Dear Parents,
Friendship is one of the greatest gifts of life. Friends have a
huge contribution in making children who they are as
individuals. Their importance in life is indescribable.
We are happy to announce October a FRIENDSHIP month at
RAIS. To spread the joy of friendship we have planned the
following activities:

Objectives for the Week

By the end of the week your child should be able
to:
Math

Kindly read and review the STUDENT-PARENT handbook

with your child. Be sure he/she understands the rules and
policies at our school. Sign and return the Signature form by or
before Wednesday, October 12.

Use repeated subtraction to show the

relationship between division and subtraction
Think strategically about available tools
that can be used to solve problems.
Language Arts-Reading and Phonics

Read and sort words with endings ed , -ing ,-er ,

est

Understand the elements of tall tale.

Language Arts-Writing and Grammar
Understand and identify the features of a
thank you note.
Define, identify and use sentences that are
statements and questions.
Science
Observe, predict, measure, and use other
process skills.
Understand and use the scientific method.

Social Studies

Week 1- Wednesday, October 5 - Students will be

participating in "Caring is Sharing".

Week 2 - Wednesday, October 12 - Students will

be participating in writing "Friendly Letters".

Week 3 -Wednesday, October 19 - Students will

be participating in and discussing what they would like to do
in order to promote their friendship.

Week 4 -Thursday, October 27 - Students will be

participating in "Reading Buddies" on Pyjama Day.
Students are asked to bring in their favourite storybook
to read to their friends.
