Step 1: Creating a Design in Turtle Art

1. Open the Turtle Art application from the desktop or the start menu.
2. Create a series of commands for the turtle to follow by dragging the green blocks
from the left-hand menu and placing them on the workplane. Link the green
blocks by placing them below the previous block so that they attach.
3. When you are ready to test your sequence select the magic wand from the top
menu, and then use the wand to click repeatedly on the group of green blocks.
4. When you are completely satisfied with your design, save it to your flashdrive
as a .PNG file.
Make sure that your design is completely on the workplane, otherwise your
design will be cut off in the final print
Make sure your file name includes your name!!

Step 2: Converting Your Design in InkScape


1. Open InkScape application from the desktop or the start menu.
2. Open your .PNG file.
3. Select the image then under the Path menu, select Trace Bitmap. Leave all
settings the way they are, then click OK
4. Close the Trace Bitmap window.
5. Go to File, then click Save As to save your new file as a .SVG

Importing into TinkerCad


1. Using the Import menu on the right-hand menu, click Choose File. Select
the desired file (either .SVG or .STL) and confirm the scale (100% unless the
file is too big, or if otherwise specified).
2. If needed, change the grid from millimeters into inches using the Edit Grid
button in the lower right-hand corner of the workspace.
3. Scale your design to the desired size.
4. Under the Design menu, click Download for 3D Printing.
5. Move your newly downloaded file to your flashdrive!!!
