He was implicated along with 12 other sikhs in. the case offhe murder on ' 13th January 1933 of a poojari by reason 'ofnisposition' among the reformist· Sikhs who continued t6' be the object of the ire of·the troditional poojaris divested of tne'coriir6l of the Sikh shrines.' -He and the other twelve accused were~vittilaUy retrieved from tbeigallows by Maharaja Bbnpinder S'lngh's iiltetVention.
