Meeting room (room across F1602)

Short Description:

The meeting room on the 16th floor was a standard meeting room most
commonly seen in movies and television shows. The movable walls were also just like
any movable walls being sold in the market. The room was undoubtedly used
occasionally unlike the other rooms being occupied in the FIT building.
Type of wall finishing and system

The meeting rooms wall system is a movable wall, its finish are steel,
laminated wood and stratus fabric. This type of wall system best suited the
room due to its:
1. Speed of Set up, the building as we know it was constructed in an
instantaneous speed and by doing so time is a great factor to be put in the
consideration so by placing a movable wall, a lot of time could be save as
this type of wall requires little time to be set up.
2. Aesthetics, the movable walls appearance can easily be altered since a
lot of manufacturers are producing this types of wall. It could also be very
versatile as it could create space in no time.
3. No paint fumes, the room was built for a corporate setup and with this
purpose in mind, each component comes in its final color scheme, which
could be preselected to match your existing dcor .
4. Cost saving, the movable wall even though it was versatile and it has a
good aesthetics it would save labor cost because all components are built
into sections therefore making it easier to install

Describe briefly, the floor system and finishing that are used to fulfill the demands
of the building. Note of the following:
a Size
During the process of inspecting the walls, since there was no present steel
tape the inspector used approximation and by that method a wall height of
85.86 in. and length of 469 in. was roughly made
b Defect
Considering that the building was just fully operational this school trimester
and the fact that this specific room is not being used on a regular basis, the
defects of this exact room was minimal. The only defect that was visible by an
ocular inspection was the slight dents on the upper portion of the movable
wall where it was connected and as well as the discoloration of the metal
plate directly above the movable wall.
c

Recommendation
In view of the minimal defects simple cleaning and repair would be required
for the said wall.

The meeting rooms wall system is a partition wall, its finishes are plaster and
paint. This type of wall system best suited the room due to its:
1 Capability to divide the room into smaller rooms with you having a control
over the sizes of each new rooms.
Privacy of the staffs that are working inside the Student Activities and
Development unit.
There walls are also thin in sections, making it easier to construct, but due to
its thin properties these walls cant bear much load.
The walls are light when it comes to weight.
This type of wall also maximizes the floor area since the walls occupies lesser
space.

of the building. Note of the following:

During the process of inspecting the walls, since there was no present steel

The F908 shows very little defects such as: untidy joints between window
frames and walls, the scratches along the steel frames of the windows, and

Recommendation
Without any defect yet showing in the walls, it could be concluded that
decorative were the only missing pieces from the walls. The room looked
bland and a tad bit boring looking at it. Paintings are good investment and as
well as decoration for such place to give it more life and color.

F908s wall system is an exterior wall, its finishes are plaster, paint, steel and
glass. This type of wall system best suited the room due to its:
1 Great advantage for natural lighting, since the room will be used as a
drawing laboratory the lightning should be impeccable and it was achieved
through the help of glass.
The curtain wall faade does not also carry any dead load except its own.
A curtain wall is designed to resist air and water infiltration, sway induced by
wind and seismic forces acting on the building, and its own dead load weight
forces.
Aesthetically speaking, a structure made of glass is surely one of the most
fascinating structures to be looking at. The glass makes the building or any
structure appealing to the eyes.
This type of wall also maximizes the view and gives you a panoramic view of
the metro you are in.

h Defect
In Consideration of this building just being fully operational this school trimester
and the fact that this specific room was for the discipline and activities room, it
was being maintained with the highest precision. The walls are maintained until
now, no visible signs of cracks, dents and vandals were yet present to the
existing wall which was excellent considering the number of students that was
going in and out of that room.

STUDENT PLAZA WALL (near service elevator)

Short Description:
The student plaza is students chill and most of the time wait for other friends
who are yet to come to school. Partial wall is a type of wall system that does
not extend up to the ceiling height, and one of the best example would be the
wall beside the service elevator. That place provides good view and great
winds during the dry season, but quite a struggle during the wet season as
the waters were going inside the building.
Type of wall finishing and system

Student plaza wall system is a partial wall, its finishes are plaster and paint.
This type of wall system best suited the room due to its:
1 Great advantage for natural lighting, since the area will be used as a place
to meet and just hang out, a natural light would be a humongous help
since artificial lightning would not be used as much.
2 The wall also acts as a plant box which adds to the total beauty of the view.
3 This type of wall also maximizes the view and gives you a panoramic view of
the metro you are in.
Describe briefly, the floor system and finishing that are used to fulfill the demands
of the building. Note of the following:
j

Size
During the process of inspecting the walls, since there was no present steel
tape the inspector used approximation and by that method a wall height of
44.6 in. and length of 897 in. was roughly made

Defect
With regards to the defects, the main concern was only the cleanliness of the
walls, since the plants were placed there it was automatic that they would
water it for it to live and water droplets usually made the paint more opaque
and sometimes even fades.

Recommendation
During the wet season typhoons were expected to penetrate the country and
that would mean a lot of rain, to avoid a large volume of water to go inside the
building, they must build some type of machination that would still enable the
view to be seen without the danger of being caught in the rain, this might be
a huge glass window or other stronger material.
