Company Profile

Saudi Rockwool Factory (SRWF) is a member of (GIG)

Gulf Insulation Group and a Subsidiary of Zamil Industrial
Investment Company (Zamil Industrial). Saudi Rockwool
Factory provides the local and international market with
high quality insulation materials.
There are two manufacturing plant of Saudi Rockwool
Factory. The first one was established in 1992 in the third
industrial area south of Riyadh and has a total production
capacity of 25,000 tons/year using state of the art

Riyadh

equipment and machinery.

The Second plant is located in Al Kharj industrial city and
will be the biggest Rockwool plant in the region, producing
40,000 tons/year of the different Rockwool products. With
combined capacity of 65,000 tons/year, SRWF will be the
largest producer of Rockwool in the Middle East, Africa and
Asia Region.

Quality Management
Maintaining high quality products is the first commitment
of the company towards its valued customers. Quality
Assurance Department was established to insure the
conformity of the products to the relevant technical local
and international standards. The highly equipped in-house
laboratory is utilized to perform most of raw material and
product testing, additionally SRWF products are frequently
tested by local and international third party independent
laboratories for certification and approval purposes. This
enabled the factory to obtain ISO 9001 Quality System
Certificate since 1998, in addition to European Conformity
Mark (CE) and Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) Certificates.
Additionally, products are classified and certified as A1 by
Warrington as per Euro fire classification (EN13501).
SRWF products are recently certified by UL as Zero flame
spread and Zero smoke develop indexes according
to UL 723 (equivalent to ASTM E84, surface burning
characteristic). Also Saudi Rockwool Factory and Products
(Panel & Mattress) are approved by Saudi Civil Defence as
fire proof products.

Advantages of Rockwool:

About Rockwool

Rockwool is considered as a high performance material

in the thermal, acoustic insulation and fire resistance
applications.

Thermal insulation and energy saving

Power / energy conservation is one of our civilization aspects
for its positive role in conserving the environment and the
national economy. Scientific research and studies proved
that use of thermal insulation in buildings dramatically
reduce the heat transfer through the walls and the roofs.

Acoustic insulation
The Unique structure of the Rockwool makes it an ideal
product as a sound absorber or acoustic insulation, with
high sound absorption coefficient over a wide frequency
range. The acoustical insulation can be made by installing
Saudi Rockwool in wall partitions which provide significant
improvement in their Sound Transmission Class (STC).

Thermal Transmittance (U-value):

Resistance from Air Films and Air Spaces

Air films are layers of air that are assumed to be static

The thermal transmittance or U-value of a construction is

on each side of a building envelope, and air spaces are

defined as the quantity of heat that flows through a unit

volumes of air within building constructions they are both

area of a building section under steady-state conditions in

interesting thermal components they have potentially useful

unit time per unit temperature difference of the air on either

thermal properties. They can contribute substantially to the

side of the section. It is expressed in W/m2.k and is given by:

insulating capabilities of construction assemblies -

Thermal Transmittance (U-Value) = 1/RT
