Job Start Check-list

Before Start of the Job


• Conduct Tool-box talk.
• Obtain PTW.
• Verify site-condition such as gas testing,
LOTO etc.
• Check PPE’s of personnel.
• Check materials / equipment to be used.
• Verify fire extinguishers, water hose, fire
watch etc for hot work.
• Check JSA for the job.
• Check Fit for service certification of heavy
equipment.
• Inspect hoists & accessories.

Fall Protection Technique

When work at height, use harness.


• Hook the harness in permanent fixture.
• Ensure harness do not entangle with
other objects.
• Avoid slip & fall.

Hoists & Lifts

• No working under the loads.


• Inspect lifting gear before use.
• Use tag-line to guide lifts.
• Ensure bangs man & correct use of
lifting sign.
• No multiple lifts.
• Protect hoist from sharp edge.
• Lift only SWL authorized.
• Select load rated sling, chain, rope for
use.
• Do not allow ride over loads

Drink water very often even if you do not


feel thirsty.

Working with crane

• No crane work without fitness for


services certificate.
• No crane working close to HT power-
line as per NEC code.
• Position out-riggers firmly on ground.
Use wooden pallets.
• Allow to lift only SWL.
• Restrict access to crane working area.
• Use signal man to lift loads & no
ambiguity in signal.
• Ensure Emergency stop (safety switch)
works.
• Qualified operator to handle crane.

 Know your Emergency Assembly &
Evacuation instructions.
 Know where the Project Clinic is.
 Follow the instructions of supervision and
EH&S personnel.
 Understand the requirements, and the
penalties for non compliance.
 Wear the mandatory PPE.
 Be an observer - stay alert to any
inspections.
 Don't use unsafe scaffold, look for the
compliance tags.
 Practice good housekeeping.
 Use your best safety device - THINK.
 If you're not sure - ASK someone!!
 Report Injuries/Incidents/Illnesses
 Report SAFETY issues to the
SUPERVISION & SAFETY personnel.
