SYSTEMATIC PLAN FOR TEACHING/DEMONSTRATION STRING CLASS

METHOD

CONTENT STANDARD:

I.

Demonstrate the basic and fundamentals in handling stringed


instruments; proper position and placement; handling and grip of the bow;
basic parts and functions; instruction for playing; and basic maintenance
and care.
Applied learned concepts and techniques stated above, and other
elements to actual lessons and performances

OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the demonstration, the students are expected to
familiarize the different Stringed Instruments family; be able to
determine its parts; proper handling and position of the instruments;
grip of the bow; and taking care and basic maintenance of the
instrument.
COGNITIVE:

The students are expected to distinguish the difference of sizes, parts,


functions, etc. of the different stringed instruments.
They are expected to compare and spot their differences.
AFFECTIVE:

To be able to appreciate the nature, history and importance of the various


stringed instruments.
Be able to see the beauty of the instruments and be able to move ones
attention and affection towards the instrument and also in playing.
PSYCHOMOTOR:

Be able to position and adjust in handling the instrument.


Be able to play the basics enthusiastically.

PROCEDURE
Introduction:
The instructor/demonstrator will open up the
discussion/demonstration by introducing a stringed instrument(s).
He/she will try to give a definition and an overview of the stringed
instrument especially its nature.
An introduction of the family of strings will follow.
Instruction of the parts and proper handling and position, grip of the
bow will be done after.
Interaction:
The instructor/demonstrator must require the student(s) to hold and
do a hands-on to a certain instrument.
The instructor/demonstrator must let the student(s) master the
given instructions: the basic concepts, positioning and handling of the
instrument(s).
Integration:
The demonstration should lead the students to the appreciation of
the stringed instruments.
The instruction of the fundamental concepts and the basics should
result to lasting experience and knowledge that lead may lead to
pursuance on this field in the future.

IV.

ASSESMENT
A. Diagnostic
The instructor/demonstrator might choose the option to
assess the student(s) and measure if the students had a
background on music playing especially with the stringed
instruments.
B. Formative
The demonstration should lead to satisfying results when
distinguishing string instruments and on proper handling and
maintenance of the instruments.
During the demonstration, the instructor/demonstrator must
require the students to apply what they had been instructed.
C. Summative
A quiz might be given to measure the students learning.
Application on what theyve learned is a must and should lead to
basic understanding and skill whenever the student(s) want(s) to
continue and expand more in music especially on this field.
