Introduction
The world often talks about smartness being similar to wisdom. There are now smart phones
and intelligence system etc. I am deeply convinced in my heart that smartness and wisdom
are not the same in the spiritual sense.
A scientist may be smart to invent many things and may be foolish enough not to make
Heaven. God unveil the minute secrets of the universe, through mans inventions; but this is
for us to appreciate Him and recognise God who created everything in the universe .If you
celebrate a celebrity who invented or just created something what will you do to God who
created or invented everything in the universe? If you award a prize to a man for invention or
being smart in the real world sense, what will you award to God who invented life and
everything in the whole universe?
What is wisdom from human academic point of view?
Wisdom according to Merriam waster learners dictionary is:
Knowledge that is gained having experiences in life, it is the natural ability to
understanding things that other people cannot understand; it is knowledge of what is proper
or reasonable ,good sense of judgment
The psychologists tend to agree that wisdom involves integrations of knowledge, experience
and deep understanding that incorporate tolerance for the uncertainty of life as well as ups
and downs.
Wisdom or Sapience, according to Wikipedia is the ability to think, and act using knowledge,
experience, understanding, common sense and insight. It is a virtue to perform an action with
higher degree of adequacy under any given circumstance with limitation of error in any given
action.
From all the three schools of thought on what Wisdom is all about, the following virtues are
common for a person to be said to be wise:
Knowledge: ability to seek knowledge by applying it is very important.
Understanding the problem in which Wisdom is to be applied to and how to solve the
problem is also very important too.
Discernment: Insight or the awareness of the problem to be solved and the best way
of solving it.

Experience and Common Sense: Most problems to be solved simply need us to apply
common sense, and our own personal experiences and other peoples experiences to
solve the problems.
Intelligence, calmness and optimism: Most problems need calmness of heart and
intelligence to solve it especially when the problem is above the use of common
sense. We must develop confidence in solving problems and when taking decisions.
We must belief that the problem can be solved with little or no error.

What did the Bible says about Wisdom?

1. God gives Wisdom freely to anybody who desires Her (James 1:5).
2. Wisdom is the Bible is personifies with pronoun She and we must seek her
companion.
3. We must desire to be intelligent (Proverbs 18:15) an intelligent heart acquires
knowledge, and the eyes of the wise seeks knowledge.
4. We need wisdom to understand the will of God for our lives(Ephesians 5:1517)
We need Wisdom to be focus in life

Mercy and truth will always make us to find favour and good
understanding in sight of God and men (Proverbs 3:3-4).
Trusting God with all our hearts and all our ways we should acknowledge
Him and he will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Fear of Lord and departing from evil are secrets of good health.
Honouring God with our substance provoke prosperity.
Our souls are precious more than everything the earth contains, we must
not carelessly sold it to devil or mortgage it to Satan (Luke 15:7, 10).
Our focus must be always being focused on eternity because we dont
belong to this world; we are but passer-by in this world.
Obedience to the word of God has several blessings (see Deuteronomy
28:1-14).
Read the word of God always to have good success (Joshua 1:8).

May God grant us the spirit to understand His word. I pray that God will grant us, our
Children and families with Wisdom in Jesus name.
