II. OBSERVATIONS ON THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT

COMMENTS/FINDINGS
A. LEADERSHIP
The school being organized
manifests the kind of leadership it
has. When we interviewed some
teachers, they said that the principal
really has a strong sense of
leadership. He acts as the father to
all but without monopolising the
privilege. That means, he consults
everybody before he makes
decisions so everything is clear. And
seeing his personality, I can say that
hes the leader who doesnt tell you
what to do, he shows you how its
done.
B. TEACHERS
The teachers have an established
trust and camaraderie with one
another. They listen and talk freely
seeking and giving each others
opinion. They work together and
follow one leader.
C. PHYSICAL
Being labelled as SBM level 3, its
FACILITIES/ANCILLARY SERVICES expected that they have almost

everything. They have unique

equipment and devices and we all
saw it. And the beauty is that they
dont wait for anybody to give them
these things. They look for ways by
which they can provide themselves
with all these.
The learners are well-managed.
Even if we havent really met them,
seeing the school surroundings
gives me the idea that they have
disciplined students. And from
discipline comes a well-bred learner.
The schools stakeholders are very
participative I can say because the
school will never be what it is now if
they have dead and unconcerned
stakeholders. They have a nice
bond. They look after each other
and take up each others ideas
concerning the school.
From what the school was before
and what it is now, its pretty
obvious that it has improved a lot.
They know what to prioritise. So it
goes to show that resources are
well-managed and allocated.

III. PICK OUT AT LEAST 3 BEST PRACTICES OF THE SCHOOL

BEST PRACTICES/ UNIQUE
IMPACT/EFFECT TO THE
INITIATIVES OF THE SCHOOL
OVERALL SCHOOL
PERFORMANCE
1. Mean and MPS Analysis
After each grading period, all
Scheme
teachers compute for the mean and
MPS but not just up to that, they
analyse the results of the
computations. In this way they will
know in what areas did the students
have difficulty the most and will be
dealt with properly the next time.
2. School-Stakeholders
If the school treats its stakeholders
Partnership
as partners, it functions well. Just
like in business partnerships, both of
you work hand in hand. You both
look for solutions when problems
arise. You trust in the ability of each
other.
3. Capability Enhancement
They took the initiative of
Programs for Students
conducting enhancement programs
wherein students are taught certain
skills like organising events
themselves, making a resolution and
many more. This idea is brilliant
because in the end, the school will
produce independent learners,
learners who make a move even

without somebody telling them what

to do.
IV. WHAT PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS IN THIS SCHOOL WOULD YOU
LIKE TO REPLICATE IN YOUR SCHOOL? MENTION ONLY THREE.
PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
What are your reasons for
replicating?
1. Unified Testing Program
I find it better when there is a
unified schedule for examinations.
Pupils who are expected to take the
tests are the ones who come. They
can focus more because the
environment is quite since
everybody at school is busy
answering so there are greater
chances of getting passing scores.
2. Project CLAY-GO
Clean As You Go. With this, students
are trained at an early age to be
held responsible for their mess. I
want this done at my own school
because I want my pupils to grow up
having concern and love for the
environment.
3. Quarter Recognition Day
I want this done at my own school
too because when pupils are
recognised for their efforts and
achievements every quarter, they
are inspired to do even better the
next quarter while those with low
performance are encouraged to
strive more because they see that
being awarded and praised is a good
thing.
OTHER COMMENTS:
Calbiga National High School is indeed an epitome of a school thats
constantly transforming for the best. From the surroundings to the facilities
and the teachers and students, to the kind of leadership the school has and
its relationship with the community, how all these things are accomplished is
kind of impossible but real for we all are witness of it. While the principal was
talking, I realised that I wanted my school to be at least halfway like theirs
and on my mind was how I wish this was as simple as trying to copy
something from the internet, we can just click copy and paste right away.
I just hope and pray that whoever succeeds its current administration
will preserve and continue what has been started.
I cant say anything more. My appreciation goes to everybody in
Calbiga NHS!
