Statement of purpose
I'm Rajesh Chaudhary, a resident of Rangpur-4, Chocha, Rautahat, Nepal. I have
completed my SLC from Shree Jan Priya Secondary school, Harinagar Maidha,
Rauthat, Nepal and completed my Diploma In Computer Science and
Engineering(2006-2009) from Birgunj Institute of Technology, Parsa, Nepal.
I have completed Bachelor of Engineering in 2014 from Visvesvaraya
Technological University with specialization in Computer Science from Karnataka,
India.
After my graduation, I found myself wondering about what to do next. I knew that
I could either attend graduate school or dip my feet into the working world. I
looked inside myself and found that I want to apply my education. Therefore, I
made a decision to join the working force and I received a job. I have done two
projects in Java programming language. One was about "Banking System" and the
second was about the "Privacy Preserving Public Auditing for Secure Cloud
Computing". The Banking system was small software that handled all the
transactions regarding bank, which provides the account holder information, and
handling day-to-day transactions. This software automatically updates the account
holders account mentioning the current balance in his account. The Privacy
Preserving Public Auditing for Secure Cloud Computing stores the information
or data on the cloud and also gives the security of the data of users.
Working is my main source of learning. I worked in the Computing Laboratory as
an Assistant programmer and Network Administrator for 2 years. I did , however,
feel that I could continue my education.

The Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) program is a professional

degree program designed to prepare me for more productive careers in industry
and to provide strong foundation in the core computer science areas, together with
advanced study of specialized topics in computing. The masters degree in
Computer Science will enable me to learn advanced knowledge of computer
language theory, software design, as well as data bases, networks, or security.
Proficiency in algorithms, operating systems, computer language usage, software
development, and the management of data, networks, or security are also the areas
that are covered by this degree. Furthermore, the competence, sufficient to
investigate continually emerging new software technologies, applications, and
approaches, can also be developed.
It is obvious that America is a well- developed country while Nepal is still in its
early stage of development. Studying in the USA and exploring a culture different
from our own will help me gain essential life skills such as improving my
confidence, communication and social skills. I can choose to travel around, see
world famous attractions and immerse myself in the American culture and
language. The United States is the leader in many areas of technology and
research. While studying here, I will be exposed to advanced technology and
research. The US degrees are recognized around the world for their academic
excellence and enhanced learning experiences such as Commitment to Excellence,
Brilliant Scope for Research, Academic Flexibility, Value Addition and Cultural
Enhancement. There will be many opportunities for me to gain practical, careerrelated experience during my US university studies. Co-operative (co-op)
education and internship programs are widely available and often integrated into
program curricula to make it easy for me to build up my resume before graduation.
When I began my undergraduate studies in Computer Science and Engineering, I
had the opportunity to expose myself to the full range of the department's courses.
This stimulated my interest in various areas of computer science and gave me
invaluable academic insight. In addition, the professors of the department have
contributed to my development with their knowledge and personality and several
of them influenced my goals from the conversations we had. At this time I knew
that a researchers interests should span several areas in order to have a broader
view of his science and not simply being restricted to a specific area. However, I

do understand that, in order to be a successful researcher, it is necessary to be

specialized in a field.
Absorbing new technologies is always a pleasure to me. Since I like to be ahead of
others in knowing new technologies, I choose to study further. Studying abroad has
been my dream since I was in junior high school. And I think contacting with the
whole world broadens one's view. On the road towards my goal, first of all, I wish
to get at least a master degree on Computer Sciences, and then I will pursue
another degree in management or other related fields. While I study further in the
field of Computer Sciences, I hope to implement my ideas in the best environment,
including a good studying atmosphere, the best faculties, senior students, and good
computing facilities. I choose your academia because I think you have the best
environment based on those conditions.
My parents are financially capable to support me for my studies of Master in
Computer Science and Engineering. My father operates his own clinic in the
position of doctor and mother work s as high school teacher and also we have
agricultural business.
My future plan is to establish a software company in Nepal after completion of my
degree. I want to help the fresh Nepalese computer engineers by providing
internship opportunities in software sector and also provide them job. As Nepali
student of technology, my primary focus is to develop something which is lowcost, fitting to our national mindset and targeted to serve Nepalese necessities. My
intent is to increase my own education, feed my curiosity, and be someone great. I
hope that the reviewer sees my purpose and desire for applying to graduation
program here at Arkansas State University . Thank you for your time and careful
