Silva,
This week we were primarily focused on collecting and analyzing research for detection methods. We
were able to categorize detection of the human FOV into 3 types, and we have constructed a pugh chart
to see which will be most successful for our project.
Next week we will be focusing on research of different attenuation methods for our project. We will
similarly create a pugh chart to determine which provides most value to our project.
Additionally, we have a skype meeting with Zimin scheduled later this afternoon, to present our weeks
findings and consult/collaborate with him on how we should move forwards.
Thanks,
Evan Kwok, Matt Kramer, Evan Wilder

* Wireless EoG
2 of 7
-EoG detects movement of the eye dipole to determine eye position
-ROI definition would be based on eye position, rather than a target area in space
(likely less accurate)
-Somewhat invasive (electrodes attached to face)
-Relatively inexpensive ($100-$200) for cheaper models
-Would require a micro-controller
-May require bluetooth to eliminate cables
-Dynamic response; lag not determined by how often a camera captures images
-Compatible with desktop worspace (pencil and paper tasks)

Detection" (EOG Wireless Monitoring in Dropbox)

-Would capture video using an HD camera (GoPro or similar product), then process
images using detection algorithms
-Various algorithms available to identify objects in space
-Relatively inexpensive ($100-$300) for cheapest models
-Available in 1920x1080 resolution (1080p)
-Lag determined by speed of image processing and frames captured per second
(approx 30Hz in cheaper models)
-Compatible with desktop worspace (pencil and paper tasks)
