2) INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Steps:
1.
(Disc version only) Insert the 'Max Payne 3' (Disc 1) into your
DVD-ROM drive.
If the installer does not start, open your DVD-ROM drive folder
and double click on the 'Setup' icon.
2.
You will begin installation of Max Payne 3. Please follow the on
-screen directions
until the the installation process is complete.

(Retail version only) In order to play Max Payne 3 you do not ne
ed the DVD in your drive.

Click on the 'Max Payne 3' icon to start Max Payne 3. The game
will download and install updates if available.

You will be asked to create a Social Club account or to sign int
o an existing account. Rockstar Games Social Club is a members-only destination
for leaderboards,

stats, tournaments, ongoing special competitions, virtual events


, MP3s and more goodies associated with Rockstar titles.
7.
You will be prompted to enter your product key to perform a onetime product activation via the internet.
You can find the product key on the back of your manual. Please
note that the game includes a release date check, and
will not activate until the release date has passed. If you fail
to connect, or the process fails, please visit www.rockstargames.com/support
for details. Please keep your game manual as additional activat
ion codes are not available.
Note: Once the game is activated, and a Social Club profile created you do not
need an internet connection to play the game.
However without an internet connection certain Social Club features will
not be available, and the game will not be able to automatically download and i
nstall updates.

Max Payne 3 includes an automatic patching system. When you run the game it will
check for
new patches, and can automatically download and install them if they are availab
le.
A mandatory patch is required on first launch to activate the game.
Please note that the Steam version uses Steam's patching system.

Max Payne 3 PC supports mouse and keyboard, Xinput controllers such as the Xbox3
60 pad for Windows.

All control types can be used interchangeably. For instance you can use mouse an
d keyboard for on-foot,
then switch to a 360 controller at any time without having to change any options

atically to show the correct

For instructions on how to get this information, please follow steps below:
Run DXDIAG.EXE from your Start menu (click Start, Run..., then type "dxdiag" and

hit Enter)
Click the "Save all Information" button, located at the bottom of the program wi
ndow
Save the file as "dxdiag.txt"
Click the "More Help" tab
Click the button marked "MSinfo..."
Click on the "File" menu and choose "Export" (Do not use "save")
Then save the file as a Text Document and name it "MSinfo.txt"
