The following is a summary of findings from a telephone survey conducted among 400 registered voters in Maines Second
Congressional District who are likely to vote in the November 2016 general election. Respondents were reached on both
landlines and mobile phones. Interviews were conducted October 2-3, 2016. The sampling error for this survey is 4.9%.
Party identification: 29% Dem, 38% Ind, 33% GOP.

Democratic challenger Emily Cain leads incumbent Republican Congressman Bruce Poliquin, 46%45%. Cain has pulled ahead since last poll that showed a dead heat at 45%-45% with 10% undecided.
Cain continues to lead among Independent voters, 47%-42%.

While voters continue to evaluate the Congressional race separately from the top of ticket, the
improved standing of Secretary Hillary Clinton will undoubtedly help Cain. As the figure above shows,
Clinton now leads Donald Trump by four points with a full 12 points going to minor party candidates.
Cain continues to over-perform Clinton.
