LAUGFS TEMINALS is located in the Hambantota Harbor Where the salinity, and humidity is high.
Based on ISO 12944-2 corrosivity categories, LAUGFS TEMINALS is C5M.
Hempel recommended paint scheme for LAUGFS LPG tank terminals project as below, both LPG
spherical tank and pipeline/ steel structure can satisfied the requirement of ISO 12944.

Hempel recommended paint system with the below advantage:

1. Zinc rich epoxy and epoxy MIO bring excellent anticorrosion properties
2. Mascoat endow the function of thermal reflecting effect, this is the key performance LPG
tank needed.
3. Increase Mascoat DFT to 600 microns will improve anti-crack performance, otherwise, crack
will cause flake, corrosion and affect whole tank appearance.
In a word, Hempels recommendation have satisfied the project design requirement already. There
is no need to add one coat of Micaceous Iron Oxide Epoxy for the Hempels recommended paint
system. Under proper surface preparation and paint application procedure.
