First, peel bananas and place them in a large bowl.
Mash the bananas with a fork. Next, add the flour and stir
until blended. Then, mix together the water and sugar in
a small bowl to make syrup. Add the syrup and sesame
seed to the banana mixture and mix well. Afterwards,
coat the skillet with cooking oil and heat it over medium
fire. When it is already hot, pour in a small amount of
mixture. Lastly, use the spatula to turn the fritter when
the edge begins to turn golden brown. Serve hot.

prepared for her when she came back to the Philippines?

Julia grew up in Canada. She visited her Tiya Auring in the

dishes. Among those foods served was her special kare-kare. When
Julia tasted it, she was really happy because she liked its taste. She

cook it. Luckily, Tiya Auring invited her to the kitchen and they started
cooking.
Tiya Auring enumerated all the ingredients they will need in
cooking kare-kare: 2 lbs. pork or ox tail, cut into 2 inches lengths, 6
tablespoons peanut butter, 1 bundle sitaw cut into 3 inches lengths, 2
bundles of pechay, 2-6 gloves garlic minced, 1 medium onion sliced,
1 teaspoon achuete powder, 1 medium eggplant cut into 6 pieces, 1
tablespoon fish sauce and bagoong or shrimp paste. After that, she
guided Julia in cooking through the following instructions:
1. Boil the pork until soft. Set aside. Reserve the broth.

thought that something was missing. Tiya Auring reminded her that
she must follow it religiously to avoid confusions about the taste of
the dish.
