Single Flight Standard Pitch
Double Flight Standard Pitch
Conveyor screws with pitch

spacing equal to the diameter
are considered standard and
are suitable for most conveyors
of conventional horizontal
design.
Double flight produce a

smooth gentle flow of certain
materials; are recommended
for augers or post hole digging
and similar applications.
Single Flight Half Pitch

Half pitch conveyors are
recommended for inclined or
vertical conveying and for
materials which are very free
flowing.
Single Flight Variable Pitch

Flights with pitch progressively
increased are used to draw
fine, free flowing materials
uniformly from the entire length
of the feed opening.
Single Flight Short Pitch

Short pitch screws are
recommended for inclines over
20 degrees slope to vertical
conveying. They retard flushing
of free flowing materials.
Single Tapered Flight Standard Pitch

Tapering flight screws are
generally recommended to
draw friable lumpy materials
from bins or hoppers.

rod shanks inserted through
the pipe. Conveying action can

paddle angle. Excellent for
stirring, blending or mixing dry
or fluid materials.

FLIGHT THICKNESS
Nolu Flight Edging is a proven product which adds

to the life of a screw conveyor assembly.
In short length conveyors with a single center hanger bearing, the
introduction of Nolu Flight Edging can often eliminate the need for
this bearing. The Flight Edging rests lightly in the trough and a cleaner
assembly is created. UV stabilizers are added to this UHMW
thermoplastic extrusion to increase the service life in outdoor use.
The edging is easily installed and replaced if necessary. The edging
is first wound along the pipe supporting the flights. Then, the first
few inches are forced over one end of the flight and the remainder
is progressively tapped into place. The
leading edge of the material is usually
pinned to ensure the Flight Edging
does not work its way down the length
of the screw.
Nolu Flight Edging is extruded in
continuous lengths, gradually forming
into circular configuration for screws
ranging in diameter from 6 up to 24.

Advantages of using Nolu Flight Edging include:

With edging installed close to the trough surface in inclined conveyor systems,
fall back of fine particle products is significantly reduced
Due to reduced fall back, the material remaining in the screw is minimal and
the subsequent clean out of the conveyor is reduced
When hanger bearings can be eliminated and a continuous
screw used, the flow of product will be vastly improved
The use of UV stabilizers has resulted in prolonged
use in outdoor applications exposed to sunlight
The use of Flight Edging protects the screw
from damage when handling abrasive
products
