Time Management
My busy day is split up between important activities that I need to complete in order to
maintain a healthy and productive lifestyle in college. I am going to talk about how I expect to
manage my time as a college student to be successful in all of my classes. I gathered the
information by making my class schedule and breaking down my day by every activity by the
hour.
Current Time Usage
The main purpose of this chart is to show how I manage my time currently as a high
school student. It represents the responsibilities I have now to compare to the responsibilites I
will have when I start life as a college student. I gathered this information by evaluating my
current schedule and recording each activity performed by every hour.

The two charts I used to demonstrate my time management and my future time
management schedule for college were similar yet different. A couple of reasons they were
different was because the time I have for working at my current job is 42 hours. I expect to not
have enough time for hours like that because I will be busy with my studies and so I think I will
work about 21 hours during college. The other major difference that I noticed was the time that I
have for social or recreational activities. I currently spend 26 hours a week with friends or going
out but I expect that to make a dramatic drop to 8 hours a week during college. A similarity
between the charts was the hours I spend in my classes a week. In high school, I spend 25 hours
in my classes a week and I expect to spend 24 hours a week in my college classes. The similarity

or difference that surprised me the most was the amount of sleep that I get now compared to
what is expected to have as a college. Student. As a high school student. I receive 31 hours of
sleep a week and I expect to receive 10 hours of sleep in college. I learned that making a college
schedule is difficult because college students have to choose their classes wisely. Also, I learned
that I will need to make more time for homework and less time for social gatherings to be a
successful college student.
