First of all,I would like to appreciate my lecturer,Dr Shuisma,for giving me good explaination
on how to write a good report.He explained to me on how to write the reference.With that,I
can follow the guides given by him to fininsh my report based on proper ways.He also told
me where to obtain a good source for reference.
Besides,I would like to thank and appreciate my fellow friends that give a good teamwork to
discuss.Since there are individuals that have same topics given with me,I took this
opportunity to do group discussion to obtain more points beside online researching.

ABSTRACT

Science Stream allows us to go to many fields in occupation.That is the common words

that are said by students and teachers in secondary schools in Malaysia.Nowadays,we can see
that the words are actually true.That is why when students are shying away from science and
the closest related field,engineering,academical professionals are really concerning about
that.According to vice-chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia,Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed
Mustafa Ishak,only 21% of students from secondary schools choose to continue study in this

CHAPTER 1:INTRODUCTION

PROBLEM STATEMENT

What are importances of promoting science,technology and enginnering to school children

and what are challenges that have to be faced in order to promote it?

SCOPE OF STUDY

This report discuss about the requirement of objective,that are importance and challenges to
promote science,technology and enginnering to school children and also provide several
solutions to overcome the challenge.

OBJECTIVE

To discuss the importance of promoting science,technology and engineering to school

children and to determine the challenges of promote the fields.

CHAPTER 2:LITERATURE REVIEW

Science is systematic study of nature,based on observations.It cannot be dealt scientifically if

mans sense cannot observe it,either directly or with instrumental aids. For example, all
speculations concerning ultimate origins are excluded from the lawful domain of science,
since the necessary observations cannot be performed.The closest field to science is
technology.Science and technology is interwined and it is imposible to teach one of them

Technology is application of tools and method.There are several categories of

Enginnering is the application of scientific knowledge to solve the practical problems.For

example,a motor that is not functioned,then it needs engineers to solve it using scientific
knowledge,for example DC and AC knowledge.

CHAPTER 3:METHODOLOGY

GROUP DISCUSSION

This method was done by forming a group that have same topic with me.Through the
discussion,I got some issues that should be concerned,for example environment and the
invention.Although the outcomes are few,they generates my thinking to research more to
finish this report.

ONLINE RESEARCHING

This method helps me to search more about the points that were discussed.For example,I got
relation of science theory with invention,as example the aeroplane.I also got some important
current issues about environment to strengthen the points.Through this method,I also
discovered importance of promoting science,engineering and technology,for example to
discover the outer space.

has suffered from the haze issue.The haze is one of air pollution type.Although the haze is
gone now but we are still facing air pollution.Smoke from chimneys,factories and vehicles

To Produce More Inventions That Can Save Time

Besides,we also promote science,technology and engineering to student for producing more
inventions that can save time.The invention before has prove that science is basic for an
invention.For example,the aeroplane.Generally,we will relate aeroplane with Bernoullis
principle.However,Newtons first law and Newtons third law also involves in lifting an
aeroplane. From Newtons first law we know that for the fluid to bend there must be a force
acting on it. From Newtons third law we know that the fluid must put an equal and opposite

As An Important Thing to Discover Universe

Although it do not gives us financial benefit,still,it it important because it is the knowledge

for a curious man.Science and technology allows human to discover the truth about our
universe,most especially the outer space.Brian Schmidt has discovered that the universe is not

The theory brought Schmidt to win Nobel prize.Besides,there are also another thing about

Other than that,we need the new generation in Malaysia to invent new product that can help
us during disaster.Topmix Permeable,that is one of the company that appears as solution of

Challenges In Promoting Science,Technology and Engineering to School

Children

The Current Condition of Economy

The current condition in Malaysia and world generally will disrupt the force to encourage
student to the field of science,technology and engineering.Currently,the bad economy
position will reduce the chance of getting an occupation from the fields.For
example,Engineers.Schlumberger,a huge company of oil and gas lay off 9000 employees due
to the reduction of oil prices.The oil prices is said to reduce 50% from June 2014 until
January resulting Schlumberger had to reduce their liability.(OIL & GAS FINANCIAL

allow the employees from other country to work here and reduce chance of locals.
However,there are always ways to overcome this challenge.We can promote to the children
by TPPA agreement,although reducing chances to get work locally,there are less obstacles for
them to work overseas with more prestigious companies.

The Safety Issues

Besides,the safety issues will make the parents to encourage and brainwash their children to
prevent from taking science,engineering and technology.The safety issues here is not about
themselves only but also to the others.For example,the collapsion of Sultan Mizan in Kuala
Terengganu is enough for preventing people from involving any designing and engineering
jobs of a building.It is said that the stadium collapse because of the design and low quality of

This is something that we should concern the most.Lack of researches in Malaysia that can be
promoted to world.This will cause no attraction by children to explore and invent new things
and ideas because there is no initiation from the professions.For the time being,there is no

1.It is important to promote science,technology and engineering to school children,this is

because to make sure future enviroment of our country is better,more inventions that can save
time are designed,the universe is discovered more,more invention that can against disasters
cause is produced.

2.However,there is challenges to promote them to school children,that are lack of successful

ideas from our country to be promoted to the world,safety issues and current economy
condition.
