I had no idea what I was really interested in when I came to McNick. I fumbled around with
some sports, but I found my passion in the music and theatre departments. Both departments are
committed to making us the best that we can be. _Scott 14

Inspired to Grow in Christ

Experience a Catholic, Christian community where your faith is nourished,
your talents are celebrated, and where you are encouraged to discover who it is
that you were meant to be.
Faith is the cornerstone of our McNicholas family. Our Catholic identity is
fostered through daily religion class, monthly mass, relevant guest speakers,
special programs, and annual class retreats. Beyond the classroom, students
engage in prayer and faith-strengthening activities within athletic teams, as
part of clubs, and through living in community with one another.
Our faith is part of who we are and of everything we do, whether in daily
prayer as a community, in sharing intentions at the beginning of math class,
in kneeling with your teammates after a soccer game, or in lifting up a fellow
Rocket family in prayer. God has big plans for you. Come grow in both Christ
and community with us!

spirit

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sistersbecause your faith is growing
more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.
_2 Thessalonians 1:3

Inspired to Serve
At McNicholas, we take service seriously. While all students are required to complete a minimum of forty service hours before
graduation, most of our students go well beyond this requirement. In fact, the Century Club honors those who have exceeded
one hundred hours of service by selflessly giving back to the community. In 2013, more than forty percent of the senior class was
awarded this honor. Each graduating class regularly exceeds over 20,000 hours of community service.
Unique to McNicholas is our long-standing tradition of Mardi Gras, where students are honored based on their service to school
and community. Service is not just a requirement at McNicholas, its our way of life.
Service Club is one of McNicholass most active groups. Campus-wide service programs include:
< Warm clothes collection
< Thanksgiving Giveback
< Penny Drive for Change
< St. Patricks Day Senior Citizen Prom
< Adopt-A-Highway

heart

Service at McNicholas is about more than just meeting a class requirement. Its about
expressing our gratitude toward God for the many blessings he has given us.
_Sam 13

Inspired to Engage
With over 30 clubs, groups and organizations to choose from, there is a place for everyone within our community. McNicholas is large enough to provide ample
opportunities for involvement, and yet small enough for students to explore multiple interests. This cross-over in activities creates an environment where labels
and cliques struggle to stick.

Inspired to Improve
Athletic Complex
McNicholas has entered a new phase in our schools history. In recent years, a tremendous amount of effort has been put forth toward the building of our home
athletic field and complex, Penn Station Stadium. Current students and their families, as well as alumni and their parents have contributed greatly to this endeavor.
Even though construction continues, sports teams in the Fall of 2012 took the field for the first time using our new facilities. Thanks to generous donations, this
athletic complex is in the process of becoming a first-class facility for generations of athletes, fans, and for our entire community to enjoy. Our athletic home features
> An all-purpose turf field.
> An eight-lane, all-weather surface running track.
> Enhanced baseball/ softball fields.
> An electronic scoreboard and state of the art press box.
> Bleachers to accommodate more than 2,000 fans.
> A paved and well-lighted parking lot.
Plans continue for a landscaped pavilion, as well as a renovated concession area. The future looks bright for our new Rocket home!

What inspires us
Our History
McNicholas has its roots in St. Joseph Academy, a boarding school for girls
opened by the sisters of St. Joseph of Bourg in 1915. Archbishop John Timothy McNicholas request for the academy to become the first coeducational
diocesan high school in the Cincinnati area was honored on January 15, 1951
when Archbishop McNicholas High School was dedicated.
Our Mission
Archbishop McNicholas High School is a co-educational, Christ-centered,
Catholic community that embraces each student - spiritually, intellectually,
morally, and physically. We provide a safe, nurturing, creative, and challenging
campus where individuals will grow in knowledge and faith. We equip our
students with opportunities and experiences that will enable them to achieve
excellence, live out gospel values, and attain full stature in Christ.
