Personal Statement

With competition and businesses growing at the rate of sublimation, the demand for
software engineers to solve complex IT problems and create new programs has
increased. Computer technology requires an exigent need of sharp and problem
solving nature which is one of the reasons for me to pursue this course.
In my perspective, this discipline offers enormous scope. Computer technology and
software is that one field which always has space for research and advancements.
As an individual who has hunger for success and passion for computers, this
discipline is ideal. This course will allow me to learn in-depth about the theoretical
basics of computer science and the techniques required for storing, manipulating
and presenting data through computers.
Computers have always been my passion since the age of 11. Since then I have
been playing with computer machines and discovering my idiosyncratic ways to
solve the problems that occurred on the course. I believe in myself and my ideas
which I feel is an important merit when working as a team. Programming has been
an integral part of my life and passion; this shoves my heart to pursue this program.
Computers have carved themselves like a linocut on my heart.
I possess a number of qualities which I feel is well suited for this course. For
instance, I have always been appreciated for my logical thinking, creativity and
programming skills. Whilst still at school, I was involved in many programming
based activities in the annual school fest or prize days and I also did create an
astrology program which predicted the users future using zodiac signs during my
7th grade. My teachers have always praised my computer related math, creativity
and programming skills. In fact, many people still approach me with their computer
related problems.
Computers allow creative people to think and thinking leads to ideas which in return
lead to entrepreneurship. As a creative thinker myself, I believe in entrepreneurship.
In a golden age like this where everyone wants to get chores done in a simplified
way, we need more and more creative thinkers and institutions to spread this
creativity and I believe university of twente is one best institution for creative
thinkers and promoting entrepreneurship; this reason makes university of twente
my primary choice. As a matter of fact, I am an entrepreneur too. The Room Click
was founded by me in 2014 during my 11th grade, since then there has been no
hurdle in the success of The Room Click. The Room Click is an online portal where
one can design their rooms online; one can customize their own ceiling fan, walls
and much more. As soon as we get the design of the user, we reach at their place to
bring their dream room live. I also co founded a company called Hub 29 with a
close friend of mine but unfortunately the company went down due to some legal
and financial issue. Currently, I have been working on reviving Hub 29 and merging
it with The Room Click.

On a more academic level, I have always been a bright and achieving student since
my 1st grade. In my 10th grade which is considered as a very important grade
academically, I have achieved an average of 88.3%. In my 12 th grade, I have
achieved an average of 66% which is low compared to my 10 th grade marks. There
were unavoidable circumstances and situations that led my 12 th average to go low.
Like just hours before my Mathematics exam, my grandfather passed away so I
wasnt ready mentally to write my exams due to the emotional shock I had incurred.
A week before my exams, my companys domain was illegally put up for sale by an
unknown identity so a lot of time was spent on getting back my domain. So, I wasnt
prepared emotionally and mentally to write my 12 th grade exams which led to the
downfall of my 12th grades. I hope the admission committee understands the reason
for my low 12th grade marks.
On a more subject specific level, I can write and comprehend computer programs
and the logic behind them. I am also a patient and focused person when it comes to
work. This trait will enable me to keep my cool when it comes to solving frustrating
problems like computer bugs. Creating websites has always been my interest since
my first exposure to HTML in class 6. Since then I have successfully gained a good
command over HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Over the years I have also gained ample experience in electricity and electric
contracting and works through an internship at Alfa Electric Corporation in its
Electrical Works department. Later, I also interned at Alfa Pharmaceuticals as a
computer operator. I was also a part of their blazing team which created their
companys billing software.
On a social side, I have also served as the President of Interact Club (A part of
Rotary Club) for one term. Interact club was a charity organization under a wellknown social club called Rotary Club. Under my leadership, we carried out many
charity missions in many small and remote villages, we also gave out free
dictionaries to uneducated people and helped many kids in the rural part of india in
learning English.
It is important for one to follow his/her passions and dreams as Oprah Winfrey says,
The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams. As child I
was always fascinated by movies and books, since then I have always spent a part
of my life learning writing and film making. As an avid reader and traveler, I
interned at IcyTales as an content writer, I also used to run a blog on m experiences
as an entrepreneur and student but due to the lack of time and a busy schedule of
academics, business and passion, I dont run the blog anymore. I also make short
films and write plays during my free time. Being fit is also a very important part of
life as health is the biggest wealth so I also have a significant attachment and talent
in the field of sports. I am a football player for a local club in Bangalore called
Knights, I play as a left winger and on many occasion have also hailed as the man
of the match.
I am presently looking for an environment that will keep exacting my problem
solving skills and uplift my passion for entrepreneurship, creativity and leadership.

And university of twente is the perfect place for me as it gives everything I could
use to shape my future.
