Plethora of CyberPhysical Systems

IoT conception: very high expectations on cyber-physical systems since 2011

But seems complex to create a common design framework (or is it just impossible?)

(1) Generic platform for CPS

(2) Optimization per CPS domain

David Atienza (ESL-EPFL)

1. What is missing to enable this new platform for cyber-physical systems?

Is it possible to create one for all domains?

2. Which are the requirements of cyber-physical systems for companies?

Do they envision business-to-business opportunities or no ecosystem to enable this?

3. Is our current education appropriate or how should it be changed to form

engineers that can develop cyber-physical systems?
Is this scalable for IoT Era (+25B devices connected by 2020)?
