Daily Devo:
Since the beginning of time, God has established
different seasons to take place here on earth and
also in our lives. However, even though when we
know we have to walk through various seasons,
they are not always easy to accept and embrace.
Perhaps youve been in a really difficult season
with your health or your finances. Maybe the
season youre in emotionally is good, but you
worry how long it will last and if theres a big
trial headed your way. Perhaps youre in the
process of pushing through something difficult,

woman who desires to embrace and learn what
God has for her to learn in the season shes in.
From the most challenging seasons to the best
ones of your life, it is our prayer that you are
reminded that you are comforted by the
beautiful truth that according to Gods Word,
here is a time and a season for everything in the

constantly worry because you know that no
matter the season, every moment of your life,
you are in His arms.

These are the words of a woman in the town of

Shuman, whose current situation didnt exactly
seem to reflect, All is well. Years before, the
prophet Elisha had prophesied that she would
have a son. One year later, she did. However, the
boy grew older and, one day, while out in the
field with his father, he took ill and suddenly
died. Right after this happened, the prophet
Elisha had come around again. He asked the
woman about her well-being and the well-being
of her child. Despite the devastating tragedy that
had just taken place, of all the things the woman
could have answered Elisha with, she told him,
All is well. The prophet Elisha responded in a
miraculous wayhe brought the boy back to
life. The woman fell to Elishas feet in reverent
awe and then went to embrace her son. When
youre faced with tragedy in your life, are you
able to say, All is well?

So often times, when people use the phrase,

"You've changed," they mean it negatively.
However, in Christ, change is not negative at all
but completely life-altering, in the best way
possible.
Following Jesus isn't about looking better than
others, rather its about shining brighter so that
others can see just how life-changing it is when
you make the point to follow Him. Its not about
showing off to the world how good of a
Christian you can be. Truthfully, we are all
sinners in need of a Savior.
So when it comes to those seasons of your life
that God used to teach you and shape you, dont
be ashamed of the transformation that has taken
place in your life. Dont be afraid to share how
God delivered you from the heartbreak or the
rejection with other believers. Dont be ashamed
to tell your story and to talk about that difficult
season of your life that God brought you
through.

Are you able to know deep down in your soul

that everything is fine, even though it doesnt

Seasons are so much more than just something
that we go through, but a chance to know God
more than ever. It is a moment for glorifying
Him by making Him first and by letting Him be
in charge with the things that are going on in our

Daily Devo:
In todays passage, the woman in story is not named,
but for this devotional, we will call her Ava.
In Biblical times when women had their monthly
cycles, they were considered unclean. For Ava, this
was even more of a challenge because her bleeding
never stopped. Ostracized from the community, she
was depressed. However, when she heard the news
about Jesus and the miracles he performed, she knew
she had to touch him. In her plight, Ava realizes that
she must fight her way through the crowd to get to
him. And with the crowd pressing in, she could only
manage to reach out and touch the hem of his robe.
Who touched Me? Jesus asked (verse 45).
In that moment, everyone denies it, but Jesus knows
who touched Him. He knew that someone had
deliberately touched him for he had felt his healing
power go from him. Ava, realizing that she couldnt
stay hidden any longer begins to tremble falls to her
knees in front of him.
Avas story ends beautifully, when Jesus saying to her:
Daughteryour faith has made you well, Go in
peace.
What area of your life do you need a fresh touch
from Jesus?
According to a study by Dr. Michelle Bengtson in her
book Hope Prevails, depression affects over 9 million
women and is the leading cause of disability of
women. She shares in her book that there is a
spiritual component, Only when I started to
understand what depression does to us spiritually, as
well as what it cannot do, and then started
cooperating with God did, I finally begin to
experience the chains of depression falling off.

Zechariah 4:10

Daily Reading:
Ecclesiastes 3:11

Daily Reading:
Mark 4:21-22

Daily Devo:
Today's verse is a part of one of the eight visions
that God gave to the prophet Zechariah when He
revealed to Zechariah His plan for Israel. This
vision here was about Zerubbabel, who was the
head of the tribe of Judah, who was to rebuild the
temple in Jerusalem. What's important to know
about this temple is that, while it was important
for the temple to be built, it didn't happen right
away. The foundation was laid down, but it wasn't
until years later that the temple was finished. This
vision, and this verse, are both so important in
revealing God's plan for this temple, but also for
Israel. In the New Testament, God reveals His
plans for us by sending His son Jesus Christ to die
for us, granting to those who believe, eternal life
(John 3:16). This means that God has been doing
a great work in His people for a long time...and
through Jesus, we're a part of this beautiful truth.
Like Zerubbabel, maybe you laid down the
foundation of something in your life and it's been
a long time, but still, nothing has happened.
Maybe it seems like the seeds youve planted
should have grown by now or the people you
poured into should have yielded some kind of
results. Whatever it is, no matter how small the
actions youve taken and no matter how small the
seeds are that you have sown, God is not
overlooking them. He doesnt despise small
beginnings. He doesnt despise those who lay the
foundation and it takes years for the project to
come into fruition. So if God doesnt despise this,
this we shouldnt either! Whether youre laying the
foundation or youre watering seeds that were
planted long ago, keep trusting that whatever God
is building or rebuilding is worth it to wait on His
perfect timing.

Daily Devo:
Seasons. They come and go, and there are often
clear signs when this physical transition is taking
place: a change in temperature, foliage, or
precipitation. Likewise, in life's seasons, there are
clear signs when seasons are changing: spiritually,
emotionally, or physically.

Daily Devo:
When you think of fall do you think of flowers, or
do you think of cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice
lattes? Its a time of harvesting. Even the full moon
every September is known as the Harvest
Moon. In fall brightly colored leaves on the trees
light up the skyline just like tulips add splashes of
color to the ground in spring. Fall is a time of
harvesting, but its also a time of planting. If you
want to have beautiful tulips in spring, you have to
plant the bulbs in fall. Tulips need to be planted
deeply and have months of cold temperatures so
they can bloom. While summer crops need plenty
of attention to make sure they grow, tulips are
rather independent little things. Its easy to see the
growth process in summer. People fuss and tend
carefully to their crops. Tulips have to go it alone
in secret with no outside help. Once theyre
planted, theyre often forgotten about until spring
when suddenly a blanket of orange, red, yellow,
and purple covers the ground. Can you think of a
time when you felt cold, alone, and buried? No
one was celebrating your little victories. They were
waiting for the final outcome. Maybe youre there
now. All you want is to have someone see you and
encourage you. Always remember youre not
alone, and Someone does see you. In every season
God sees every tiny detail, and He celebrates your
hard work and victories. He knows what is done in
secret will be brought out into the light. Is there
something you want to do or learn? Never stop
planting, even when youre celebrating the current
harvest. If you keep growing in the cold and dark
season, your spring will come. Your light will shine,
and you will bloom with breathtaking beauty for
all the world to see.

I've always had a problem with letting go; staying

in a particular season past its "due date. This has
been partly due to comfort, but mostly due to fear
of change and the unknown.
I used to ask God to show me what was in store for
me in the next season before completely letting go
of the current one. As I've grown in my
relationship with Him, I've learned that He does
not always work that way. Instead, He gives me
just enough light to take the next step as opposed
to showing me the entire path. I've also learned
that this is for my own good: If I were to see the
entire path, I might get scared or may try to take
shortcuts when there is undeniably beauty and
purpose in the process.
His word says that He makes "all things beautiful
in its time". He operates according to His timeline,
not mine. He operates according to His seasons,
not mine.... and this is for my own good because
He sees from beginning to the end and wants the
best for me.

One of the many amazing things about God is that He knows your needs
before you do and He is faithful to provide. As a newlywed, I have
encountered a new season in my life of learning and growing. And while
marriage is a beautiful and fun journey, this season brings some new
struggles, as well. Things like bills, finding a place to live, changing your
name, and merging two completely separate lives into one family is exciting
but also stressful! But our God sees our needs ahead of time and He blesses
us over and over again with jobs to pay our bills, a house for us to share,
and a family to help us along the way. God continually meets my needs in
this season of change and newness. He knows the needs I will have in the
next season, and He will be faithful to meet those as they come! Whether
you are engaged, newly married, single, or even a new mom and worried
about the future and being put in a "new" situation, know that God is
already there working on putting things and people into place to meet your
needs. Be encouraged today knowing God is faithful to provide!

Daily Devo:
Have you ever found yourself in a place where
what once seemed easy is no longer working for
you? Its like trying to wear your favorite sandals
while walking through 2 feet of snow. Your once
comfortable shoes that were cool and made it
easy to walk are suddenly useless, and youre
getting frostbite. Those favorite sandals werent
always your favorite shoes. Chances are you had
to break them in, and that was uncomfortable.
They may have even replaced a previous favorite
pair. Yet you kept walking knowing it was
necessary and worth it so you enjoy the summer
season. Its ok to forget about those sandals you
love and try out a new pair of boots once the
seasons change. They may feel strange at first,
but eventually theyre comfortable, they protect
you, and help you walk. A new season usually
means changing what you once did. Thats a
good thing! It means youve grown. When you
enter a new season, you need to let the old
season go. That includes not just the things you
didnt like, but also what you loved. If youre
looking back and hanging on, youll never be
able to walk in the destiny God has for you right
now. Paul says in Philippians to forget what is
behind and press on. Change can be
uncomfortable, but its worth it. You might not
be at your final destination yet, but to get there
youll have to do some things differently. You
cant hold on to what you dont need. You have
to focus on the season in front of you and what
you need now. When you surrender your will
and way of doing things to Gods plan and what
Hes giving you now, it becomes much easier to
keep pressing on in your current season. If you
place your life in Gods hands, youll discover just
how quickly something uncomfortable and new
becomes something good and enjoyable.

Daily Devo:
Can you think of a time that was so good in your
life you wish you could repeat it? Is it something
from childhood when your biggest worry was
trying to get the good swing at the playground?
Do you long for your teenage years when you
enjoyed the freedom of hanging out with
friends? Perhaps its when you first started a job,
and it seemed new and exciting. When you
reminisce that season may seem perfect,
especially compared to where you are now.
Think a little more. What happened if you were
the last one to the playground? Were you left out
completely? Did you sometimes come home in
tears because of a fight with friends? As a teen
did you feel lost at times wondering who you
were and where you fit in the world? When you
started your job were you nervous every day?
Did you worry about everything from your outfit
to knowledge of the tasks at hand because you
wanted make a good impression? Theyre good
memories, but no season is ever 100% perfect.
Seasons on the calendar are like that too. In
winter you may long for warm summer days to
spend outside, but you forget the sweltering heat
and humidity that forces you inside seeking air
condition. On those miserable days in summer
you long for fall weather so you can cool off.
Many people have a favorite time of year, but
there is always something you wish you could
change. So what do you do when you realize
there are bad things in even the best seasons?
Live in the present. Theres nothing wrong with
looking forward to the future, but savor every
good moment in the present. If something is
going wrong, acknowledge the truth of that, but
dont forget to acknowledge all of the good
things around you as well

Many other things change, too.

The people we hang out with, the cities we live
in, the jobs were working, the way that we look
yet, through all the changes, faith, hope and
love remain the same.
In a world of constant change, the one thing that
never changes is who God is, for He is the same
yesterday, today, and forevermore.
Remember this as your eyes fall on to old
photographs from years ago. Remember this as
old memories resurface from the good ol days
before you had a worry in the world. Remember
this as the weather starts to change around you
and you start reflecting on times long ago.
Faith, hope and most importantly, Gods love for
you through Jesus Christ have remained constant
in your life. It might not feel like it at times, but
Gods presence is all around you and it always
has been.

Sometimes when we are in the throes of our life, it is very difficult to see
how God is working in our situation. We do not always understand the
difficult things that happen and how God can possibly use it for his glory.
Moses is a great example of how God prepares us and uses it to show his
amazing love. From his very birth we see God preparing him for his future.
For the first 40 years of his life God used his season of privilege in the
Pharaohs household to educate him. God also ensured that he would hear
the stories of the Hebrew people by placing his mother in his life as his
nanny.
Later in his life we see that Moses time in the wilderness was also a season
that God used in order to prepare him for his future mission. God took
some of his darkest times and taught him truths about Gods provision,
strength and love for his people.
As God revealed to Moses the plan and purpose for his life, he placed the

God is the same God yesterday, today and forever! The God of Moses is

How you choose to react in the season you are in

can make a big difference to you and your faith.
Sometimes, when we are going through a very
tough time, we may find it hard to talk to God
and pour out our heart to him. In the story of
Hannah and her longing for a child we see two
different reactions. For years she was taunted by
Penniah. She lived with a woman who took great
delight in voicing the thoughts that Hannah had
had about being a failure for not having a child.
We read that for a long time she wept about her
problems and refused to eat when things were
especially difficult. One day, however, she did
something different and this forever changed her
outlook. Instead of keeping her hurt, upset and
disappointment to herself, she took it to God.
The scripture says she poured her soul out to
the Lord. She had decided that the only way to
accept the situation she was in was to give it to
God and lay it all bare to him. Even when she
was mistaken as a drunk by the priest, it didnt
stop her praying to the Lord.

Daily Devo:
Today you may be walking through a Lazarus
season, with dreams and desires that have died,
you may feel the Lord will never come to your
rescue, though you have cried out to Him.
Maybe you feel like Martha, known to sit at the
feet of Jesus and in your despair you may turn to
Him for comfort. You may be like Mary, so busy
serving that you neglect to enter into His
presence, and even in your despair, you dont
turn to Him for comfort right away, but when
He calls. Be encouraged with the words Jesus
spoke to Martha before He raised Lazarus from
the dead, "I am the resurrection and the life."
The words that He speak are life. We are not to
be moved by what we see or feel, but instead
we're called to walk by faith, even in the
seemingly impossible. The Lord is not limited by
our time restraints. He doesnt move when we
think He should, He moves in His perfect timing
for He only can see the end from the beginning.
Do you not believe that Jesus is capable of
reviving your heart's desire, whatever that may
be; physical and emotional healing, barren with
a desire for children, a promotion at work that
you keep getting overlooked on, or the husband
you have always wanted but youre still single?
Your Lazarus season may only be for a few days;
a couple of weeks, a month, or perhaps years,
but know that Jesus is the resurrection and life,
and He can turn it around for you. That which
you are facing, is not meant to be unto death but
rather that through it, you may see the glory of
the Lord in your life. In order for the spring
flowers to sprout, they must first go through a
dying and falling away season. Likewise, you
sometimes will have to go through a season of
dying and falling away to position yourself for
Gods perfect will for you. Speak life.

Daily Devo:
It is instilled in most little girls that their biggest
achievements in life will be to go to college, get
married, buy a house, have children, perhaps
even balance a good career on top of all of that
as well. They're led to believe that early twenties
is the best time to start settling down, though late
twenties will do if absolutely necessary.

Hannahs situation didnt instantly change and

she wasnt exempt from difficult times in her life
(you only have to read till the end of the
chapter!) but by changing her perspective and
putting God at the centre, her whole situation
changed.
Maybe today you are in a difficult season and
you need to pour your soul out to the Lord.
Sometimes situations can seem impossible, as a
woman of God struggling with infertility myself,
I can really relate to this. But I also know the
peace, joy and strength that is found through
giving my all to God.

What happens when your life doesn't turn out

like that, and here you are in your thirties, still
single without so much as a prospect? Naturally,
we women start feeling like something's wrong
with us; that we're not good enough, or pretty
enough, and will be alone forever. However, that
couldn't be more further from the truth.
God's in the heart business, His first priority is
addressing the issues of your heart; past hurts,
brokenness, and trust issues to name a few, so
that you're prepared to step into that
relationship. He's not going to give us anything
that's going to ruin us, or take precedence over
Him in our lives. God's not limited by our
resources or time restraints, His timing is always
perfect. On the flip side, maybe your heart is
ready for that relationship, but your soulmate
that God has for you is not ready. Pray, not only
that God will give you the desires of your heart
according to His will, but lift up your future
husband in prayer too, that God will protect and
prepare him for your unity. While you're in your
season of waiting; serve God with all your heart,
mind, and might, taking full advantage of having
ample, uninterrupted time to sit in His presence.

Daily Reading:
Psalm 100

Daily Reading:
Philippians 4:4-7

Daily Reading:
Psalm 91:4

Daily Devo:
Every season brings its own set of colors: some
gold and bright, others burgundy and bittersweet,
while some plain dark and no light. Most seasons
it seems our prayers are full of need, want, and
pleas: petitions for strength through sickness,
guidance in finances or career switches, and
requests for more grace to embrace people. We
can get too consumed with our genuine needs,
and we forget that in every season, there is a
constant.

Daily Devo:
Have you ever found yourself in what feels like a
mountaintop season only to have others try to
diminish how good you feel? Maybe theyre in a
valley and liked it better when you were there too.
Sometimes theyre on a mountaintop just like
you, only it seems like an even higher mountain.
Then you begin to think maybe you shouldnt
celebrate as much as you want to. Youre worried
youll either offend someone or look silly for being
happy when someone else has even more.

Daily Devo:
Has something ever happened to you and the
timing made no sense? Youre in what seems like
a dark and cold season, but suddenly youre
responsible for one more thing. Even if its
something good, it seems impossible and crazy,
but you know its from God.

We can and should always give praise. We can

and should always simply, purely worship.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the
will of God in Christ Jesus for you (I Thess.
5:18).The WILL of God! These are such strong
words! So often we daily come before the Lord
and share with Him our needs, concerns,
worriedand He wants us to! However, we
forget to grab a hold of the joy that comes from
simply sitting in His presence. We forget that is a
privilege not given to all.

Most baby birds are born in spring or summer.

Warm temperatures and abundant food makes
new life easy to nurture. Emperor penguins seem
to have missed that memo. Their chicks hatch in
the middle of winterin Antarctica, the coldest
place on earth. In winter is dark 24 hours a day,
and the temperature averages -75 Fahrenheit.
Food is so scarce that the mothers leave for a 3month long fishing trip while the fathers have
nothing to eat. Yet the fathers must incubate the
eggs, and care for the newborn chicks. The only
thing keeping those eggs and chicks safe and
warm are the feathers from their fathers. Bringing
about fragile new lives during that season seems
to make no sense, but God has a plan. Once
those chicks hatch, the colony of penguins grow
by 30%. Theyre going to need more food.
Fortunately, thats the same time the ice begins to
melt a little. Abundant food is found closer to
home. Penguins cant swim until their adult
feathers come in, and that takes months. Feathers
are protection from the cold. By the time those
baby penguins grow and can fend for themselves,
there is plenty of food, and its easier for new
swimmers to take to the water. If those penguins
were born in spring, theyd need more food and
have to fend for themselves during a time when
food is already scarce. The timing for new life is
perfect. When youre in a cold, dark season and
youre scared, remember your heavenly Father is
there covering you with the protection of His
feathers. His timing may seem strange, but He
has a perfect plan for you.

Its ok to celebrate! The key is how you celebrate.

Paul tells us to Rejoice in the Lord. When you
celebrate, celebrate by praising Him. When you
tell others, its ok to be excited. If they comment
about how good things are going for you, use it as
an opportunity to give God glory. Sometimes we
get afraid to celebrate because we worry it will
look like bragging. Its not, if you do it with the
right heart. These verses tell us to let our
gentleness be evident, and God is near. Be gentle

Daily Reading:
Judges 6:14
Daily Devo:
This past year, I went through a stressful and difficult season in my life at
work. I am a teacher, and had a very challenging bunch of students. I tried
to not only show them math, science, and social studies, but also how to be
polite with each other and work together. There was a lot of crying from
my part when I got in my car to go home at the end of the day, and I had
no motivation to do my job in the way I used to. When I was asked to loop
up with my students, I couldnt believe it. The students were spirited and
all amazing children, but even so, questioned and challenged my authority
often. I just knew I couldnt do it again for another year. I went to my bible
for some clarity and peace, and that is when I came across the story of
Gideon. Gideon was the youngest in his family, and if it was even a thing
back in the Old Testament times, he would have been voted least likely to
succeed. Still God called him to rescue Israel, Go with the strength you
have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!
Gideon replied, How can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the
whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!
The Lord said to him, I will be with you. And you will destroy the
Midianites as if you were fighting against one man. Judges 14-16.
What an amazing reminder. If God is for me, who can be against me? He
is sending me! Sending me with the strength I have within me that is
sufficient, and He will be with me to fill in whatever I am missing. He will
carry me, when I need it, and God will be my strength.

Acts 17:28

Daily Devo:
When Paul (also named Saul) was called to
proclaim the gospel, he was not on the path to do
that at all. In fact, he was going to Damascus
planning to imprison any Christ followers he
could find. But that's the moment God chose to
completely reroute his life.

Daily Devo:
When the Apostle Paul thanked the Church of
Philippi, he was reminding them of the times
when they helped him in his need. God provided
a way for Paul to be taken care of through the
Church of Philippi, even when other groups
didnt see the importance of doing so.

Daily Devo:
In Acts 17, Paul and Silas brought about quite the
stir as they sought to advance the cause of Jesus.
Paul performs a miracle, casting out an evil spirit
from a girl, which in turn leads to a chain of
events that eventually bring the men before the
city court to be beaten in front of the crowds.

If you want to embrace what God has for you,

you have to be ready out of season, even before
you know what it is that He is calling you to do! It
can tempting to say things like, well, I cant step
out on faith in that area of my life yet because I
dont have all of the resources or knowledge yet.
However, even though God uses certain seasons
of our life to prepare us for the future, that
doesnt mean that He cant use us today.

At times it can seem like nothing is coming

through with where you are in your relationships,
your job, finances, or school. But no matter what
needs in your life seem like they are not being met
right now, you have to remember this:

Just because the money isnt there or answers

about your health might be unanswered, that
doesnt mean that God has put a pause on your
life. Just like we see with Paul, Gods hand is in
everythingin every single seasons.
You never know when, where or how He'll use
you, but when He does, what matters is that He
knows exactly what Hes doing. Hes going to lay
out the path for you to head exactly where youre
supposed to be! Be ready to serve Him today!
