ADVANTAGE OF PORTLAND

SLAG CEMENT (PSC) OVER

CEMENTS

OTHER

The heat evolved on reacting with water in the course of hydration is

very less which makes the concrete unaffected by the expansion
caused by heat making the cement highly suitable for mass concreting.
It has got very high soundness and is unaffected by change in weather
or climatic condition making the cement truly cosmopolitan without
having fear of surface or internal cracks.
The highly segmented capillaries with less pore dia makes the passes
of air or water inside concrete impossible which gives uniqueness of
being proof from any seepage or attack on concrete especially in metro
like Kolkata.
The pollutant gases in air and alkalies or chlorides present in soil
always damages the concrete and reduces its life. PSC have been
introduced with total immunity system towards any chemical attacks.
Apart from giving strength concrete structure added with assured
durability and practically maintenance /repair free for ages.
It has immunity towards all the concrete poisoning elements present in
water thus making most suitable for use in coastal area.
PSC shows a low alkali aggregate reactivity.
PSC cement helps to combat corrosion. Its special formulation
generates less heat while mixing with water .Hence fewer pores are
formed in the concrete ,making it nearly impossible for pollutants to
enter and corrode the steel bars. Additionally an internal chemical
reaction displaces the existing few pores and creates a denser
concrete and longer lasting structure.
Ultimate compressive strength surpassing 53 grade OPC.
Optimum setting time with extraordinary high ultimate strength.
Generates lesser heat of hydration compared to OPC which ensures
minimal cracks in the concrete.
Concrete produced is highly dense and is more resistant to
atmospheric pollutants.
Produces concrete mix that is easy to use even with low water cement
ratio and gives extra fine surface finish.
