Essay Questions

Please answer all of the following questions on separate paper. Answers must be typed.
Questions 1-7 require answers of a few sentences and 8 requires an answer of 500 words.

1. Why are you applying to become an Africa Project, Inc. Volunteer?

2. What do you think will be the most difficult thing about living and working in a poor city or
rural African village?

3. How will you raise the funds necessary to become a volunteer? What community
fundraising activities have you planned, if any? Africa Project, Inc., does not provide
funding for internship or volunteer opportunities.

4. On what grounds did you select the position(s) and sector(s) to which you are applying, as
you specified on page one of the application? Explain how your previous skills and
experiences will enhance your volunteer work. If you do not have experience in your chosen
field, explain how your participation will benefit the organization and the community that
you will be serving.

5. What does the term “Development” and “Charitable” assistance mean to you personally?
