the session 2015-16
(Through CEE-2015).
A. Government Institutions:
1. Assam Engineering College, Guwahati, 2) Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat, 3) Jorhat Institute
of Science And Technology, Jorhat, 4) Bineswar Brahma Engineering College, Kokrajhar
B. Other Institutions:
a) Gauhati University, Guwahati, b) Girijananda Choudhury Institute of Management and
Technology, Guwahati, c) Girijananda Choudhury Institute of Management and Technology,
Tezpur, (PPP Mode), d) Royal School of Engineering and Technology, Guwahati, e) N.I.T.S.

Note: In additions to the above mentioned institutes, Counseling for admission into other institutes
permitted by Govt. of Assam will also be held.
I.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES

1. The candidates who have appeared in the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE-2015) held in
May-2015 conducted by Dibrugarh University with Merit Marks listed below are to appear in an
interview as per following schedule :
Venue: Auditorium of Assam Engineering College, Jalukbari, Guwahati- 13
1. 1st round of counseling : Date:
2nd July 2015 to 6th July 2015
Final Admission /Reporting Date in Institution (Allotted): 10th - 11th
July, 2015, failing which candidates will forfeit his/her seat.
2. 2nd round of counseling : Date (Tentative): 27th - 28th July/2015 (If
vacancy arises)
Final Admission/ Reporting Date (Tentative) in Institution (Allotted):
30th July, 2015, failing which candidates will forfeit his/her seat.
2. Candidates seeking admission will have to appear before an Admission cum- Interview Board
for Provisional selection on the date and time shown against the category-wise list given below.
Candidates applying under various reserved categories have to produce the appropriate
certificates in original before the Board from the Competent Authority of each category as
stated in Form-B/Prospectus. All candidates must bring the Form-B with them duly and
properly filled in. Original mark sheet, 4 copies of recent passport size photographs and all
other relevant certificates including Admit Card of Combined Entrance Examination-2015 (CEE2015) for scrutiny by the Interview Board. All the attested copies of documents are to be signed
by the candidates on the front side of the documents.

-23. The Merit list under different reserved categories is prepared by the Examination Authority on
the basis of the information furnished by the candidates in Form-A of the information brochure
and On-line Application Form for CEE-2015. The candidates selected under various categories
should come for interview only if they posses eligibility certificate issued by Competent
Authority for the relevant category as prescribed in the Information Brochure and Application
Form-2015.
4. The College and Branch of Engineering will be decided by the Board on the basis of Merit Marks
of the candidates in Combined Entrance Examination -2015 (CEE-2015) and preference of the
Candidates depending on the availability of seats in the College/Branch. The candidates
provisionally selected in Government Engineering Colleges will have to take admission on the
same date by Paying Rs. 1,400/- (Rupees one thousand four hundred) only in cash. This fees
includes the Government Fee only.
5. After Admission, the Marksheet of the 12th Examination of the candidate will be retained by the
respective College for a period of 6 (six) months. Candidates may take the marksheet
temporarily from the Principal of the admitted college by filling a declaration Form and signing
a joint undertaking by the candidate and his/her parent/guardian. In case the document is not
returned within the permitted period (7 days) the seat of the candidate will be forfeited and the
seat will be filled up from the Candidates in the Waiting list in the next allotment.
6. Candidates belonging to reserved categories are also placed in General Category list in
respective positions. These candidates may also report on the date of General Category
Counseling. However, if a candidate takes admission in a particular category he/she will
not be allowed to take admission in the next category even if his /her Roll No. appeared
in that category.
7. All candidates will have to pay Rs. 600/- (Rupees six hundred) only as counseling charge at the
time of counseling.
8. In case of dispute in any respect, the decision of the Chairman/Chairperson will be final and
binding.
NOTE :

(i) Clause No.-6 (c) of the Information Booklet will be applicable for candidates
securing same score in the CEE-2015.
(ii) After the first Round of Counseling, the next counseling may be arranged
depending on the availability of seats in each of the categories. The starting marks
for the next counseling will be from the last marks of CEE-2015 admitted in the
Assam Engineering College, Guwahati, Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat, Jorhat
Science and Technology, Jorhat and Bineswar Brahma Engineering College,
Kokrajhar.
(iii) If a candidate is absent on the day of counseling, he/she will not be considered
in the subsequent counseling (if any) under any circumstances and such request
will not be entertained at Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.
