Re: What I have learned for the first seven (7) days
Ma'am,
Working for the first seven (7) days, really challenge me a lot. I learned new things in my new assigned
job description and still willing to learn more, for me to familiarize the flow of my work that will
contribute to the productivity of the company. Ma'am Jen already mention about logging every important
documents received like documents coming from LBC or vouchers and need to be receive by the person
in charge of it so that in case she will be looking for it, there is a proof that she already receive it. Other is
inventory of supplies, procedures for BAI application. But actual process really works for me aside from
just discussing it. What I really learned from my past few days are those I did in actual. In actual process,
I was able to check shipment documents and computing of duties and taxes, dutiable value and brokerage
fee. I learned also that it is very important to check the status of cargo or the cargo tracking history to
avoid demurrage or the additional charges together with the fast or on time release of ATRIG to avoid
delay that can cause storage charges. To be always updated, it is also my task to check always how many
pending importation shipments we have and how many container is coming or arriving. I hope I can do
more for the coming days, weeks or months to personally do it by myself in order to know all the flow or
process of work.
Process of Importation
1. Received proforma invoice
2. Prepare letter of authorization
3. Apply SPS import clearance
4. If it is already approved and printed, inform P.A. Guasa for pick-up of the original copy. Ask
P.A. Guasa to also process it.
5. If fax or scanned shipping documents are available at least the primary documents like
commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, fax it to P. A. Guasa to apply ATRIG in advance.
They usually inform the date if arrival and release of ATRIG.
6. After release of ATRIG, processing of release container starts. Broker will inform us the entry
number and amount of duties and taxes.
7. Inform depository bank Mega ICBC for auto debit of taxes and duties.
8. The broker informs the time of delivery to plant if payment and process is accomplished.
