1. What are the ten most important values that shape the way you live your life?
2. Set your personal and professional goals by completing the activities below:
First, you have to use the image below to draw a spider chart or mind map and think about
where you are at the moment in terms of your level of satisfaction with a number of
dimensions in your life. This will help you set goals for your personal life.
The centre where the lines intersect represents a score of 0 and the outside is 10. If you
are satisfied in a particular area, you would put a X on the line closer to the outside. If
you are not satisfied, you would put a X closer to the centre.
Once you have put a cross X on each line, join all the Xs so it forms a spider web. You can
now use your spider web to set goals for yourself. Any areas where you are close to the
centre are probably the areas where you can set yourself some goals. For this
assessment, you must write at least two career/ professional goals for yourself.
Make sure that the goals you write are specific, measurable, and achievable and have
a target date for completion.
For example, an example of a well written goal is:
I want to lose 5 kilos over the next 6 months.
(This goal is specific, measurable, achievable and has a target date)
