SHORTLISTING PLAN

Post Title: Research Associate Electrical/Electronic Engineer

The University may conduct a shortlisting exercise based on the written information you have provided. The initial
shortlisting exercise will be based on the following essential criteria from the personnel specification.
Initial Shortlisting Criteria

1. First or upper second class honours degree in Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
2. Evidence of practical research experience in electronics devices, circuitry, power management,
communication, microprocessor design, coding associated with medical-related prototype devices.
3. Experience of current project management processes for the delivery of time-bound outcomes
4. Evidence of ability to develop robust and efficient software (preferably C++ based).
5. Evidence of successfully contributing to research projects.
6. Evidence of the provision of detailed progress reports within a research project context.
7. Evidence of initiative and an innovative approach to problem solving.
8. Evidence of research outputs in the form of academic papers or related works (published or
submitted for publication) and/or presentations at international scientific conferences
9. Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research.
10. Willingness to work across a number of project areas.
11. Willingness to travel as required.

The University reserves the right to supplement these shortlisting criteria by using the following desirable criteria
from the personnel specification as essential shortlisting criteria in subsequent stages of the shortlisting process.
Supplementary Shortlisting Criteria

PhD in a Physical Science, Engineering or related subject.
