Introduction

The Reiki Third Degree is the most exciting part of this amazing healing system.

TraditionalvNonTraditionalApproaches

There is a great deal of discussion in traditional and nontraditional Reiki circles as to who
shouldhavetheThirdDegree.Intraditionalthinking,theMasterDegreeshouldbegivenonly
topeoplewillingandabletodedicatetheirlivestoReiki.Thecandidatewouldbescreened
carefully over a number of years and must wait several years between Reiki II and Reiki III
trainingandattunements.ThestudentwouldnotbepermittedtoaskforReikiIII,butwould
havetowaitforittobeofferedbyanalreadyinitiatedandteachingMasterwhohadbeena
longtermmentorandteachertothestudent.TheaveragecostfortheMasterattunement
wasUS$10,000andthestudentwouldberequiredtoapprenticewiththeMasterforayear
after receiving the attunement. During this year the student would be an assistant to the
Masterexpectedtoarrangetheclassesandtakeonanyotherworkneededtobedoneforno
pay whatsoever. Once the student had received the attunement and wished to begin
teaching, the Master would insist on attending the first few initiations and would expect to
receivetheclassfees!InadditionthenewMasterwouldonlybeallowedtoteachReikiIat
first and only much later Reiki II. For many years it was believed that only Mrs Takata, as
GrandMaster,couldattuneMasters.Duringthelasttenyearsofherlifebetween1970and
1980MrsTakataattunedonly22Mastersinthetraditionalapprenticeshipway.

Given the cost, exclusivity and the time taken very few students are therefore traditionally
attunedtoLevelIII.Andofcourseformanyyearsthenaturalgrowthofreikiwasrestrictedas
Masters were not attuning other Masters, possibly because of a misunderstanding. For the
longevityofReikiandthegoodoftheEarth(andherinhabitants)the'traditional'systemhas
itsownwaythatisrightforsomeandotherformsarebetterforothers.

NontraditionalmethodReikiTeachers,suchasmyself,workatlowerpricesandteachThird
Degreewithlessrestrictions.ThisistotallyinlinewiththeAquarianageandthenewenergies
nowcomingtoearth,thearrivalofthenewmillenniumandtheyear2012.

TheReikicommunitycontinuestogrowandexpandwithmoreandmoreMastersbecoming
attuned.ObviouslysomeMastershavemoreknowledgeandawarenessthanothersandthis
shouldbeacknowledged.Therearenowmanyorganisationsandsometimesthereseemsto
be little or no dialogue between Traditional organisations and nontraditional Reiki
Master/Teacherswhooftentermsthemselves'independent.

TheReikiAssociation,theReikiAllianceandtheReikiFederationarethemaingroupswithin
the Reiki community. The Alliance was formed just after the death of Mrs Takata and
introducedmanynewrulesandregulationsintothe'traditional'style.Bytheveryactofdoing
thisthe'traditional'systemwaschanged.DrUsuialwaystaughtReikiinaveryflexibleway.
The threetier attunement system was introduced by Dr Chujiro Hyashi who personally felt
that more 'structure' was required. Mrs Takata had her own ideas on how Reiki should be
taughtanditwasherdecisiontointroducethehighfees.

MrsTakata'sgranddaughter,MsPhyllisFurumoto,hasstatedinaninterviewbyWilliamRand,
that:

'As Grand Master, I have no additional Reiki power, no additional symbols or attunement
techniques,andnoauthorityoverotherReikipractitioners.SooftenitseemsthatmanyReiki
Mastersandpractitionersareoverlysensitivetothingslikelineage,certificatesandmembership
pfthe"right"organisation.

Theimportantthingis:DoyouknowwithinyourselfthatyouareconnectedtoReikiifyoudo,
thennothingelsematters?

TheReikiAssociationandFederationsintheUKappearstobeblendsofTraditionalandNon
TraditionalMastersandpractitioners.

ChannelledinformationnowavailablefromReikiguidesandAscendedMastersareconfirmingthatto
thriveintheWesternworldandculturethenReikimustnaturallygrowandchangeobviouslyonlyin
verypositivewaysofcourse.ThenontraditionalmethodsIuseareverypositiveandIbelieve
enhanceandstrengthentheReikienergyinexactlytherightwaytomeetourneedsinthenew
millennium.

NonTraditionalvTraditionaltuitionandcoursecontent

Psychicskills(suchasdistancehealingandconnectingwithspiritguidesandhelpers)arenottaught
intraditionalReikiclasses.Neitherarethereanyexplanationsofhowandwhythesystemworks,
orhowKimoveswithinthebodies.Pastlivesandhealingthislifetraumaarealsonotcovered.The
Stillpoint technique, the Thymus thump, the Master's Crystal Grid are also omitted from
Traditionaltuition.TheKundaliniexperienceisplayeddown.ManyTraditionalMastersrefuse
toacceptthatReikipractitionersneedtheseadditionalskillsorexperiences.

A nontraditional Master has much more scope for assisting those who wish to become
healers.TheonlyguidelinesIwillaskyoutoadoptarethatyoutellyourstudentswhatpartofthe
tuition they are receiving is pure Reiki and why these additional skills have been added to the
curriculumtoenhancetheirabilitytocopewiththeneedsofpeopleinthisdayandage.

Why do the symbols vary so much?

Ms Furomoto has also commented on the variations between Reiki symbols. She said she
recognisedthedifferencesandstated:

'The symbols do not have to be drawn exactly alike by every teacher or practitioner but it is
importantthattheyarerecognisable.Whatiscrucialintheuseofsymbolsistheintentofthe
person initiating them. A good analogy is handwriting. Just as this varies from person to
person,wecanstillreadthewordsregardlessofthedifferences.'

The guides will make corrections where necessary on symbols that are drawn very badly
howeverIdofeelthatweshouldendeavourtokeepthesymbolsaspureaspossibleandto
showtheReikiguidesthatwearetryingourbesttohonourtheenergy!

If you are in doubt about which version of a symbol to use follow your intuition or go with
whatfeelscomfortableforyou.Alloftheversionswillwork.

Origins

LetusrememberthatReikiinitiallycametoEarthfromthestarsandwasresurrectedinIndia
and Tibet approximately three thousand years ago. Reiki travelled to China within the
BuddhistreligionandtotherestofAsiainthesameway.ReikicametotheWestviaJapan
andtheUnitedStates.Reikihasalreadyundergonealongprocessofadaptationandchange
overseveralthousandyearsandtostayaliveandexpanditwillneedtocontinuetoadapt
andchange.

Disagreements and in fighting are surely against the ethics of healing. For the good of
humanityletusallworktogetherregardlessofhowweweregiventhegiftofReiki.Reikiwas
onceuniversal.Historicallyitisknownthatwholepopulationsinsomeancientculturesreceived
the gift of Reiki. It is my hope that at some time in the future there will be more people
channelling Reiki than not channelling Reiki. The world will be a far better place whenthat
happens.

SelfresponsibilityasaTeacher

IaskthatasaTeacheryouactresponsiblywhenaskedtoperformattunements.
When giving attunements I hope you will explain to students that Reiki will initiate a clearing
process.ReikiIIwillusuallybringwithitasixmonthemotionalclearing.Itisnotagoodidea
togiveReikiIandIIclosertogetherthanthreemonthstoapersonwhohasongoingemotional
traumas.

Iwouldsuggestthataruleofthumbwouldbetowaitthreemonthsatleast,betweenReikiI
andII.ThenaminimumofsixmonthsbetweenIIandIII,howevereachcasecanbedecided
onindividually.

Being a Master brings with it many responsibilities to be honourable and worthy of the Reiki
energyandgiftsitbrings. Pleaseremainhumbleanddonotlet youregoencourageyouto
become selfimportant. Reiki has an intelligence and quality beyond anything of human
design and as teachers our responsibility and dedication is to Reiki and those we teach and
attune.Weareallonenoonebeingissuperiortoanotherontheearthplane.Partofthe
lifepurposeofatrueReikiMasteristoserveothersandheal.

The Master Symbol - Dai-Ko-Myo

TheDaiKoMyofocusesonhealingtheSpiritualBodyandtheSoul

TheDaiKoMyoisusedforhealinganditisthesymbolthat transmitstheReikiattunements. It is
uniqueinthatithastwoverydifferentwaysitcanbedrawn.Oneoftheseistermed'traditional'
theother'nontraditional'.

Man,Woman,Universe=wholeenergy

IhaveusedbothofthesesymbolsmyselfandIpreferthenontraditionalversion.Itjustfeels
'right'tomeandtheenergygeneratedismuchstrongerforme.Itisalsoquickerandeasiertodraw
andthereforemistakesarelesslikely.ItismoreeasilyflowingandIfeelthatitsspiralformaligns
perfectlywiththenaturalspirals,whichoccurinnature(justastheChoKoReidoes).

ChannelledinformationfromReikiguideshasstatedthatthenewformmorecloselyfitsthe
vibrationoftoday'steachingneeds.Theoldersymbolsfittheenergyofanoldertime.Theguides
advisedthatwemaychoosetousethemodernsymbolinpreference.Butwhynottrythembothand
choosetheoneyoufeelsuitsyouandyourneedsbest.HoweverIwouldaskthatyouteachboth
andletyourstudentsdecidewhichsymboltheywishtoadopt.

HowtoDrawtheMasterSymbols

TraditionalDaiKoMyoNontraditionalDaiKoMyo

HealingUses:

CLOCKWISE
Use clockwise in all healings whether hands on or distance. It is
generallydrawnintheheartchakraofthereceiverindistancework.
Can be drawn over the crown chakra, followed by the SeiHeKei and
ChoKuReiwhenbeginninganemotionalbodyhealing.DrawtheDaiKo
Myoagainattheendofthesequenceandagainjustbeforeyoumove
yourhandstoanotherposition.

Alwaysuseitfirst,thenfollowwithothersymbolsofyourchoice.Endthe
sequencewithanotherDaiKoMyotocreatethe'breadofthesandwich.'

ForselfhealingdrawtheDaiKoMyooveryourheartchakraandvisualise
itwiththeothersymbols.SeealsotheImmuneSystemEnergiser
exercise.

DistanceHealingTechnique.Thisisslightlydifferentwhenusingthe
DaiKoMyothantheoneyouhavebeenusingatReikiII.Beginwith
theDaiKoMyo,thentheHonShaZeShoNen,thenChoKuRei,then
SeiHeKei,andthenendthesequencewiththeDaiKoMyo.

HealingNetwork

Toassistyouwhendoing'mass'distancehealingIwouldsuggestthat
you keep a record of the names of the recipients. Add and remove
namesasnecessary.ChooseasymbolicrepresentationoftheNetwork.
Holdthissymbolicitemwhensendingthedistancehealing.
Thefollowingprayercanbeusedforthis:

Cleansingand
chargingcrystals

TheDaiKoMyomakesthecrystalselfcleansingsothatitisnot
imperative to cleanse it manually every time it has been used. You
should however still cleanse it periodically using salt water (check
withapendulumwhenthisisrequired).

Clearing and charging technique visualise all four symbols in turn


whilst holding the crystal. DaiKoMyo, HonShaZeShoNen, ChoKu
Rei,SeiHeKei.

ProgrammingcrystalschannelReikienergyintothecrystalandthen
visualise the DaiKoMyo followed by the SeiHeKei to clear it of all
previously absorbed negativity or pain. Next send the ChoKuRei to
programitbyfocusingonthechosenpurpose.Ifthecrystalistobe
used specifically for healing add the HonShaZeShoNen. Lastly
visualise the DaiKoMyo again and ask the crystal to become self
clearing

The DaiKoMyo brings about extremely powerful healing. It heals disease from its highest
source,fromitsinitialrootcause.Thespiritualbodycontainstheblueprintortemplatefromwhich
thephysicalbodyisderived.Healingatthislevelhelpsprofoundchangestotakeplace.TheDai
KoMyomorethananyotherReikisymbolcanbringabouthealing'miracles'.Iwouldsuggestthat
youwillbedrawntouseitmorefrequentlythantheothersymbolsasitisthemostpowerfulby
far. The Master symbol's healing power is greater than any other healing energy we have on
earthsofar.

TheRakuisusedonlyintheattunementprocessandfornootherpurpose.TheRakuisaSanskrit
symbolusedtogroundthereceiverafteranattunement.

It also activates the Hara line helping the student bring the Reiki energy through the Ki
channelsandgroundsitintheHaracentre(i.e..thenavel).

During the attunement process the aura of the Master and student are joined. When this
happens the Reiki guides lift negative karma from the student and this is passed into the
Master'sauraforgrounding.Thishappensautomatically.TheRakuseparatestheaurasattheend
oftheattunement.ItleavesMasterandStudentwithmoreOriginalKithantheystartedwith.
ThisreleaseofKarmaduringtheattunementprocessexplainsthephysicalandemotionalclearing
processandreleasethatoftenfollows.

PassingAttunements

TheuniqueattunementprocessofReikicanonlybedescribedasamiracletherearenowords
whichcanadequatelydescribewhathappensinthosefewsacredminutes.Eachattunement
bringsaboutmajorchangesinboththereceiverandtheMaster.

In traditional Reiki attunements (not involving Kundalini energy control techniques) there are four
separate attunements for Reiki I (sometimes each one is different, sometimes all four are the
same),andasingleattunementforReikiII.TraditionalMasterattunementsusuallyconsistofone
onlybutIhavebecomeawarerecentlythatsomeMastershavebeenusingtwo.SomeMasterswho
donotusetheKundalinicontroltechniquesorthenontraditionalDaiKoMyo,areincludingthe
TibetanMastersymbolasaseparateattunementprocess.
Iexplaintheabovesothatinfutureyouwillnotbeconfusedorsurprisedwhenyouheartalkofthe
variousmethodsutilisedbyvariousMasters.

In modem Kundalini controlled attunements only one attunement is needed for each degree.
Furthermorethesamemethodforattunementisusedforeachdegree.Thisgreatlysimplifiesthe
attunementprocessandreducesthechanceofmistakes.

TheattunementprocessactuallyopensandexpandstheKiholdingcapacityoftheHaraline and
clearsthechannelsofanyenergyblockages.TheattunementclearsandbalancestheHaraline
chakrasandthechakrasintheethericdouble.DuringtheattunementDivineKicarriesthefive
reikisymbolsfromtheCrowntothereceiver'sHeart.InadditionEarthlyKiisdrawnupthroughthe
legs and lower centres from the Hara to the Heart as well. Original Ki in the Hara centre is
replenishedandrefilled.Allofthishappensinminutes.NegativeKarmaisliftedfromthereceiver
duringtheattunementthismaybeinterpretedasarewardforbecomingahealer!

The DNA which has been broken is also healed (read the book 'Earth' by Barbara Marciniak to
understandmoreofhowwenowonlyhavetwostrandsofDNAwhereweshouldhavetwelve
strands).AllthishappensautomaticallywithoutconsciouseffortonthepartoftheMaster.All
theMasterhastoconcentrateon,isholdingtheHuiYinandthebreath,andperformingthe
handmovementsrequiredtodrawthesymbolswiththepalmchakra.

Eachpersonreceivinganattunementwillhavetheirownuniqueexperience.Someseecolours,
others connect with their guides for the first time, others feel sensations, and others may
experiencevisualscenesfrompastlives.Othersmaysimplyfeelpurejoyorecstasyandoftenthere
aretearsofjoy.Afewmaysaytheyfeltnothingatallandwonderifitworked.Checktheirhands
theyshouldbewarm.Andmakesurethateveryoneputstheirhandsdownonsomeoneelse
immediatelyafterreceivingtheattunementorhugatree.Youmayalsowanttoaskeachperson
inturniftheywouldliketosharetheirexperiencewiththegroupbutbewareifyoudodecide
todothisassomeonemayfeel'letdown'iftheydidn'thaveanearthshatteringexperience.Stress
thatmostsensationsaresubtleinnature.Thissessionmaybemoreappropriateafteralunchor
otherbreak(followingtheattunements).

AsaMasteryouwillprobablyhaveauniqueexperienceeachtimeyoupassanattunement,but
themostpervasivefeelingisoneofbeingsurroundedandfilledbyunconditionalloveandjoy,
asyourbodybecomesalighteningrodfilledwithKienergyreadytobepassedtothestudent.

The more Ki energy you can train yourself to hold the more powerful the effects of your
attunementsonyourstudents.ThediagramsexplainhowtheKimovesaroundtheMastersbody
whenpreventedfromescapingbecauseofthetongueatthetopandtheclosureoftheHuiYinat
theRootchakra.Theearthenergyfrombelowwouldnormallyescapethroughthecrownchakra.
Theheavenlyenergyfromabovenormallyleavesthebodyviathefeetchakrasandgoestoearth.
TheHuiYinpositioncausestheKitomovearoundinacirclegatheringpowerasitdoesso.

The Reiki guides and other Divine Beings are always present during the attunement process and of
courseyoucancallinanyDivineassistancethatyouwishtohelpyou.

Aninterestingnoteisthatyouraurawillbegintochangeduringthedayspriortoyourconducting
anattunement.

Thefactthatthesameattunementprocesscanbeusedforeachsuccessivedegreeisbasedontwo
things. Firstly the intent of the Master whilst passing the attunement and secondly the
capacityofthestudenttoholdtherequiredamountofKi.Witheachsuccessiveattunement
thecapacityincreases.

ReikiIhastheeffectofcreatinganauraopeningenergy.Thestudentdoesnotfullyopenatthe
momentofattunementbutgraduallyoveraperiodofthreetofourweeks(approximatelythree
tofourdaysforeachchakrathisiswhy21daysselfhealingisadvisedaftertheattunement).As
theenergybodiesexpandandadjusttotheincreaseinKithecapacityofcourseincreases.

Reiki II attunement energy is four times stronger and will begin to be internalised from the
stagewhereReikiIcapacitywascomplete.

Itisofcoursetheseexpansionsthatcausedetoxificationandclearingonvariouslevels.Physical
reactionssuchasheadaches,runnynose,digestiveupsetsareasresultofenergyblockagesbeing
releasedfromtheethericbodyafterreceivingReikiI.Mentalandemotionallevelreleasesbrought
aboutbyReikiIIcantakeseveralmonthstoclear.

Spiritual body changes happen after receiving the third degree. There should be little detox
afterthislevel(butletusremembereveryoneusdifferent!)andthemaindevelopmentshould
be a feeling of growing selfrealisation and a sense of oneness with the Universe. The Master
attunementshouldbeajoyfulpleasurableexperiencebecausemostoftheclearinghasalready
takenplaceifawaitingperiodhasbeenobserved.AnewMastermayfeeltheneedtosleep
moreforafewdaystoassistthevibrationalenergybodiestorealign.

TeachingReiki

When you are confident with your ability to pass powerful attunements using the Hui Yin
combined with breath control and you also feel you have fully integrated the Level III
attunement, you are ready to teach if you wish. I suggest you begin with friends and family
members as 'guinea pigs' before charging for your services. Begin with Reiki I attunements
first and then move onto Reiki II attunements when you are confident with your teaching

Be aware of your own limits when doing attunements. The karmic release experienced by

Releasing Spirit Attachments From People

Occasionally spirits trapped on the lower astral plane can attach themselves to people or
animalsbodiesandmanifestasdiseasesoremotionalormentalproblems.Theseentitiesarecalled

Reiki and the Path to Enlightenment

I acknowledge with thanks the work of Diane Stein on this


subject and as I am impressed with her writings on this I

Marr.

In my quest to understand the meaning and origins of the Reiki


system, I had the good fortune a few years ago to talk with a
MahayanaBuddhistnun.ShewasquitefamiliarwiththeReikisymbols
in her Buddhist practice, though not with Reiki healing, and her
AND THE PATH TO ENLIGHTENMENT
information gave me a whole new perspective on the subject.
WhenIresearchedthisbookandaddedtheinsightsemergingfrom
additionalreadingonBuddhism,Ireceivedanswerstosomequestions
on the Reiki process. Mikao Usui spoke of a simple formula from
which Reiki and the symbols were derived. In the information I
receivedfromBuddhistphilosophy,IthinkIhavefoundthat2500
yearoldformula.MuchoftheexpandedinformationIhaveonthe
Reiki symbols comes from this research and the formula that is
presentedbelow.

From my reading in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, I see


strikingresemblancestotherootphilosophiesofvirtuallyallreligions.
Buddhism does not worship a God or Goddess, but accepts the
deitiesofwhatevercultureitfindsitselfin.Itisauniversalphilosophy
of Being, rather man a system of worshipping a prime mover.
Tantric mysticism that arose from MahayanaBuddhismdisplaysthe
essence of every world metaphysical system, including Wicca. It was
broughttotheWestasTheosophybyMadameHelenaBlavatsky.The
originalteachingsofthehistoricalJesusarefoundinBuddhismaswell,
includinghishealingability,parables,philosophy,attitude,andmiracles.

GautamaSiddhanha,theSakyamuniBuddha,wasbornin620BCEin
India on the Nepal border. He died in543BCE liketheteachingsof
Jesus,thewordsoftheBuddhawerenotrecordedinhislifetime;thefirst
recordsoriginatedseveralhundredyearslater.Thisisalongtime.Inthe
ChristianBible,onlyafewlinesaredirectlyindicatedtohavebeenJesus'
own words and teachings; more of the words of Gautama Siddhardia
remain.

The Buddha sought a way to free all people from suffering, pain and
reincarnation.Heacceptedbothmenandwomeninhisteachings
and people of all castes and classesboth as unusual in
traditional Hindu society as they were when Jesus did the same thing six centuries later in the Middle Eastern
patriarchy. The Buddha's Enlightenment did not depend on a patriarchal God or even a teacher, but on
understandinggainedfromwithin.Whenhefoundhisanswers,hedidnotenterthestateofbliss/Nirvanaofferedhim,
butreturnedtohelpothersfindtheway.Enlightenmentis"adirect,dynamicspiritualexperiencebroughtabout...through

thefacultyofintuition....ormoresimply,'seeingclearly'. Itresultsinliberationandfreedom,the"light"ofinformation
andunderstanding.

TheSermonatBenaresistheBuddha'sequivalentofJesus'SermonontheMount.Init,thegistofBuddhistteachingisgiven.

Existenceisunhappinessjustasaconditionofbeingalive.Thereissickness,oldage,anddeathplusthegriefofwatchinglovedones
suffer.Painandsufferingcauseunhappiness,andthesearethecentralproblemsofexistence.Theyaretheproblemsthatthe
compassionateBuddhasoughttosolve.InhisEnlightenment,GautamaSiddharthawasshownthatsufferingiscausedbyattach
menttotheprocessoflivingandtootherpeople.Thecravingsoflifecanneverbefullysatisfied.Thisattachmentresultsin
frustrationandnegativeactionthatgeneratekarma.Lifecreateskarmawhichmakesthenecessityforfurtherlifetimes,askarmaisboth
madeandclearedwhileinthebody.

Attachmentandcravingcanbereleasedandkarmahealedsothatthesoulnolongerneedstoreturntobeembodied.In
Buddhismthisisthewaytoendunhappiness,andtheonlyrealmeansofhealingtoendreincarnation.TheEightfoldPath,the
Buddhist moral code and equivalent of the Ten Commandments, provides the means to accomplish this. In his
Enlightenment,theBuddhawasshownthatthisendingofthewheelofincarnationandkarmaispossibleforeveryperson.Histeach
ingsarecenteredonbringingotherstoEnlightenment,aninnerunderstandingprocessofkarmarelease,withhim.

Effort,alertnessandconcentrationthemeansofcontrollingthemindareamongtheskillsrequiredtomeetthegoal,as
realityissubjecttothemind'screation.When the mind is completely freed of attachment or craving,thepersonenters
Nirvanaandnolongerneedstobereborn.UnderstandingthetruthoftheMindandtheprocessofexistenceresultsinthis
freedom.Nirvanaisdescribednotasextinction,butas"liberation,inwardpeaceandstrength,insightintotruth,thejoyof

completeonenesswithreality,andlovetowardallcreaturesintheuniverse.

RealityiscreatedbytheactionofMindfromtheVoid.TheVoidisthedepthsoffathomlesspeace,purity,perfection,mystery
andjoy.InWiccantermsitisSpirit, EtherorGoddess.AllBeing comesfromtheVoid, and it is the essence of all
existence.AllBeing(everyone)isalreadyinastateofperfection,apartoftheBuddhaNature(orGoddessWithin).Realityis
alsotheNonVoid,whichisallpotential,andavastcomplexofworldsandshiftinguniverses.MindemergingfromtheVoidis
thefirstBuddhasource,butthissourceisobscuredtomostpeoplebytheillusionofthesenses,theNonVoid.Thereality
createdbythisobscuringofPureMindisliketherealitycreatedinamirror.Peopleinincarnationdonotawakentotheir
intrinsicpurity(theVoid)whichexistsbeyondthesenses.TheirunderstandingisbasedupontheNonVoid'sillusion.Adistorted
mindonEarthactstocreatesadistortedreality,resultinginsuffering.

"Mind,whichmanifestsitselfaswisdom,isintrinsicallyVoid;yeteverythingproceedsfromitandisthereforemind'screation.
EverythingrealiscreatedfromtheperfectionoftheVoid.Yet,becauseofdistortionandillusion,weperceivetheworldasimperfect
andremainattachedtodelusion.Wisdom=energy=creationistheVoid,andparticipatesinNirvana.Humanperception

ThefoundationofBuddhistteachingliesintheDivineAbodes,thequalitiesoflovingkindness,compassion,sympatheticjoy
and equanimity. The Buddha expressed these virtues when he refused Nirvana to save others from suffering. After the
beginnings of Theravada Buddhism in the earliest centuries after the Buddha's death (Parinirvana, ascension),
MahayanaBuddhismdevelopedinnorthernIndiabythefirstandsecondcenturies.ThisbranchofBuddhismisstillcentral
todayandbasesitsteachingsontheabovefoundations.AprimarytenetofMahayanaBuddhismisthesuretythateveryone
cangainEnlightenment,includingthosewhocannotdevotetheirlivestothereligiouslife.Anothercontributionofthe
MahayanaistheconceptoftheBodhisattva.

A Bodhisattva is someone whohas achieved Enlightenment,butdelayshisorherentryintoNirvanauntil everyone


achieves Enlightenment with her. She stays in the world to help all Beings. Kwan Yin U probably the bestknown
exampleofaBodhisattva.SheisknownasKannoninJapan,andhernearequivalentinTibetisTanuJesusprobablyfit
theBodhisattvadescription,asdidhismotherMary.MostoftheBodhisattvasaremale.ABodhisattvahasthevirtuesof
aBuddhaandwillbecomeaBuddhawhensheleavestheEarthatlast.GautamaSiddharthawasnottheonlyBuddha,
butthefirsttorindthePath.TheBodhisattvaistheMahayanaidealperson.

Vajrayana or Tantric Buddhism developed in Tibet from the Mahayana sect. It is the mystic and esoteric outgrowth of
Buddhism,affirmingloyaltytoateacherorguru,andcontainingcolorfulritual,initiations,mandalasandmantras,
peacefulandwrathfuldeities,visualizationtocontrolthemind,advancedmeditationpractices,andarichandvaried
symbolism. Because of the harsh climate and isolation of Tibet, Vajrayana Buddhism developed into a far different
religion than that which was practiced in India, but its basis is nevertheless in the Mahayana Sutras and philosophies.
TantristsworshiptheBuddhaassymbolizedinsacredstatuesandartwork,butinmeditationtheyseektheBuddha
andtheBodhisattvaswithintheirownminds.Theyworktounderstandthemanyrealitiesandtheperfectionof
theVoid.

itself.Theyarealsothefiveelements,fivecolorsandfiveformsrepresentedeverywhereinTantricart.Thefiveelements
areearth,water,fire,wind(air)andVoid(Spirit).Thefivecolorsareyellow,white,red,blackandblue,andthefive
formsarethesquare,circle,triangle,halfcircleandcintamani(composite)oftheStupa.Theymaybecomparedtothefive
pointsofthepentadeinWicca,withtheVoidasSpiritorEther.Thefiveelementsarealsoassociatedwiththechakras.

TogetherthefiveReikisymbolsarethenondualityofmindandobjectandtheemptinessfromegothatachievesBuddhist
Nirvana.Onceattained,theformulaandprocessofReikireleasesthesoulfromthewheelofincarnation.Thesymbolsystems
originalusewasnotforhealing,butspiritualEnlightenmentforthepurposeofhelpingothers,theBodhisattvaPath.The
Reikisymbolsarewisdomenergycreation,theundistortedperfectionoftheVoid,andtheyculminateinliberation.

ItisimportanttonoteherethattheSutrasandtheVajrayanatextswerewritteninSanskrit(theearlierTheravadatexts
wereinPali).TheBuddhadidnotspeakSanskrit, which is a scholar's language like Latin in the West,buttheBihari
dialect from his birth district. India is a country of many languages. Buddhism travelled from India to Tibet, across
SoutheastAsia,thentoChina,KoreaandJapan.Alongthewayitwaschangedbymanyinterpretationsinseveraldifferent
languagesandculturesovermanycenturies.TheReikiteachingtravelledthiswayaswellforover2500years,transcending
avarietyoflanguagesandculturestoreachtheWest.ItstranslationintoEnglishbymodernWesternsocietyrepresents
yetanothermajorchange.

Throughallofthesechanges,translations,andreinterpretations,bothBuddhismandReikihavesurvived.Buddhismis
thereligionofbetweenathirdandafifthoftheworld'speopletoday,andisaliveinavarietyofcultures.Itisatributetothe
BuddhistReikihealingsystemthatitremainsasvitalforWesternusersasitdidinitscountriesandlanguagesoforigin.The
ReikiofIndiawasprobablydifferentfromtheReikiofTibetbecausetheculturesandcustomsweredifferent.TheReikithat
Jesusbrought from India was probably different from the Reiki of today. Likewise, the Reiki of Japan must have
differedfromthatofTibetandIndia.

ReikiisdifferentintheWestfromthetraditionthatMikaoUsuirevived,butitisstillvitalandalive.Thatthehealingsystemis
evolvingtodayinWesterncultureisnosurprisetosomeoneknowledgeableinBuddhism.LikeBuddhismitself,Reikifitswhatever
cultureandcenturyitEndsitselfin,andadaptstodifferentlanguagesandsocieties.ThisisanotheroftheReikimiracles.

PsychicphenomenaarenotencouragedinBuddhistpractice,buttheyhappenalongtheway.Meditationdesignedfor
learningcontrolofthemindalsoopenstheinnersenses.TheexercisesformovingKicleartheHaraLineandthechakras.
HealingisnotasdiscouragedbyBuddhistsassomeotherpsychicskills,buthealingisstillconsideredadistractionfromthe
EnlightenmentPath.

informationontheBuddha'smethodofhealing,hewasprobablygivenasimilarresponse.Itisnotthathealingis
considered unimportant, but that it requires many years of training toward Enlightenment symbolfollows,withan
interpretationthatismybestattemptatunderstandingtheircomplexities.

The Cho-Ku-Rei

TheChoKuReiisthefirststepandthefirstexperienceonthePath,thegenerationstage.Thestudentisgivenamandalato
meditateupon.Hergoalistofocusinanalteredstateuponthecircularpictureuntilsheperceivesnodifferencebetweentheworld
ofhermeditationandthephysicalEarth.DetachmentfromtheEarthplaneandentranceintotheegolessstateoftheVoidisthegoal
oftheexercise.Thestudentbeginstolearnmeditation,todetachfromdailylifeifonlyforamoment,byconcentrationontheimage.
Themantraisthendrawnintothestudentsheart.Bytransferringrealitytothemandala,thepersondetachesfromtheNonVoid
oftheworld,andenterstheperfectionoftheVoid.Somemeditatorsbeginwithasimpleobject,likeabowlofwater,whileother
mandalasaremorecomplex.Thestudentlearnstofocusherattentionbeyondherselfandintothepicture.

TheMandala

The mandala form in Tantric art represents the AllOne and the AllMany. It symbolizes the
Enlightenmentprocess,astheOneistheBuddhaandtheManyreferstoAllPeople.Ultimatereality
is the union of matter and energy, and of the first five elements (earth, water, fire, air and the
Void/Ether) with the sixth element, consciousness. A mandala represents the nonduality
(union) of the ultimate reality of the universe, and the word itself means "to have attained

perfectandunsurpassableillumination.
"Manda"isessence,and"la"iscompletion.

Visually, these are not simply abstract patterns, but picture within them deities, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas. Their use in
meditationtrainsthemindincomplexvisualizationpractices.InVajrayanaBuddhism,thisisdonetogainmindcontrol,skillin
creatingmentalimages,tocontactGoddessesandotherpsychicforces(alsomindcreated),andtoachievealteredconsciousness
states.Themandalaisdescribedasagreatcircleofpeacefulandwrathfuldeities.'

Asshebecomesmoreskilled,thedeitiesinthemandalahelpthestudenttoovercomeobstaclesonherpath.Theyarerecognized
ashavinglifeandalsoasbeingmindcreatedconstructs.Byidentifyingwiththedeity,thestudentrealizestheemptiness
(Void)ofallthings.Studentandmandalaareone,studentanddeityareone,andbothpartakeoftheVoid.Thedeityandmandala
aredrawnintotheheart,andthestudentbecomesthedeity.Inalchemicalterms,"theworship,worshipper,andtheworshipped
arethesame."

John Blofeld, in The Tantric Mysticism of Tibet, presents a ChoKuRei stage meditation on Tara, the Tibetan
Bodhisattva/Goddess:
Tan'sheartrevealsthesyllableDhamsurroundedbyherspecialmantrafromwhichlightraysshineinalldirections.The
adeptdrawstheserays'likenectarorrain'throughthecrownofhisheadanddownintotheheart,whereuponhis
bodybecomes"pureasacrystalvessel...."

Taragazesathimwithgreatjoyand,graduallydiminishingtothesizeofathumb,entershisbodythroughthecrown
oftheheadandcomestorestuponasolardiscatopalunardiscandlotusinhisheart.Nowtheadept'sown
bodybeginstodiminishinsize,gettingsmallerandsmalleruntilitiscoextensivewiththediminutivefigureof
Tara."Tara...andadeptaretrulyonewithnodistinctionwhatever"

Meditation on the ChoKuRei itself has similar results, taking the person into the labyrinth, detaching her from the
Earthplaneworld.Incurrentmetaphysicalterms,itteacheshertogooutofbodybygoingwithin.Learningtomeditateand
enteralteredstates,toletgoofthemundaneworld,andtoexperiencethepeaceoftheVoidandemptinessoftheegoisthe
beginningprocessofeveryspiritualitydiscipline.Inanydeepmeditativestate,theegoiswithdrawnandtheBuddhaNatureor
GoddessWithincomesforward.Atfirstthebeginnercanfocusonlybriefly,butwithpracticeherconcentrationgrows.In
time,shetrainshermindtocreateworlds.InReiki,theChoKuReiisthe"lightswitch"thatturnsthehealingenergyon
andincreasesitspower.Asthegenerationstage,itisthephysicalbodyhealinglevel,thebeginningofhealingandtheuseof
Reikienergy.ItisthedoorwaytoReikiandhealing.

The Sei- He -Ki


TransformingtheemodonsisanalchemicalprocessandthesecondstageontheBuddhistPathtoEnlightenment.Earth
andthepersonincarnateduponitareconsideredtobeimpureground.Theyarerepresentedbythecoloryellow.Thefireof
wisdompurifies,raisingtheEarthlylevelandthestudenttoanewawareness(gold).Thisisatransmutationreminiscent
oftheEuropeanRenaissancealchemist.Inthatculture,thealchemistwantedtoturnleadintogold,butwhatwas
changedintheprocesswastheconsciousnessofthealchemistherself.Alchemywasacombinationofmagicandthe
beginningsofscience.Sotoowidetheabove.InBuddhism,wisdomequalsenergyequalscreation.

Thisisanonconceptual(subconscious)stateofBeingchangedtorealizationandawareness.Thepersonwhohaslivedina
distortedworldsuddenlyperceivesthetruthoftheVoid.Shegoesthroughthedistortionofthemirrorandbeyondit.By
realizationoftheemptinessoftheself,shereachesEnlightenment.Impuregroundispurifiedbywisdomfromyellow
togoldenlight.FewpeopleachievethisstageofdevelopmentitistheBuddhastatus.TheBuddhaistheunionof
theOneandtheMany,andexistsasthetruenatureofallBeings.

ThenonexistenceofselfisacentralconceptofBuddhistteaching.Theegoisseenasanartificialconstructobscuring
theBuddhaNature,anillusivehousingforactionsontheEarthplane.Itisimpermanent,aslifeisimpermanent,andfilled
withmisconceptions,delusionsandflaws.Whatonegivesupbyemptyingoneselfofegoarethethingsthatprevent

spiritualprogress.Resistance,blockages,delusionsandpain,negativehabits,andemotionssuchasenvy,hatred,
greediness,andangeraretheegotobeemptied.EmptinessisthecentralqualityoftheVoid,aplaceoftotalpeace,
innercalm,andjoy.Inthegreatemptiness,onlywisdomcanenter.12

FromtheSutraoftheEssenceofPerfectWisdom(ThePrajnaPammitaHrdayaSutra):
Emptinessdocsnotdifferfromform,formdoesnotdifferfromemptiness;whateverisform,thatis
emptiness,whateverisemptiness,thatisform."
TheultimaterealityoftheuniverseandtheegoistheVoid.Oncethenegativeemotionsarereleased,theDivineAbodesare
cultivated,replacingnegativeemotionswithpositiveones.Whentheegoisreleased,thereisonenesswithallthings,
anothercentralBuddhistconcept.TheDivineAbodesarelovingkindness,compassion,sympatheticjoy,andequanimity.
AmajorpremiseofMahayanaBuddhismisthatallpeoplecanattainEnlightenment.InReiki,theSeiHeKiisthe
symbolforhealingtheemotions,andtransformingnegativefeelingstopositiveones.Itprovidesawayforeveryoneto
dothis.Itisalsothealchemical/magicalprocessesofpurification,cleansingandprotection.Emotioncreatesattachment
createskarma.

The Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen

IhavewrittenmoreabouttheHonShaZeShoNenthananyoftheothersymbols.Theinformationthatfollowsled
metousethesymbolforpastlifeworkandforreleasingthislifetraumas,andtodiscoverhowpowerfultheseusescan
be. I was not taught these possibilities in Reiki II and wonder how much they are known today to most Reiki
practitioners.Theywouldhavebeenintrinsicfor healing in the Buddhist culture and world view. Mentalhealingis
healingallBeinginBuddhism,asallrealityiscreatedbymindconsciousness.Allkarmaiscreatedandmaybereleasedby
themind.

Mind in Buddhism is ultimate reality, and mind, thought and consciousness are interchangeable terms. The literal
translationofHonShaZeShoNenis"nopast,nopresent,nofuture."Bynonexistenceoftheself(emptinessoftheego)all
limitationis transcended.Enlightenmentisgoing beyond the mind to the Buddha Nature (Goddess Within) inallofus.
Whenthemindisawareoftruereality(theVoid),thereisopenness.Theresultisfreedomfromtime,space,delusionand
limitation.Thedissolutionoflimitationmeansunderstandingallthings.FreedomfromthedelusionoftheNonVoidis
freedomfromkarma,askarmaistheactionofthemind.Allhumanlimitationismindcreated.Becauseweperceive
realityasinamirror,thistruthisobscured.Whenweknowthistruth,however,allthethingsthatholdusbackfrom
EnlightenmentandkeepustiedtothedelusionoftheEarthplanearereleased.Thisrealizationisanunderstanding
ofhowtheworldworks.Indistancehealing,Reikienergycanbesentthousandsofmiles.Itcanbesenttorepeatata
particulartime,orevensentintothepastorfuture.Lineartimeisadelusionthatcanbetranscended.Onceweknowthat
timeisafake,wecanliveaccordingly.Mindisthesensescomingincontactwiththeirobjects.Realityiswhatwemakeit.
ThereisaWiccansayingthat"Magicistheartofchangingconsciousnessatwill."Therearenolimitations,thereis
onlywill.

Thecentralconcepthereistheawarenessofthemind.Thisawarenessreleasesthelimitationofkarmaandtheneedto
returnagainandagaininbodytoresolvekarmaontheEarthplane.Oneofthethingshappeningtomostpeopleinthese
Earthchangetimesisresolutionofpastlifetimesandkarma.Inhealingafterhealingtheseissuesarise,tothepointthatforalmost
everynegativehappeninginthislifetimeakarmicpatternmaybediscovered.TheHonShaZeShoNenhelpstocompletethe
karmaandreleaseit,andtheprocessiscreatedintheconsciousmind.Bydirectingtheimagesofthepresenttohealthe
past, karma is released. It is permanently released, and with each piece that is lifted, another need to resolve it by
reincarnatingisreleased.

ThesymbolisanentranceintotheAkashicRecords,thelifebookofeachsoul'sincarnations.Withconsciousnessofmind,itcanbe
used to rewrite the book. Use its power wisely. Every Buddhist exercise and practice is designed to train the mind
meditation,visualization,contactwithdeities,focusingonthebodyandthemovementofKi.Thetrainingtocontroltheconscious
mindwillalsochangereality.InReikithesymbolhealsthepast,presentandfuture,transcendstime,healskarma,and
allowsfordistancepsychichealing.Ithastremendousimplicationsforourendofanagegeneration.Anotherdefinitionfor
thisenergyis"Openthebookoflifeandnowread."Thesymbolhealsthementalbody.

The Dai-Ko-Myo

The DaiKoMyo is the Bodhisattva Path. This is "the one with the Mahayana heart of giving," the person who desires
Enlightenmentforothers'sakeandwillachieveit.Sherealizesthatgreatunificationisthebasforunderstandingallthings.
Whenshebecomesenlightened,sheisfreedfromincarnationandallsuffering.TheBodhisattvarefusestoaccepttheblissofNirvana;
longasanyoneremainsbehindinpain,egoanddelusionShereturns/reincarnatestohelpothersalsoachievedEnlightenment

TheMahayanaVajrayanaadeptdedicatesherselftoworkinghardachieveEnlightenment,butvowsnottoenterNirvauntil
everyonecanenterwithher.Shecondemnshersotoendlessincarnationsdoinggoodintheworld,waitingforthatday.

One of the foundations of Buddhism is respect 1 the oneness of all life, and compassion for the suffering everyone.
Animalsareincluded,andmanyBuddhists:vegetarians.ThiscompassionisthebeginningBodhisattvahood,andthereare

othervirtuestodevelop.Theyaregiving,morality,patience,zeal,meditation,awisdom. Someoftheworld'sbestlovedfigures
Bodhisattvas, respected and worshiped by as many Buddhists as Buddhists. The foremost of these are Chinese
Goddess/BodhisattvaKwanYin,theTibetan,andtheChristianMaryandJesus.ThefullnameKwanYinisKuanShihYin,She
WhoHearkenstotheCriesoftheWorld.

Enlightenmentrequirestheperfectunionofwisdomandcompassion.Directunderstandingoftheselfisapartofwisdom,and
compassiontheforemostwaytoreleasefullythedelusionofself.Theselfisaconceptofseparateness,whilenonexistanceoftheself
isoneness.TheurgetocompassionEnlightenmentiscalledBodhi.Fromthissourcecausetheliberationenergyofwisdom
andcompassion,flow of Bodhi energy becomes embodied in certain formsBuddhas who have entered Nirvana;
Enlightenment,andBodhisattvaswhohaveEnlightenmentbutremainonEarth.

"EarlyBuddhismrecordedfewfemaleBodhisatstatingthatawomanwouldhavetobereborninabodybeforeshecouldreach
Enlightenment.EventheYinandTarabothderivefromamaleBodhisaAvelokitcsvara,whowaschangedtofemaleinChi
JapanandTibet.TheBuddhaswife,Yasodhara,havebeentheprototypeofKwanYin.LikewiseintheWest,Jesustakes
theforefrontoverMary,butitistoMarythatpeopleinneedapply.Thismisogyny,typicalworldwide,isgivingwayinmodern
rimes.AgreatmanywomenareBuddhists,andhavetakentheBodhisattvaVowtoforegoNirvanauntileveryonecanenter
together. The qualities of Buddhism are far more feminine than masculine, involving compassion, oneness and
respectfulconduct.Intoday'sBuddhism,theyalsoincludeactivismtochangetheworld.TibetanBuddhismparticularly
acceptsthefeminine,withtheBodhisattvaGoddessTara.IntheVajrayana,onenesscanonlybeachievedthroughthe
female.

TheDaiKoMyoissoullevelhealing,anditisfreedomfromtheneedtoreincarnatethathealsthesoul.Buddhistdoctrine,
focusedontranscendingthebody,acceptsnootherhealingthanthatwhichoccursfromthespiritualbodylevel.The
DaiKoMyofliesfromhearttoheartinReiki,anditisintheheartthatTaraorKwanYinreside.Thesymbolspiralsinandout
fromthecenteroftheVoid,andformandnonformareone.TheDaiKoMyolevelistheonenessofalllife.Thehealerisonthe
BodhisattvaPath,whethershehaschosentheBuddhistPathtoEnlightenmentornot.Sheworkstochangesufferingto
freedomforherselfandforall.InWicca,theconceptis"YouareGoddess."ReikiisatoolandavirtueofBodhi,theurgeto
wisdom,compassionandEnlightenmentthatarecentraltothehealedsoul.Ifthesoulisinpain,therecanbenophysical,
mentaloremotionalhealing.

The Raku

TheRakuismuchmorethanagroundingmechanismattheendoftheattunementprocess,thoughitalsohasthatuse.Itis
the point of the entire system, and Enlightenment itself. The Raku is completion, the achievement of lower
Nirvana. It is attainment of the emptiness of the self of existence. When the Buddha attained Enlightenment, he
returnedtotheEarthplanetoteachotherswhathehadlearned.Whenhecompletedhisteachingandfinallyleft,ordied,
he entered a state of Parinirvana or ascension. From this state, beyond Nirvana, there is no return from the Void, no
reincarnationinthebody.TheSakyamuniBuddhawillnotreturn,butheleftbehindinstructiononhowothersmayattainthe
same state and follow him. Others may attain Enlightenment and become Buddhas themselves. This is to be
interpretedasalongedforrestandtheblessedachievementoftotalpeace.

Enlightenment,assymbolizedbytheRaku,isreleasefromtheillusionofthematerialworld.Inmeditationanimageofthedeity
appears,whateverdeityismeaningfultotheadept.Theexperiencedmeditatorhasachievedabsoluteconcentration,freeing
hermindfromdistractionandallselfishcraving.Thereisonenessbetweenworshiperandtheworshiped,unionornondualityof
mind.Freedomfromcravingmeansfreedomfromreincarnationandillusion,andthemeditator/adeptentersNirvana.Sheisfree,
andfilledwithtruthandjoy.E.A.Bunt,inTheTeachingsoftheCompassionateBuddha,definesNirvanaas"liberation,inwardpeaceand

strength,insightintotruth,thejoyofcompleteonenesswithreality,andlovetowardallcreaturesintheuniverse.

Themindisthesensescomingincontactwiththeirobjects.Thecausesarethesenses,theconditionsaretheobjects.Butthe
causesandconditionsarereallyone.Theobjectcreatesanappearancehowonepersonseesitmaybedifferentfromhow
someoneelsedoes.Perceptiondiffers,sowhentwopeopleseeatree,onemayloveitsfallcolorsandtheotherseesonlyleavesto
deanup.Weprojectourimagesonreality,andwhatwecreateisbasedonbeliefandconditioning.Thenondualityofmindisthe
resolutionofoppositestheknowledgeandunderstandingthatthetwo,thoughtheyseemcontradictions,areone.

WithcompletionorEnlightenment,beliefandconditioninggivewaytoNirvanaandtheVoid.Illusionisstrippedawayandwhatis
real(mind,theVoid,andtheBuddhaNature)remain.Theobjectandmindareone,andtheillusionofthematerialworldis

released.TheseedsofEnlightenmentareimprintsofconsciousness.Withawareness,theblissfulstateoflowerNirvanais
attained.ItistheunionoftheManyandtheOne.TheRakusymbolizestheAbsoluteandtheNinthConsciousness.Itisalso

TheVajraasaritualtoolsymbolizestheskill,compassion and wisdom that lead to


Buddhahood and Enlightenment. It is ultimate reality, the Path and
Enlightenmentitself.TheVajraistheresolutionofopposites,thenondualityofmind
andobject,andtheunionbetweentheBuddhaWorldandtheWorldofBeings.Itisa
scepter composed of two fivepronged ends; the two ends arc the oneness of
opposites, and the five prongs repeat the fives that appear throughout Buddhist
symbolism.TheyarethefivelevelsofMindonthePathtoEnlightenment,thefive
elements,fivecolors,fivebodies,fiveBuddhas,andfiveReikisymbols.Theyalsorepresent
thefiveenergywisdomsofthemandala."TheVajrayanateachingsstatethatbytheadept
smysticalexercises,ritualsandmeditations,sheattainsherVajra/diamondnature,

anexcitingrevelation.Thenun'sinsightsintoReiki(fromsomeonewhodidnothaveReikiorwantit)broughtthewholehealing
processintoclearperspective.AsaBuddhistatthetimeofhisReikiopening,MikaoUsuiwouldhavebeenwhollyfamiliar

Fromtheinformationabove,theusesofeachsymbolforhealingbecomeclearer.Thesymbolshavemorepurposethanis
usually taught, and more power for healing and change. Reiki is at least 2500 years old and may be older; it is a
productoftherichmysticismoftheVajrayanaBuddhisttradition.Itmayhavebeenanearlierproductoftheisolated
Tibetans. In channeling, we were told that Reiki was brought to Earth with the first peopletoincarnateinbodies.
