plant, which then moved to the corporate location in 2011 to Glenview, IL. Challenged to ensure prompt and
economical receipt of materials and supplies, and timely delivery of finished products to customers, meeting or
exceeding quality specifications and requirements. Charged with monitoring and appraising effectiveness of plant
operations regularly and systematically, including responsiveness to sales requirements and effectiveness of

A diversified power management company with 2007 sales of $13 billion. The Belmond plant manufactures engine
valves for automotive, aircraft, heavy-duty applications, and aircraft lifters. During the 81-97 period, the plant
grew from $50M to $94M in sales and in 97 employed approximately 700 employees.

INTERIM PLANT SUPERINTENDENT (19961997)


Joined Eaton as a Machine Operator in 1981, advancing with the company through a series of promotions with
increasing levels of responsibility. Recognized for consistent superior performance, and invited to act as Interim
Plant Superintendent during Plant Superintendents 6-month sabbatical in 1996. Held accountable for all aspects of
manufacturing operations with operating budget of $30M+. Utilized TOC management techniques guiding plantwide efficiency improvement initiatives throughout all core areas including, production, scheduling, and
manufacturing operations. Implemented JIT production, cell manufacturing, and high-speed automation lines.

Key Contributions:

Revitalized plant operations, eliminated redundancy, automated repetitive functions, and improved bottom-line

Slashed production lead times from one week to one day following implementation of high-speed automation.
Delivered strong and sustainable results in all key plant objectives with record-setting profitability: Increased
