Bou Family Foundation Grant


For International Graduate Students in F-1 and J-1 Status
Spring 2014 Application Form

The Bou Family Foundation Grant assists international graduate students with educational expenses. The selection process
is based on financial need, as well as the applicants contributions to serve others, and the applicants professional goals
following graduation. The following eligibility requirements must be met prior to submission of this application. Applicants
must:
have begun graduate studies no later than the fall 2013 semester
be currently enrolled in a Georgetown University graduate degree program
have a GPA of 3.5 or higher
be completing studies after November 30, 2014
be eligible for enrollment in the fall 2014 semester
be in valid F-1 or J-1 status with an immigration document issued by Georgetown University.

Four $2,500 awards are available. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the middle of June and the award will be
credited to the student account during the 2014-2015 academic year. For further information, please contact Rachel Rubin

To Apply

Submit the entire application, including this page, in a single packet at the OIP reception desk, with the following documents:
An unofficial copy of your transcript, which may be obtained through Student Access +. Please write your name on
the transcript, if it does not appear. Email your final spring 2014 grades to Rachel Rubin at rubinr@georgetown.edu
as soon as they become available in May. Students who do not submit spring grades will no longer be considered for
an award.
A one-page, detailed essay describing your financial situation and how this award would assist you. Include a
description of any other financial assistance that you have applied for or expect to receive in the next academic year.
A second one-page, detailed essay outlining any significant contributions you have made to serve others, either at
Georgetown or in the wider community, and your professional goals following graduation.
A letter of recommendation from a Georgetown University faculty or staff member supporting your request for the
Bou Family Foundation Grant. This letter must give insight into your character, not only your academic standing.
A CV and copy of your personal statement from your Georgetown Graduate School application.

Applications will be accepted from April 1 to April 30, 2014 at noon. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
