simple! Start
thinking and assembling now how would you
be represented? Wreaths will be displayed all

OCTOBER COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

The St. Johns Council October meeting focused
on preparing information and items for the annual
congregational meeting in January. One item is the
budget for 2017. The Finance Committee presented
an initial budget for council reaction. The council will
suggest changes at the November meeting.
Council members approved the creation of the use
of a Legacy Fund to receive gifts and donations for
the long-term benefit of the church and annual
budget. More information and the set of by-laws will
be presented to the congregation in time for
consideration at the annual meeting.
The congregation will also be asked to ratify some
changes to the constitution at the January
congregational meeting. Some changes in wording are
required based on action taken at the ELCA
Churchwide Assembly. Optional changes will be
brought to the November meeting for council action.
Additional items included a proposed safety and
energy audit, Stewardship temple talks, and vacancies
to fill on the council, Benefaction Board and proposed
Legacy Fund Board.
A complete copy of the minutes is available
outside the church office or by mailing or emailing the
church office.

Bring one of these

things!
