INNOVATION
We at Safe Sign started 3 years ago an innovation-project in order to upgrade our photoluminescent
sign range. Till today most photoluminescent sign makers use PVC. Only some know that PVC is the
single most enviromentally damaging of all plastics. Since PVC contaminates the enviroment
throughout its lifecycle, during it's production, use, and disposal. As users increasingly demand PVCfree products and as the enviromental and health costs of PVC are recognized, our alternatives will
become more economically viable. For us at Safe Sign this was the ignition to do something about it.
We have replaced PVC with a safer material, a modified recycable polymer. Besides this we went one
step further, the complete range is also free of halogens. Signs containing halogens can cause a huge
problem, where toxicity of smoke is our highest consern within enclosed spaces where means of escape
by persons are limited; examples include mass transit rail cars, ships and offshore oil and gas
installations. In several tragic catastrophies that have happened in last recent years people have been
killed by toxic fumes. We took the challenge and developed our new range of photolume signage.
Today we are ready, we finalised our signage and can inform Users throughout the world that we have
Signage wich is Halogen & PVC free and is even lasting longer than common signs up to five times.
Using new materials and techniques helped us to achieve innovative Signs
which are also economical to buy and even look better.
The signs are restistant to UV, oil and most chemicals and are very easy to maintain and clean.

Here is a few tips on how to get the most out of ypur SWGS system.
Most of our signs comes with foamtape on the backside,
we suggest you use this. This is a very strong foamtape that sticks to
most surfaces. Both inside and outside.
How high should we install signs?
We recomend aprox 160 cm from floorlevel but check if signs can be
installed in that height all over this area. This keeps you from having
to install signs in several heights in the same area. Use laser if available.
What height should we install the Low Location Light System?
Aprox 20 cm from floor level and no higher than 40 cm.
Do the same as with signs, check if it's possible to install all in same
height. Use laser if available.
How do we know that Low Location Light System works year after year?
All LLL-systems are to be delivered with logbook that has all the certificates
and lab.test on afterglow. Furthermore, all LLL-systems are to be checked
every 5 years and this should also be documented in the logbook.
Do all signs have the same afterglow effect and how long does it last?
Afterglow effect is different from each supplier. Not everybody delivers
signs acc. to known standards and may not have enough afterglow effect
to be approved. Allways ask for certificates and ask if they are acc. to
standard. If your signs are more than 5 years old we recomend you check
the afterglow effect. This is easy, take an old sign and compare it with a new.
Take them into a room, let them stay in the same light for aprox 20 minutes
and then turn of the light. It normally showes in a few minutes if they are
still OK. Check every 15 minutes for an hour. Keep it dark all the time!

According to Solasregulations, informationsigns have to be placed in the direct area of rescue and
life-saving devices. They must explain function, control and actions to be taken. Safe Sign designs
for this training and instructionposters which come in a outdoor high quality self adhesive
vinyl film. The size is in general 30x40 cm. On special request we supply these signs in Bilangual.
In general they are with english text. Furtheron there is also the possibility to receive these signs as

T-ISS retro reflective tape is intended for reflectorizing SOLAS life suport equipment such as life vests, jackets, and rafts. It
conforms to, IMO Res. A.658(16) and meets U.S. Coast Guard specification 46 CFR Part 164, Subpart 164.018/5/0. It is
approved by numerous national authorities around the globe. It is approved with the Wheelmark approval by Bureau
Veritas. T-ISS Tape is an encapsulated lens type sheeting with a flexible and highly transparent plastic film.Our tape has

T-ISS Drip Stop Tape
Simple to use. Drip Stop Tape is not using any adhesive components. It will not stick to the hand. Drip Stop Tape is
made to stick his own components with a full cure time of 20~30 minutes when overleap taped approximetly width to
underlayer material (by making about 2~3mm narrow of width of tape). Applicable to execute of taping wet areas even
pressurized leaking up to about 2~3kg/cm2 and it will cure even in water. When being used in wet areas, it must winded
by hand very tightly in order to avoid invading the water or trash between the layers.
Applying for various materials/uses. Stop Leak Tape is excellent for protecting a water leakage but will also prevent the

being transported Keep out moisture, weather, sound and fumes by ensuring a tight hatch seal.
HaCo hatch cover tape is design by specialists with 20 years experience, to seal out the elements on hatch cover rims.
HaCo pressure sensitive adhesive liner gives excellent bond it resists salt water and oxidation.
Regulations regarding hatch covers have evolved since the investigation following the loss of the MV Derbyshire. The
Load Line Conference of 1966 imposed a requirement that hatch covers be able to withstand load of 1.74 tons/m due to
sea water, and a minimum scantling of 6 mm for the tops of the hatch covers. The Association of Classification Societies
increased this strength standard by creating its Unified Requirement S21 in 1998.
HaCo 2 has an extraordinary strength, adhesion and is extremely flexible compared to others in the market.
It can be easily recognized by his blue top layer of modified HdPE.
