A Tour of The Church Whilst

taking a tour of any church we must

remember that all Churches are
different and that the size and
contents of Churches may vary on
many different types of things
including the type of Christianity being
preached at the place of worship.
Ground Plan -From looking at this first
image we can see that one of the key
features of a Christian Church is the ground plan upon which it is
built, as it is most likely always to be built in the shape of a cross.
High Alter Here we can see the
high alter, where traditionally a
priest or minister will celebrate Holy
Communion with the gathered
community.
Main Sanctuary Light This can be
seen hanging above the High Alter
and when lit is used to resemble the
presence of the Holy Spirit of the
congregation.
Pulpit - The pulpit is a
preacher will stand on to
God. It is most

Lectern The lectern is a stand usually shaped as a
eagle, on which the Bible is placed and read from.
The use of an eagle is symbolic as it shows how God
has spread his wings and spreads his world around
the whole word.
