Butea Superba

Butea Superba (Red Kwao Krua) is an androgenic herb widely used

among the males of Thailand as an aphrodisiac and to improve erectile
quality. Theres only limited amount of studies available to prove its
aphrodisiac effects, but what we know about the plant currently, is still
quite interesting.
In fact, Butea superba has a really weird composition. It contains
phytoandrogens and also phytoestrogens, however then it also contains antiestrogenic compounds which could potentially balance out the estrogenicity of
the plant.

Butea Superba as a Testosterone Booster

In this human study which lasted for 3 months, 1,000 mg/day of Butea
Superba was able to increase testosterone levels by 11% in men with erectile
dysfunction.
One of the active compounds in Butea Superba (3,7,3Trihydroxy-4methoxyflavone) is a strong cAMP phosphodiesterase inhibitor, meaning that
it prevents the inactivation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), which
is a secondary messenger between cells and hormones. In theory this should
increase testosterone.

Health Benefits of Butea Superba

Male Energy and Enhancement: Most of the attention for Butea superba
does come from men, and with good reason. The phytoandrogens found in
such high supply within the herb mimic male hormones, which gives men
faster recovery times, increased muscle tone, strength, and energy.
While women can benefit from the herb for other health issues, there isnt
much good that male hormone-mimicking substances would do in their body
in terms of sexual performance.
Heart Health: There are a number of phytonutrients and flavonoids that
directly access cardiovascular function, helping to combat heart disease and

cholesterol levels. Although the exact pathways are not completely

understood, it is clear that cholesterol is more balanced in individuals who use
butea superba and rebalance their hormonal levels. Hormones are a very
important part of all bodily functions, including the activities of the heart.
Hair Loss: A similarly stimulating effect can also be found for men who are
suffering from hair loss or thinning. Similar to saw palmetto extracts, butea
superba stimulates certain elements of males that causes hair re-growth and
strengthening, a long-awaited solution to an endless problem.
Erectile Dysfunction: Sexual performance isnt only limited to energy and
physical fitness as erectile dysfunction affects millions of men, both young and
old. Butea superba has shown a remarkable ability, both in modern research
and traditional usage, to stimulate the sexual libido, encouraging stronger
orgasms, increased blood flow, and higher chances of conception.
Bone Health: Other studies unrelated to sexual performance have shown a
marked increase in bone strength and bone mineral density with consumption
of butea superba, perhaps due to its influence on nutrient uptake efficiency in
the gut. This makes butea superba important for people suffering from
osteoporosis and other degenerative bone diseases.
Anti-Inflammatory Activity: The anti-inflammatory properties of the many
organic compounds and substances found in the butea superba herb make it
an ideal treatment approach for arthritis or other inflammatory conditions,
such as gout or even hemorrhoids.
Cancer Treatment: There have been early studies conducted on potential
anti-carcinogenic activity of certain compounds in butea superba. By
preventing a certain enzymatic reaction from occurring within the body, Butea
superba can keep cancerous cells from dividing and multiplying, thereby
being a possible treatment for halting the spread of cancerous tissues and
cells.
A Final Word of Warning: Women who are pregnant or nursing are not
recommended to use butea superba, as its full effects are unknown, and its
effects on hormonal balance could be dangerous. Before adding such a
powerful supplement to your daily or weekly regiment, speak to your medical
professional to ensure that taking butea superba is appropriate or necessary
Butea Superba (Red Kwao Krua) - herb extract for sexual enhancement
and its use in aphrodisiac formulas, by Ray Sahelian, M.D.
Research information, benefit and side effects - Feb 28 2015
Butea superba is a plant found in Thailand. Butea herb is used by middle
aged and older Thai men as a tonic and for sexual enhancement. I have not
come across any studies that butea superba cream or capsules lead to breast
enlargement. You will find this herb added to aphrodisiac herbal products for
sexual enhancement purposes.
Mechanism of action, how it works

Very little Western research is available on butea. One study indicates that
butea superba has some anticholinesterase activity. This would mean that it
can increase levels of acetylcholine in the body. Acetylcholine is known to be
involved with erectile function and memory. It could also have an influence on
testosterone release but more research is needed.
Benefits and properties, aphrodisiac, erectile dysfunction, sexual
enhancement
Butea superba is used as a sexual enhancer in Asia, particularly Thailand to
enhance sexual desire. One human trial shows it can improve erectile function
in males (see below). Another study showed that when butea herb (the
frondosa koen species) was given to male rats, they mounted female rats
more often and they also ejaculated more frequently.

Krua (Pueraria mirifica) is a Thai phytoestrogen-rich plant that has been used
for a long time as a herbal medicine. The related plant, Red Kwao Krua
(Butea superba), is abundantly distributed in the Thai deciduous forest and
has been popular among Thai males for the purpose of rejuvenation and
increasing sexual vigor.
The tuberous roots of Thai butea superba were found to contain flavonoid and
flavonoid glycoside with cAMP phosphodiesterase inhibitor activity as well as
sterol compounds, including beta-sitosterol, campesterol and stigmasterol.
However, the Indian Butea superba stem contains flavone glycoside and
flavonol glycoside with no reports on its use for male sexual purposes. Butea
superba contains a high cAMP phosphodiesterase inhibitor activity, which was
directly related to corpus cavernosal vasodilation.
To study the effect of Butea superba on erectile dysfunction in Thai males. A
3-month randomized double-blind clinical trial was carried out in volunteers
with erectile dysfunction, aged 30 years approximately 70 years, to evaluate
the therapeutic effect of the crude preparation of Butea superba tubers on
erectile dysfunction. Estimation of the sexual record indicated that 82% of the
patients exhibited noticeable improvement.
Hematology and blood chemistry analysis revealed no apparent change. The
plant preparation appears to improve the erectile function in impotence
patients without apparent toxicity.

Aphrodisiac activity of Butea frondosa extract in male rats.Phytomedicine.
2004.In the present study, the aphrodisiac activity of Butea frondonsa bark
extract was investigated. The extract was administered orally by gavage for
28 days. Mount latency (ML), intromission latency (IL), ejaculation latency
(EL), mounting frequency (MF), intromission frequency (IF), ejaculation
frequency (EF) and post-ejaculatory interval (PEI) were the parameters
observed before and during the sexual behavior study.
The extract reduced significantly ML, IL, EL and PEI. The butea extract also
increased significantly MF, IF and EF. These effects were observed in sexually
active and inactive male rats.
Side effects of butea superba.
Research in rodents does not indicate butea superba to have any significant
side effects, but long term human studies are not yet available. In my
experience, almost every sexual enhancing herb has a side effect when used
in a high dosage.

20, 200 and 1,000 mg / kg / day were fed to male rats for 9 weeks.
The results showed that 1,000 mg / kg / day of butea superba solution was
significantly more effective in inducing the formation of micronuclei in
polychromatic erythrocytes than the control, whereas dominant lethal test
indicated that none of the doses had a toxic effect on male reproduction.
There were no abnormal changes in the number of implantation sites and the
number of dead fetuses produced by females that had mated with butea
superba treated males in comparison with the controls. In addition, the Red
Gwow Kreur solutions had no effect on the body weights of the treated rats.

superba herb suspended in distilled water by a gastric tube at the dose of 2,
25, 250 and 1250 mg/kg body weight for 8 weeks. The weights of all vital
organs in all treated groups were not different from the control.
The percentage weight ratios of body weights of seminal vesicles and
prostate glands were not different from the control, except that the testis of the
group fed with 1250 mg/kg was significantly different from the control and the
other treated groups. In addition, the sperm counts in this group showed
about 16% more than the control group.
Hematology as well as the liver and kidney function of all treated groups
showed no difference from the control. Butea superba, drug at 250 mg/kg
which was 100 times more than the Thai FDA recommended dose for humans
appeared to be safe in rats. Butea superba herb increased testis weight and
sperm counts.
Antimicrobial properties
Compounds within butea superba have antimicrobial activity against several
organisms.
Availability
Butea superba herb is sold as raw powder and in different potency extracts
including a 4 to 1 extract and even as high as a 30 to 1 extract although it is
not easy to know which companies products are reliable. Most often you will
find it as part of sexual enhancing herbal formulas.

the extracts showed the AChE inhibitory activity below 50%.
Testimonial:
I tried lots of herbal products for sexual problems that did nothing, until I tried
the butea superba. It works like the Passion Rx does in that you don't get the
maximal effects for about a day or so. But, taking it every 2nd or 3rd day
allowed me to perform at anytime. It was so much better than Viagra, no
side effects.
Same customer a few weeks later writes: We had a product up here called
Bell Magnum Bullets, manufactured by a Canadian company that worked
wonders for me. I was able to take one capsule every second day and it
allowed me the spontaniety to be able to perform at anytime. The Canadian
Gov't banned it saying that the product could be harmful to people who use
nitrates, much the same way as Viagra.
The manufacturer prompted legal action to keep the Bullets but of course the
Gov't won out. I believe it was the butea that was alarming the Gov't. They
said they did not have enough info on it, so they could not take any chances.
I don't want anything that you have to "Time" before planned activity. I found
the Bullets took about 8 hours to feel the desired effects, and it would last for
a few days. With Passion Rx, it takes longer to kick in, but once it does, the
libido effects are stronger. So, to compare, I liked the Bullets in that I knew in
time of about 6-8 hours the effects would be there, and for over a day or so,
but the libido feeling is stronger with Passion once it kicks in.
I've done research on butea, and it is an herb, used for many years in Asia as
an effective aphrodisiac, and proven safe as well. It's just that in the West, not
enough research has been done.

Siberian Ginseng

Siberian ginseng is a plant. People use the root of the plant to make medicine.
Siberian ginseng is often called an adaptogen. This is a non-medical term
used to describe substances that can supposedly strengthen the body and
increase general resistance to daily stress. In addition to being used as an
adaptogen, Siberian ginseng is used for conditions of the heart and blood
vessels such as high blood pressure, low blood pressure, hardening of the
arteries (atherosclerosis), and rheumatic heart disease.
It is also used for kidney disease, Alzheimers disease, attention deficithyperactivity disorder (ADHD), chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes,
fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, flu, colds, chronic bronchitis, and
tuberculosis. It is also used for treating the side effects of cancer
chemotherapy.
Some people use Siberian ginseng to improve athletic performance and the
ability to do work. They also use it to treat sleep problems (insomnia) and the
symptoms of infections caused by herpes simplex type 2. It is also used to
boost the immune system, prevent colds, and increase appetite. In
manufacturing, Siberian ginseng is added to skin care products.
Dont confuse Siberian ginseng with other types of ginseng. Siberian ginseng
is not the same herb as American or Panax ginseng. Be careful about which
product you choose.
American and Panax ginseng can be a lot more expensive. It is said that
years ago, the Soviet Union wanted to provide its athletes with the
advantages offered by ginseng but wanted a less expensive version. So,
Siberian ginseng became popular, and this is why most studies on Siberian
ginseng have been done in Russia.
You should know that the quality of Siberian ginseng products varies a lot.
Siberian ginseng is often misidentified or contains adulterants, which are
other ingredients that do not contribute to the benefit of the product, but take
up space in the product. Silk vine is a common adulterant of Siberian ginseng.
How does it work?
Siberian ginseng contains many chemicals that affect the brain, immune
system, and certain hormones. It might also contain chemicals that have

activity against some bacteria and viruses.

Siberian Ginseng, a relatively new addition to Western natural medicine, has
quickly gained a reputation similar to that of the better, known and more
expensive Korean Ginseng. Unlike many herbs with a medicinal use, it is
more useful for maintaining good health rather than treating ill health.
Research has shown that it stimulates resistance to stress and so it is now
widely used as a tonic in times of stress and pressure. Regular use is said to
restore vigor, improve the memory and increase longevity. It has been used
during convalescence and in the treatment of menopausal problems, geriatric
debility, physical and mental stress and a wealth of other ailments.
Siberian Ginseng or Eleuthero has been used in China for 2000 years as a
folk remedy for bronchitis, heart ailments, and rheumatism, and as a tonic to
restore vigor, improve general health, restore memory, promote healthy
appetite, and increase stamina. Referred to as ci wu ju in Chinese medicine,
it was used to prevent respiratory tract infections as well as colds and flu. It
was also believed to provide energy and vitality. In Russia, eleuthero was
originally used by people in the Taiga region of Siberia to increase
performance and quality of life and to decrease infections.
The ability of Siberian Ginseng to increase stamina and endurance led Soviet
Olympic athletes to use it to enhance their training. Explorers, divers, sailors,
and miners used eleuthero to prevent stress-related illness. After the
Chernobyl accident, many Siberian citizens were given eleuthero to
counteract the effects of radiation.
They are classified to the group of adaptogens, which raise resistance to
various negative factors: physical, chemical, biological and psychological. The
preparations stimulate physical and mental ability, raise the organism
resistance at various kinds of sicknesses, poisoning, irradiation. They
stimulate the central nervous system sex glands activities, decrease sugar
and cholesterol level in blood, improve appetite, sharpen sight and hearing.
Siberian Ginseng produces a comprehensive strengthening and toning
impact; it has been recommended in treating various neural diseases,
impotence, lung ailments, medium forms of diabetes mellitus, and malignant
tumours. The results of pharmacological investigations of Siberian Ginseng
have been summarised by I. V. Dardymov and E. l. Khasina (1993) in their
book. The authors postulate that effects of Siberian Ginseng on the body,
which involve an energy-mobilizing impact primarily through intensified
utilization of glucose and a stress-protective effect conditioned by change in
central nervous system and hormonal regulation. In an alarming situation, the
adrenal glands release corticosteroids and adrenaline, which prepare the
organism for the fight or flight reaction.
When these hormones are depleted, the organism reaches an exhaustive
phase. Siberian Ginseng delays the exhaustive phase and can allow a more
economical and efficient release of these hormones. Another way that

Siberian Ginseng reduces stress on the body is to combat harmful toxins. It

has shown a protective effect in animal studies, against chemicals such as
ethanol, sodium barbital, tetanus toxoid, and chemotherapeutic agents.
Siberian Ginseng can also reduce the side effects of radiation exposure.
Siberian Ginseng has been shown to have neuro protective effects against
breast (mammary gland) carcinoma, stomach carcinoma, oral cavity
carcinoma, skin melanoma and ovarian carcinoma. It was found to have a
pronounced effect on T lymphocytes, predominantly of the helper/inducer
type, but also on cytotoxic and natural killer cells. Its active ingredients may
also be of use in combating herpes simplex type II infections.
Germany's Commission E approved Siberian Ginseng as a tonic in times of
fatigue and debility, declining capacity for work or concentration, and during
convalescence. Other uses for Siberian Ginseng are for chronic inflammatory
conditions and traditionally for functional asthenia (Bruneton, 1995). Siberian
Ginseng has also been reported to increase stamina and endurance and
protect the body systems against stress-induced illness and fatigue.
Siberian Ginseng has been shown to enhance mental acuity and physical
endurance without the letdown that comes with caffeinated products.
Research has shown that Siberian Ginseng improves the use of oxygen by
the exercising muscle. This means that a person is able to maintain aerobic
exercise longer and recovery from workouts is much quicker.
Other findings that are more positive have resulted from animal and human
studies of Siberian Ginseng. Chemicals in Siberian Ginseng appear to
produce moderate reductions in blood sugar and blood cholesterol levels and
modest improvements in memory and concentration. Siberian Ginseng may
also have mild estrogenic effects. In laboratory studies, various chemicals
found in eleuthero have also shown antiviral and anticancer properties, but
these effects have not been well studied in humans.
Several studies were conducted to evaluate the effects of Siberian Ginseng
on eye conditions and color distinction. One study evaluated the pre and
postoperative effects of Siberian Ginseng extract (1.5 ml twice daily) on 282
male or female patients suffering from primary glaucoma (102 cases) and eye
burns (58 cases). Beneficial effects were noted in both treatments. Siberian
Ginseng was also found beneficial in 122 cases of myopia treatment (Zaikova,
1968).
In 50 patients with normal trichromatic vision a single dose of Siberian
Ginseng extract (2 ml) stimulated color distinction (red and green) within 30 to
60 minutes after ingestion. Maximum effect was reached in six to seven hours
and persisted for a minimum of 29 hours (Sosnova, 1969).

Immune System
Evidence is also mounting that Siberian Ginseng enhances and supports the

immune response. Siberian Ginseng may be useful as a preventive measure

during cold and flu season. Recent evidence also suggests that Siberian
Ginseng may prove valuable in the long-term management of various
diseases of the immune system, including HIV infection, chronic fatigue
syndrome, and autoimmune illnesses such as lupus.
In perhaps the most convincing study carried out so far, B. Bohn and coworkers in Heidelberg, West Germany looked at immune parameters in 18
individuals in a randomised, double-blind fashion for a total of four weeks. The
subjects in this study had venous blood drawn both before and after
Eleutherococcus Senticosus administration, and the samples were analysed
by flow cytometry, which counted absolute numbers of immune cells present
in their blood.
Overall, the Eleutherococcus Senticosus group showed an absolute increase
in all immune cells measured. Total T-cell numbers advanced by 78 per cent,
T helper/inducer cells went up by 80 per cent, cytotoxic Ts by 67 percent, and
NK cells by 30 per cent, compared to the control group. B Lymphocytes,
which are cells that produce antibodies against infectious organisms,
expanded by 22 per cent in the Eleutherococcus Senticosus subjects,
compared to controls.
Most importantly, no side effects were noted in the Eleutherococcus
Senticosus subjects up to five months after Eleutherococcus Senticosus
administration ended.
The researchers stated: 'We conclude from our data that Eleutherococcus
senticosus exerts a strong immune modulatory effect in healthy normal
subjects.'

Saw Palmetto

Saw Palmetto - is a plant. Its ripe fruit is used to make medicine. Saw
palmetto is best known for its use in decreasing symptoms of an enlarged
prostate (benign prostatic hypertrophy, BPH). According to many research
studies, it is effective for this use. It is a short, scrubby palm that grows in the
coastal plain of Florida and other southeastern states.
Its fan-shaped leaves have sharp, saw-toothed edges that give the plant its
name. Dense clumps of saw palmetto can form an impenetrable thicket. The
abundant 2-cm-long berries are harvested from the wild in the fall and are
dried for medicinal use. They also serve as a source of nutrition for deer,
bears, and wild pigs.
What is it used for?
Traditional / Ethno botanical uses
Native tribes of Florida relied on saw palmetto berries for food; however,
Europeans often disliked the taste. While native medicinal use of saw
palmetto is not recorded, it was introduced into Western medical practice in
the 1870s and was a favorite of Eclectic medical practitioners for prostate and
other urologic conditions.
Saw palmetto berries were officially included in the US Pharmacopeia in 1906
and 1916, and in the National Formulary from 1926 to 1950. While use in the
United States declined after that time, saw palmetto has long been a staple
phyto medicine in Europe.
Prostate / Urinary effects
Recent interest has been rekindled, and saw palmetto currently is ranked in
the top 10 herbal products in the US. It is used primarily for its activity in
benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Saw palmetto is used to treat symptoms of BPH, including reducing urinary
frequency, increasing urinary flow, and decreasing nighttime urination. Saw
palmetto may delay the need for prostate surgery. The mechanism of action of
saw palmetto is unknown.

What is the recommended dosage?

The crude saw palmetto berries usually are administered at 1 to 2 g/day.

However, lipophilic extracts standardized to 85% to 95% fatty acids in soft
native extract or 25% fatty acids in a dry extract are more common. Some of
the brand name products include Permixon, Prostaserene, Prostagutt,
Remigeron, Quanterra Prostate, and LG 166/S. Typical dosages of
standardized extracts range from 100 to 400mg given twice daily for benign
prostatic hypertrophy.

How safe is it?

Contraindications
Contraindications have not yet been identified.
Pregnancy / Nursing
Information regarding safety and efficacy in pregnancy and lactation is
lacking. Avoid use.
Interactions
Increased blood thinning by warfarin was reported while using saw palmetto.
However, this may have been caused by something other than saw palmetto.
Until more data are available, patients taking warfarin should consult their
health care provider before taking saw palmetto or other alternative medicine
products.
Side Effects
Saw palmetto is generally well tolerated, with occasional reports of adverse GI
effects. Because of well-documented hormone-blocking activity, avoid taking
with any hormone therapy, including oral contraceptive and hormone
replacement therapy.
Toxicities
Research reveals little or no information regarding toxicology with the use of
saw palmetto.

Yohimbe

Yohimbe is the name of an evergreen tree found in parts of central and

western Africa. The bark of yohimbe contains a chemical called yohimbine,
which is used to make medicine. Yohimbine hydrochloride (Aphrodyne,
Yocon) is a form of yohimbine that is a prescription drug in the US.
Yohimbe supplements often list yohimbe bark extract or yohimbine as the
active ingredient. However, some of these products might not provide
accurate information about the amount of yohimbine in the supplement. Also,
some yohimbe supplements list yohimbine hydrochloride as an active
ingredient.
Yohimbe is taken by mouth to arouse sexual excitement, for erectile
dysfunction (ED), sexual problems caused by medications for depression
called selective-serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and general sexual
problems in both men and women. It is also used for athletic performance,
weight loss, exhaustion, chest pain, high blood pressure, low blood pressure
that occurs when standing up, diabetic nerve pain, and for depression along
with certain other medications.
How does it work?
Yohimbe contains a chemical called yohimbine which can increase blood flow
and nerve impulses to the penis or vagina. It also helps counteract the sexual
side effects of certain medications used for depression.
Yohimbe dilates the blood vessels and can lower blood pressure, says Dr.
Patrick M. Fratellone, an integrated physician with a practice in Manhattan. So
experts figured, if it can do that, it must give you an erection and treat erectile
dysfunction.
Some proponents say that yohimbe extracts are powerful antioxidants that
can prevent heart attacks, act as a stimulant and an anti-depressant, and an
aid to weight loss. Here, a closer look at the key benefits:
N
N
N
N

Treats erectile dysfunction:

N
N In some countries, the extract is used as a prescription drug to treat erectile
dysfunction. A 2002 study in Germany found that pro-erectile effects of the
bark extract may predominantly be caused by the yohimbe. But its unclear if
the yohimbe is enough on its own to help.
Aids in fat loss:
Yohimbe and other alkaloids in the bark extract are said to block specific
receptors that actually inhibit fat loss. A three-week study in 1991 observed 20
obese females on 1,000-calorie diets. They were given 20 mg of yohimbe
each day and lost three pounds more than the group receiving placebos.
Not a drastic weight loss, but enough to give experts hope that yohimbe can
help with weight loss. Other studies have found that yohimbe increases the
amount of non-esterified fatty acids, a result of fat breaking down. More
research is needed. Most other studies in the field are done using the drug
yohimbe. Extracted chemicals are not the same as yohimbe bark. Studies
with yohimbe are expected to give different results than studies that used the
raw plant.

Gingko Biloba
Ginkgo biloba, also known as Maidenhair, has been traced back nearly 300
million years making it the oldest surviving tree species on earth! The Chinese
have used the plant medicinally for eons but many of the modern applications
come from the research of German scientists. Ginkgo is a prescription herb in
Germany. It is especially good when combined with Siberian Ginseng.
Ginkgo extract has proven benefits to elderly persons. This ancient herb acts
to enhance oxygen utilization and thus improves memory, concentration, and
other mental faculties. The ginkgo extract may provide relief for persons with
headache, sinusitis, and vertigo. It may also help relieve chronic ringing in the
ears known as tinnitus.
In studies, Ginkgo biloba has been reported as demonstrating anti-oxidant
abilities with improvements of the platelet and nerve cell functions and blood
flow to the nervous system and brain.
It has also been reported as reducing blood viscosity. It's ability to increase
vascular dilation, may help reduce retinal damage due to macular degradation
and may reverse deafness caused by reduced blood flow.
Recently, extensive research on the herb has been conducted on the healing
properties of the leaf extract. Germany and France have run literally hundreds
of studies on the leaf extract. These studies along with similar studies in
America, have shown significant results.
The extract of Ginkgo biloba has been studied for its effectiveness in the
treatment of Acrocyanosis, Alzheimer's disease, Cerebral atherosclerosis,
Cerebral insufficiencies, Cochlear deafness, Dementia, Depression,
Menopause, Peripheral and cerebral circulatory stimulation, Peripheral
vascular disease, Raynaud's syndrome, Retinopathy, Senility, Short-term
memory loss, Tinnitus, Vascular Diseases, and Vertigo.

It is said to be effective in improving the blood flow to the hands and the feet
as well as stimulating the brain and reducing short-term memory loss. It

increases blood flow to the brain, the uptake of glucose by brain cells, and
has been said to improve the transmission of nerve signals.
Depression
Patients suffering from varying degrees of vascular insufficiency also noted an
improvement in mood while taking ginkgo biloba extract. Many people have
found GBE to enhance other depression treatments and to often even prevent
the need for pharmaceutical treatments in mild cases of depression. Those
under the age of fifty may also benefit from ginkgo biloba's antidepressant
effects. So far though, the greatest level of improvement has been noted with
older patients.
Alzheimer's & Mental Function
As more than 300 studies demonstrate, ginkgo facilitates better blood flow
through out the body, most notably the brain, where it both protects and
promotes memory and mental function, even for people with Alzheimer's
disease. It also offers a wealth of possibilities in the treatment of many other
common ailments.
Antioxidant Properties
Although oxygen is essential for life, it can have adverse effects on your body.
Unstable oxygen molecules can often be created during our body's normal
break down and use of oxygen or can form in response to external factors and
pollutants. These unstable molecules, called free radicals, can damage cells
and structures within cells. If the genetic material in cells is affected and not
repaired, it can replicate in new cells, contributing to cancer and other health
problems.
These free radicals may also weaken artery walls, allowing fatty deposits that
can lead to heart disease. As an antioxidant, ginkgo biloba combats free
radicals and repairs molecular damage. A great deal of research suggests that
antioxidants such as GBE may play important roles in preventing or delaying
heart disease, cancer and other ills. Antioxidants may even halt the damage
to cells, thereby slowing the effects of aging.
Impotency
Another use for ginkgo biloba is in the treatment of impotency. The main
cause of male impotence is poor circulation and impaired blood flow through
the penis, which is often the result of atherosclerosis. Since ginkgo biloba
increases blood flow, it's been found to help up to fifty percent of patients after
six months of use.
Raynaud's disease
Raynaud's disease is believed to be caused by blood vessels that over react
to the cold and spasm, reducing blood flow and thereby depriving extremities
of oxygen. Ginkgo biloba may help this condition by widening the small blood
vessels, which would keep these spasms from completely blocking the blood
flow.
Disease

The lack of dopamine is believed to produce the progressive stiffness,

shaking and loss of muscle coordination typical in Parkinson's disease.
Doctor's theorize that along with other treatments, Ginkgo biloba may help
symptoms by increasing the brain's blood flow and thereby allowing more of
the depleted dopamine to be circulated to the areas that need it most.
Other Conditions
Other uses for which ginkgo biloba extract is often recommended includes
depression, diabetes related nerve damage and poor circulation, allergies,
vertigo, short-term memory loss, headache, atherosclerosis, tinnitus, cochlear
deafness, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and PMS.
Strokes
Scientists continue to study the prevention and treatment benefits to stroke
patients that are attributed to GBE. It's believed that by preventing blood clots
from developing and increasing the blood flow to the brain, ginkgo biloba may
help stop strokes from occurring. It's also believed that the herb inhibits freeradical damage of brain cells after a stroke.
Multiple sclerosis & Organ transplant
GBE also appears to have an anti-inflammatory action that may make it
valuable in the future for conditions such as multiple sclerosis and organ
transplants.

Horny Goat Weed

Horny Goat Weed is an herb (Epimedium) that is known for being an
aphrodisiac and touted as a Testosterone Booster. It derives its layman
names from goats and sheep who acted a bit more frisky after consuming
Epimedium that grew near their fields. It is also sometimes referred to by, its
active ingredient Icariin.
Icariin is known as a prenylated flavonoid compound and has been shown to
exert much of the aphrodisiac effects of Horny Goat Weed. It has also been
shown in one rat study to increase Testosterone levels at a rather high dose,
and moderate dosages are shown to be beneficial for bone health.
Icariin has not been shown to increase testosterone in females, yet two other
compounds in Horny Goat Weed (Icaritin, Desmethylicaritin) have actually
increased Estrogen in post-menopausal females. The herb acts as an
aphrodisiac in both genders, and the gender-specific hormone increasing
could be beneficial for both genders.
Some men take horny goat weed in the belief that its a natural alternative to
drugs for erectile dysfunction (ED). Although still preliminary, theres new
evidence to support the idea. A 2008 lab study found that a compound in the
herb blocks the effects of an enzyme that restricts blood flow to the penis.
Epimedium, the suspected active component of horny goat weed, appears to
act as a phosphordiesterase inhibitor, similar to some drugs used for ED.
Whats more, the study indicated that horny goat weed could theoretically
work better and cause fewer side effects than current drugs for erectile
dysfunction.
Behind the funny name of horny goat weed stands a time-tested aphrodisiac
that increases libido in men and women, and improves erectile function in
men.

Known also as Epimedium or Yin Yang Huo, horny goat weed was first
described in ancient classical Chinese medicinal texts. Today, horny goat
weed holds an important place in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is gaining
popularity around the world.
Used by practitioners for over 2,000 years, horny goat weed is several
species of epimedium, a leafy plant which grows in the wild, most abundantly
at higher altitudes. The leaves of the plant contain a variety of flavonoids,
polysaccharides, sterols and an alkaloid called magnaflorine. And while the
exact way that horny goat weed works remains unknown, the plant has long
been employed to restore sexual fire, boost erectile function, allay fatigue and
alleviate menopausal discomfort.

Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa

Once you have erectile dysfunction or have just ejaculated, the levels of
cGMP in your body are extremely low as a result of the enzyme PDE-5
breaking down cGMP.
Cyclic Guanosine Monophosphate (cGMP) is the key in obtaining and
sustaining a powerful erection.cGMP relaxes the muscles around the penis,
which makes it possible for the cells in the penis to take in blood, thus allows
you to experience a proper erection. Your body contains an enzyme called
Phosphodiesterase-V (PDE-5) which binds to and destroys cGMP.
Benefit from Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa and Its Mechanisms:
Finally a breakthrough in science has allowed our team of biochemists to
create a product that is a truly safe and effective alternative to the extremely
expensive and potentially dangerous prescription drug Viagra:
Xanthoparmelia scabrosa improved sexual performance, increases sexual
confidence, increases stamina, increases sexual drive and desire, supports
healthy sexual drive and desire, increased blood flow to the sexual organs.
It also increases levels of the hormone responsible for sexual function and
supports healthy levels of the hormone responsible for sexual function.
Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa induces smooth muscle relaxation to allow for
increased blood flow and maximum arterial dilation and works fast for both,
male and female.
Xanthoparmelia scabrosa extract induces smooth muscle relaxation, leading
to an increase in blood flow to the penis and makes it stay erect longer and
delays the flaccid state.

Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa greatly inhibits the production of PDE-5 allowing for

sustained erections. Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa (Natural form of Pyrazolo
Pyrimidinone)- induces smooth muscle relaxation, allowing for maximum
arterial dilation and increased bloodflow.
Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa, induces smooth muscle relaxation, allowing for
maximum arterial dilation and increased blood flow to the penis.
Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa is a natural source of Pyrazolo pyrimidinone, a core
component of leading prescription medications for impotence.
Its extract is a natural stimulant-free pro sexual herb developed to increase
erectile quality and sexual stamina. Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa extract
contains only the finest phytochemicals shown to relax penile blood vessels
for better erections while increasing sexual energy and endurance.
Longer lasting erection:
In turn cGMP relaxes the muscles around the penis, which makes it possible
for the cells in the penis to take in blood, thus allowing you to experience a
longer lasting erection. Also in your body is the enzyme Phosphodiesterase-V
(PDE-5)
Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa naturally contains the substances 4Methylpiperazine and Pyrazolo Pyrimidin-7-1. These substances delay the
work of the PDE-5 enzymes, so that the penis erect longer and delays the
flaccid state. Xanthoparmelia scabrosa improves the libido and guarantees
that you acheive longer lasting erection.
Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa, a lichen said to be a natural source of a pyrimidine
compound found in leading prescription medications for erectile dysfunction
that inhibits PDE-5 enzyme that binds to and breaks down cGMP, the smooth
muscle relaxer produced by NO. With PDE-5 inhibited, cGMP allows the penis
or clitoris to remain filled with blood. May benefit general circulation.
