Why RailWire Broadband Now?

The Main Objective of National Telecom Policy (NTP) 2012:Provide affordable and reliable broadband-on-demand by the year 2015
and to achieve 175 million broadband connections by the year 2017 and
600 million by the year 2020 at minimum 2 Mbps download speed and
making available higher speeds of at least 100 Mbps on demand.
Striving towards Govt. of India aim by 2020 to become the worlds
leading digital economies by deep penetration of high speed Broadband
to each & every home, its the suitable time to venture in retail
broadband service.
RailWire is a retail Broadband initiative of the RailTel Corporation of India
Limited (RailTel), a Government of India Enterprise, with a mission to make
available "ICT to Common Man" & "Internet, Education and Health Services
to Masses".

Introduction RailWire Broadband


RailWire is a retail broadband initiative of RailTel for extending
broadband and application services to the public including remote areas
(in association with Local Cable Operators and other access network
providers, by utilizing their last mile).
RailTel aims to provide Retail Broadband & Value added services, VPN &
Enterprise Business, CDN Services, Cloud Services etc through RailWire
Platform.
RailTel Targets to connect at least 10% of total Cable home subscriber
(approx 100 million users).

Metro Ethernet Technology


If customer Premises is within 60m-90m from control room direct connectivity
can be given to customer using Cat 5/6 cable.
If customer premises is more than 90m distance, establish link to the building

through fiber and terminate at distribution switch installed in the building.


From the distribution switch connect the customer using cat6/5 cable
Using media convertor and unmanageable switch further cascading shall be done

If power source not available at the distribution point, using power convertors
and utilizing the cable TV network power we can provide power for internet
accessories

EOC- Ethernet Over Coax


Install a Master modem in LCO control room ( Coax Network Starting point)
using cat5/6 cable establish the link from access switch to the master modem
TV and Internet signal will get mixed in the master modem and it will get

transmitted to the customer end slave modem


If the distance between master modem and slave modem is more than 1000M
signal has to be repeated by installing additional master modem

From the Slave modem connect TV using coax cable and using cat5/6 cable
establish the internet signal to PC

Fill PIF form and submit to RailWire team
RailWire will check feasibility
If Feasible, LCO has to submit the below documents

Ration Card/ Rental Agreement/ Driving License (Address Proof)


VOTER ID/Aadhar Card (ID Proof)
PAN Card
Passport Size photo graph
Company seal & Letterhead
Service tax ( If required)
Post office license certificate

RailWire prepares the MOU and get Signed by LCO and RailTel
At the time of signing MOU,LCO need to give one cheque of Rs 10,000/-.

LCO will be registered with RailWire Billing System & get User Name & Password.

Deposited Amount of Rs 10,000/- will be credited to its account as virtual money.

RailWire Subscriber Account


KYC Document of End RailWire Subscriber will be collected by respective
LCO.
End RailWire Subscriber will be registered with User Name & Password in
billing system.
Respective LCO will have authorization to top up its end RailWire Subscriber.

LCO will be top up the account of its RailWire Subscriber through its available
balance (Rs 10,000) equal to amount of plan chosen by subscriber.
Once Subscriber top up is done, subscriber will become active

Subscriber Activation.
Once Subscriber top up is done, subscriber will become active
Subscriber account will de activated after expiry of 30 days.
Before 5 days of Expiry an SMS and mail intimation will go to the customer

Partner can view the list of customers Account Expiry in that particular Week
Partner need to collect subscription fee from subscriber and top up subscriber
account to avoid disconnection.
