Unit Title: Naked USB

Students will be introduced to 3D printing and CAD (Computer Aided Drawing) whilst

USB storage device on CAD and print their prototype on the 3D printer.

Learning in TAS subjects is largely experiential and portfolio based. Because course
work is tied to practical tasks completed at school, homework is not issued
although it is expected that students will work on assessment tasks at home.
Home-based enrichment activities for students who are interested or capable are
supplied as required.

using a 3D printer to make a prototype of their product. The student is able to
manage their files and folders and demonstrates an excellent knowledge of a
range of Microsoft applications, as well as appropriate cybersafety and online
manners. The student is able to apply this knowledge to a broad range of
situations. The student has completed all activities in their portfolio to an
outstanding level and has gone beyond the expectations of other students.
The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of CAD drawing. In
addition the student has achieved a high level of awareness and skill in using a
3D printer to make a prototype of their product. The student is able to manage
their files and folders and demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft applications as
well as uses the internet in a safe and respectful manner. The student is able
to apply this knowledge to a broad range of situations. The student has
completed all activities in their portfolio to a high level.
The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of CAD drawing. In
addition the student has demonstrated the skills required to use a 3D printer to
make a prototype of their product. The student manages their files and folders
and demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft applications as well as uses the

knowledge to a range of situations. The student has completed all activities in
their portfolio.
The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of CAD drawing. In
addition the student has shown some of the skills required to use a 3D printer
to make a prototype of their product. The student manages their files and
folders with assistance and demonstrates a basic knowledge of Microsoft
applications as well as uses the internet in a safe and respectful manner most
of the time. The student is able to apply this knowledge when in class. The
student has completed most activities in their portfolio.
The student has shown a very basic knowledge and understanding of CAD
drawing. In addition they have shown that with assistance they can use a 3D
printer and made a very simple prototype. The student has demonstrated a
limited understanding of how to organise files and folders and use some
Microsoft applications. The student has completed some of the activities in
their portfolio.
