NBAR2 Protocol Update


For more details on the NBAR2 protocol pack update in Prime Infrastructure, please refer to NBAR

System Requirements
Install the Device Packs on a server running Cisco Prime Infrastructure version 2.0 with pi_update_2.0-3
Update patch.

Device Packs Installation

You can install the Device Packs in one of two ways:


From Cisco.com. See Installing the Device Packs from cisco.com.
From a local storage. See Installing the Device Packs from Local Storage.

Installing the Device Packs from cisco.com

Log in to the Prime Infrastructure 2.0 server.


Choose Administration > Software Update.
Click Check for Updates.
Log in with your cisco.com credentials to check for updates directly from the Prime
Infrastructure server.
5. Select pi_dev_pack_update_2.0-25.ubf.
6. Click Install to install the Device Packs.
7. Restart the Cisco Prime Infrastructure server to complete the installation process.

Installing the Device Packs from Local Storage


1. Log in to Prime Infrastructure 2.0 server.
2. Choose Administration > Software Update.
3. Click Upload Update File.

4. Click Browse and locate the pi_dev_pack_update_2.0-25.ubf file.


5. Click Install to install the Device Packs.
6. Restart the Cisco Prime Infrastructure server to complete the installation process.
Note: You do not need to issue a restart immediately. However, the Device Packs will not work until
the Prime Infrastructure server is restarted.
Note: If you previously added a device that is newly supported in this Device Packs, you need to
delete the device from Prime Infrastructure and then add it again.

Caveats

Port Count and Port Summary information shows incorrect values for Nexus 3064, Nexus 6004,
ACE4710, ASR1002, SB300 and Catalyst 6807 devices.
The Software Image Management feature is not supported for Nexus 3064, Nexus 6004, Nexus 3548.
When the 2960X and 2960+ family of switches are set up in a stacking mode, the device family shows up
as Cisco Catalyst 2960S.

Feature details not coming in Image Recommendations


When you choose Operate > Device Work Center and select a
Cisco ASR1002X device, the Features information under the
Image tab is not displayed
You cannot schedule a configuration archive job on Cisco
Catalyst 3560 and Cisco Catalyst 2960x devices. Choose
Operate > Device Work center.
On switch stacks, when the "Erase Flash Before Distribution"
option is enabled, PI only erases the flash on the master. The
flash on the members are not erased. PI should erase the flash
on all the switches in the stack when the "Erase Flash Before
Distribution" option is enabled
PI sets a wrong boot variable when distributing a tar image on
a stacked switch. When distributing a tar image, the image is

located in a directory. PI does not include this directory in the


boot variable
If you upgrade IOS firmware on a device using tar image, older
tar images will be also removed even though you unselect
"Erase Flash Before Distribution" option in the Prime
Infrastructure UI
Operate -> Software Image Management page, CAT 5700 and
CAT 3850 shows wrong image family as CAT4500E
PI 2.0 cannot import s72033-ipbase-mz.151-2.SY1.bin images.
job result shows Image collection from source: success Copy
Image to staging location: success Copy Image to Repository:
Failure.
PI 2.0 failing image import with the reason "Copying Image to
Repository FAILURE".
For Upgrade Analysis and Image recommendation on CAT4500
with SUP7, Prime Infrastructure is fetching regular IOS list (for
other supervisors) instead of IOS-XE list for SUP7
You cannot rollback or overwrite configuration archives if you
are using the rollback and overwrite feature.. Rollback fails if
reboot is enabled. Rollback is partially successful if you do not
have reboot enabled.

Summary

select an archive, then click Rollback, the job state is "partial
success" because of the speed configuration
The UDI and Model Number for the Cisco ACE 4710 module do not
appear on the Device Details > System > Summary page.

Cisco ASR 1K device, Port Summary ( Under Device Details >
Summary ) , Modules & Physical Ports (Under Device details) are

Import. Under Image Recommendation, Cisco IOS XE version are

The IP address configured on an interface does not appear in the
device details table. Choose Operate > Device Work Center, then
