Adam Kossler

March 17 - 22 2015
Dr. Kossler is a world class performer with an extensive list of international
prizes and awards. We are very fortunate to host one of the Nations leading
guitar educators as part of the YAS. Dr. Kossler will inspire children across
the Wasatach Front with performances, interactive lecture demonstrations,
masterclasses, and workshops.

Duo Sonidos

Duo Sonidos brings together the talents of violinist, William Knuth and
guitarist, Adam Levin. The duo is at the vanguard of the guitar chamber
music world, forging relationships with contemporary composers with
the mission of expanding the duo repertoire. In November 2010 Duo
Sonidos released their debut album Duo Sonidos and subsequently,
were awarded 1st Prize at the 2010 Luys Milan International Chamber
Music Competition in Valencia, Spain. Levin and Knuth have
performed throughout the United States and Europe and have been
honored as US Fulbright Scholars in the field of music performance in
Madrid, Spain and Vienna, Austria respectively.

Utah Classical Guitar Orchestra

The UCG Orchestra is a community based guitar ensemble open to players


of all ages and levels. Join in the fun of making music in a friendly setting
with fellow guitarists! Weekly rehearsals are conducted by celebrated local
guitarist and educator, Gabino Flores. For more information about joining
the Orchestra, please visit www.ucgs.org or speak with Gabino or one of
our friendly volunteers after the concert. Performers: Ashton and Diane
Gilmore, Gustavo Peralta, John Cederquist, Jose Lopez, Mary Powell,

Russian guitarist Anton Baranov is a prizewinner of more then fifteen prestigious


international guitar competitions, including
the Koblenz Guitar Competition, Andrs
Segovia Competition, Agustn Barrios
Competition, Robert Vidal Competition,
and Pittaluga Guitar Competition. At the
height of his young career, he won both the
Guitar Foundation of America International
Concert Artist Competition and the
Francisco Trrega Competition in 2013.
Known for his daring interpretations and
innovative programming, guitarist and composer Roland Dyens calls
him,
a real musician, one of those rare guitarists who are able to have their
attendees almost forget the instrument they play, managing to have them
focus on the expressivity of the music and only this.
As part of his prize from winning the GFA competition, Mr. Baranov will
embark on a 50-city concert tour throughout the United States, Mexico,
Canada, and Brazil, and has just recorded his first album on the Naxos
label. Mr. Baranov has been a D'Addario artist since 2013. He currently
teaches at his alma mater, the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
Anton Baranov was born in 1984 in the Northwest region of Russia. He
graduated from the famous St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov
Conservatory in 2010 under grants from the Russian Ministry of Culture
and the Russian Performing Arts Foundation.
