Spiritual Gifts (Charisma) are special graces that
are given to a believer through the active work of
the Holy Spirit
The main places in the Bible where we learn about
Spiritual Gifts are:

BIBLICAL FACTS
1. You have at least one Spiritual Gift
( 1 Peter 4:10 )
2. You do not have all the gifts
( 1 Corinthians 12:28-30 )
3. We cannot choose our gifts; God does that

4. There is no gift that everyone possesses

BIBLICAL GUIDELINES
1. Usage of the gift(s) submits to Biblical authority
2. There is affirmation and positive feedback within
the Body of Christ for the expression of the gift
3. There is agreement within the Body of Christ that
the Holy Spirit is at work
4. The Holy Spirit provides peace in our spirits as we
offer our gift(s) to the Body of Christ

6. Believers offer their gifts for the common good
as others have need
7. Unless gifts are offered in love, they have no
worth
8. We should abide in Christ to live a life worthy of
our calling and gifts

SPIRITUAL GIFTS
Building up of the body of Christ
Ephesians 4:12

ADMINISTRATION
The special aptitude God gives to steer the body
toward the accomplishment of God-given goals and
directives by planning, organizing, and supervising
others.
You may have this gift if you:
- develop strategies to reach identified goals
- assist ministries to become more effective and efficient
- manage or coordinate a variety of responsibilities to accomplish a task

APOSTLE
The special aptitude God gives to exercise general
oversight over multiple of gatherings with an authority
in spiritual matters and vision for the global Church.
You may have this gift if you:
- pioneer and establish new ministries or churches
- desire to minister to unreached people in other communities or countries
- demonstrate authority and vision for the mission of the church

SINGLENESS
The special aptitude God gives to voluntarily
remain single without regret and with the ability
to maintain control over sexual desire so as to
serve the Lord without distraction.
You may have this gift if you:
- remain single to be devote completely to ministry
- have other gifts that are able to used more effectively

CRAFTSMANSHIP
The special aptitude to create artistic expressions that
produce a spiritual response of strength and inspiration
as well as to create, build, maintain, or repair items
used within the church.
You may have this gift if you:
- work tools with wood, cloth, paint, metal, glass, and other raw materials
- design and build tangible items and resources for ministry use
- use drama, writing, art, music, dance, etc. to communicate God's truth

DISCERNMENT
The special aptitude God gives to know with assurance
whether certain behavior or teaching is from God,
Satan, human error, and/or human power.
You may have this gift if you:
- distinguish truth from error, right from wrong, pure motives from impure
- recognize inconsistencies in teaching, prophetic message, interpretation
- sense the presence of evil and demonic activity

ENCOURAGEMENT
The special aptitude God gives to offer comfort,
words of encouragement, hope, and reassurance to
discouraged, weak, or troubled people in such a
way that they are consoled.
You may have this gift if you:
- come to the side of those who are discouraged to reassure them
and give them hope
- emphasize God's promises and confidence in his will

EVANGELISM
The special aptitude God gives to communicate the
gospel of salvation effectively so that people respond
in faith to the promises of Christ.
You may have this gift if you:
- communicate the message of Christ with clarity and conviction
- seek out opportunities to talk to unbelievers about spiritual things
- challenge unbelievers to faith as fully devoted followers of Christ

EXHORTATION
The special aptitude God gives to help strengthen
weak, faltering, and fainthearted Christians in such a
way that they are motivated to be all God wants
them to be.
You may have this gift if you:
- come to the side of those who are weak in spirit to strengthen them
- challenge or confront others to trust and hope in the promises of God
- urge others to action by applying Biblical truth

FAITH
The special aptitude God gives to be firmly persuaded
of God's power and promises to accomplish His will
and purpose that circumstances and obstacles do not
shake that conviction.
You may have this gift if you:
- believe the promises of God and inspire others to do the same
- act in complete confidence of God's ability to overcome obstacles
- risk to advance the cause of Christ when others would delay

GIVING
The special aptitude God gives to respond to
provision by generously, sacrificially, and cheerfully
giving of one's resources without thought of return.
You may have this gift if you:
- manage finances and limit expenses to give as much of as possible
- support ministry with sacrificial gifts to advance the Kingdom
- have a special ability to make money to further God's work

HEALING
The special aptitude God gives to serve as a human
instrument to cure illness and restore health
(physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually)
apart from the use of natural means.
You may have this gift if you:
- demonstrate the power of God and His word through healing
- bring restoration to the sick and diseased
- pray, touch, or speak words that miraculously bring healing

HELPS
The special aptitude God gives to work gladly behind
the scenes in order to serve the life and ministry of
other members of the body enabling them to increase
their effectiveness.
You may have this gift if you:
- see the tangible and practical things to be done and enjoy doing them
- sense God's purpose and pleasure in meeting every day responsibilities
- enjoy freeing up others to do what God has called them to do

HOSPITALITY
The special aptitude God gives to provide an open
home and warm welcome to those in need of food,
lodging, and fellowship for the sake of the Gospel.
You may have this gift if you:
- create an environment where people feel valued and cared for
- meet new people and help them to feel welcomed
- seek ways to connect people together into meaningful relationships

INTERCESSION
The special aptitude God gives to pray for extended
periods of time on a regular basis and see frequent
and specific answers to their prayers.
You may have this gift if you:
- feel compelled to earnestly pray on behalf of someone or some cause
- have a daily awareness of the spiritual battles being waged
- exercise authority and power for the protection of others and the
equipping of them to serve

KNOWLEDGE
The special aptitude God gives to understand the
great truths of God's Word and to make them
relevant to specific situations in the church.
You may have this gift if you:
- receive truth which enables you to better serve the body
- search the scriptures for insight, understanding, and truth
- have an unusual insight or understanding that helps the church

LEADERSHIP
The special aptitude God gives to create and cast
vision, motivate, and direct people to
harmoniously accomplish the purposes of God.
You may have this gift if you:
- provide powerful direction for God's people or ministry
- influence others to perform to the best of their abilities
- take responsibility to establish goals for Gods purposes

COMPASSION
The special aptitude God gives to empathize for
those who are suffering (physically, mentally, or
emotionally) speak words of compassion, and care
for them with acts of love.
You may have this gift if you:
- focus upon alleviating the sources of pain and loneliness in people
- express love, grace, and dignity to those facing hardships and crisis
- are passionately concerned with social issues that oppress people

MIRACLES
The special aptitude God gives to perform acts of
supernatural power that are recognized by others to
have altered the ordinary course of nature and
authenticated the divine commission.
You may have this gift if you:
- speak God's truth and may have it authenticated by a miracle
- express confidence in God's faithfulness to manifest Christ's presence
- bring the ministry and message of Jesus Christ with power

MISSIONARY
The special aptitude God gives to effectively
minister in another culture in fulfillment of the
Great Commission around the world.
You may have this gift if you:
- have an intense burden for specific people in the world
- adapt core Biblical principles to different surroundings by being
culturally sensitive and aware
- love people of different ethnicity, language, or culture

MUSIC
The special aptitude God gives to present personal
witness to glorify God and inspire others through
instrumental music, singing, or dancing.
You may have this gift if you:
- experience special joy singing praises to God, either alone or
leading other people

- encourage others through singing or playing an instrument

PASTORING
The special aptitude God gives to assume a personal
responsibility for leadership and the spiritual care,
protection, guidance, and teaching of believers.
You may have this gift if you:
- take responsibility to nurture the whole person in their walk with God
- provide guidance, oversight and protection to a community of God's
people
- model what it means to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus

POVERTY
The special aptitude God gives to purposely live an
impoverished lifestyle to serve and aid others with
their material resources and serve God more
effectively.
You may have this gift if you:
- voluntarily choose to live among people with low income
- live at poverty level while having the means to live at a higher standard
- choose this lifestyle in order to minister more effectively to people
through identification

PROPHECY
The special aptitude God gives to proclaim the Word
of God with clarity and to apply it fearlessly as God's
revelation in a given situation.
You may have this gift if you:
- expose sin or deception in others for the purpose of reconciliation
- speak a timely word from God causing conviction, repentance, and
edification
- see truth that others often fail to see and challenge them to respond

TEACHING
The special aptitude God gives to explain the truths
of the Word of God clearly and to apply them
effectively so that those taught understand and
learn causing greater Christ-likeness.
You may have this gift if you:
- communicate biblical truth that inspires obedience to the Word
- challenge listeners simply and practically with the truths of scripture
- focus on changing lives by helping others understand the Bible better

TONGUES (INTERPRETING)
The special aptitude God gives to translate the
message of one who speaks in tongues for the
benefit of the entire body.
You may have this gift if you:
- express an interpretation of a word by the Spirit which edifies
believers
- enable the gift of tongues to build up the church by interpreting
Gods message for the people
- receive impressions or messages when a tongue is given

TONGUES (SPEAKING)
The special aptitude God gives to speak prayer or
praise in a language they have never learned or to
communicate a message from God to His people.
You may have this gift if you:
- receive a spontaneous message from God which is shared to His
body and understood through the gift of interpretation
- speak in a language you have never learned and do not understand
- worship the Lord with unknown words too deep for the mind to
comprehend

WISDOM
The special aptitude God gives to receive insight on
what solutions are best to individuals or the
community for proper decision making and daily life
situations.
You may have this gift if you:
- receive specific and timely impressions of what is necessary to meet
the needs of the body
- provide divinely given solutions in the midst of conflict and confusion
- hear the Spirit provide direction for God's best in a given situation

WRITING
The special aptitude God gives to express truth in
a written form to edify, instruct and strengthen
the community of believers.
You may have this gift if you:
- write stories, sermons, devotions, histories, prayers, songs, or
poetry to be used to build up the body of Christ
- teach God's word to others through writing
- better express thoughts in written form than verbal

1. Do not question your experience on the
retreat - allow it to build on your faith
2. Do not focus on the gifts - focus on God the
gift giver
3. Do not look down on others who didnt come
to the retreat - invite them in
4. Do not remain silent - share your gifts and
experience with friends and family

5. Do not compare or envy gifts in others rejoice and celebrate with them
6. Do not forget love - gifts are temporary but
love is eternal
7. Do not settle for this level - pursue greater
levels of supernatural aptitude
8. Do not disconnect spiritual and mental role both are need for mutual edification

LIVE OUT YOUR IDENTITY


nGifts are activated in the first step of faithful
obedience. So take risks together
nYou can call out dormant gifts in others at
church, school, home, etc.
nPeople will say, God is among you!
n Keep being filled by the Holy Spirit each day,
fanning into flame the gift God has given you
