Chapter 1: Introduction

Definition of Prospectus
A brochure or other document describing the major features, attraction, or
service of a place, institution, or business to prospective clients, owners, or
members. In other words prospectus means a document describing the
major features of a proposed project, business venture, etc. in enough detail
so that prospective investors, participants, or buyers may evaluate it.
The prospectus is Latin word which means view (see prospect).
Finding prospect for our business and then nurturing them into leads are the
building blocks of a sales cycle. Without prospect, there would be no leads,
and without leads we cannot come in the top of sales pipeline and we cant
expect sales at the bottom. Prospect are the first key ingredient to business
success. But first we must understand what a prospect is?
A prospect is someone (be it person, a department in company or a company)
who has an interest in your business and your product. A prospect is someone
who has a need, desire or interest in what you offer.

Different ways to find prospect

Prospect can be obtained in a variety of ways such as online (e.g. social
media), in the physical world (at a trade show) or they can approach you
first(visit your website or fill in a web from).
1. Social media
Networking platform are the manna of the business world. Not only do they
offer a great way to connect with customer, but also a new place for you to
grow your list of perspective customers. It is a great way to start crating
nurturing relationship through engaging in conversation, sharing relevant
content and generally getting to know the people who are keen followers of
your brands.
2. Influencers

Connect

with

influencers

on

Facebook,

Twitter, and

Google+

and

communicate with them. Share some of their content and by law of reciprocity,
they will share some of yours. This way they will be showing your business
and ultimately recommending your brand and your product to entire audience
3. Social Proof
Post case studies and success stories of people and companies who have
experienced success thank to you and your product. Make use of positive
feedback and learn form negative comments.
4. Content
Good content is one of the easiest and most effective way to finding prospects
for your business. Good content is relevant to your target market and is the
key to people subscribing to communication from you, sharing your content
with others and ultimately helping you in build a loyal audience. And this loyal
audience is your prospective future client that could potentially be nurtured to
become your loyal customer.
5. Networking Event and Trade Show
As effective of some digital approaches to finding prospects are good old
networking should still be essential part of your routine. Engage with people
face to face, tell them about yourself, your business and your product and
ask about them. Exchange contact detail, add them to your data base and
keep in touch.
6. Customer Referrals
Make existing customers your brand ambassadors. The cost of retaining
customer is lower than that of acquiring a new one, loyal customer tend to buy
more and spend more. So treat them well and they will recommend you. Word
of mouth is one of the most powerful tools that any business can employ
to attract prospect, so make sure your client have something good to say
about you.
7. Email
3

Use emails, follow ups and automated communication to keep in touch with
your prospect and turn them into solid leads. Expand your audience and get
your message across to more people, nurture leads and navigate them
through sales funnel using targeted content distributed via email. The best
thing about email is that it can be use together with other tools such as social
media or networking event.
8. Optimize your website
Chance are that your website will be the first point of contact between a
prospective customer and your business. So make sure that your website live
up to the task. Make the whole experience user friendly, check if it is easy to
find information and the navigation on the website is good, use key words and
do not forget the sign up form. Make sure every page gives the option to the
visitor to sign up to receive your content.
9. Dont Ignore the Small Stuff
Some of the way you can find prospect are so small that we tend to omit
them, but we should not. For example do you have a fish bowl

on your

counter where people can put their business cards if they want to receive
communication from you? Do you have a call to such action such as Give us
a call now or visit our website today in your email signature.
10. Focus on Long Term Relationship
It is easy to focus on where your next sale is coming from, but unless you
have a long term vision and orientation. You finding prospect that would
potentially turn into leads and then sales, but do not forget that during that
time you are also nurturing a relationship. A relationship between you and a
prospective customer, and ideally you would like them to stay with you for the
long run, not just purchase and go. If nurtured well, a large proportion of your
prospect can turn into valuable leads.

ICT in Education
ICT is the Information and Communication Technologies. ICT in Education
means Teaching and Learning with ICT
4

ICT

is

the

integration

of

information

processing,

computing

and

communication technologies. ICT is changing the way we learn, work and live
in society and are often spoken of in a particular context, such as in
education, health care, or libraries. A good way to think about ICT is to
consider all the uses of digital technology that already exist to help individuals,
businesses and organizations use information. ICT covers any product that
will store, retrieve, manipulate, transmit or receive information electronically in
a digital form and is concerned with these products. Importantly, it is also
concerned with the way these different uses can work with each other. For
example, personal computers, digital television, email, robots.

Figure 1 Sources of ICT

Educational ICT tools can be divided into 3 categories: Input source, Output
source and Others.
Worldwide research has shown that ICT can lead to improved student
learning and better teaching methods. A report made by the National Institute
of Multimedia Education in Japan, proved that an

increase in student

exposure to educational ICT through curriculum integration has a significant

and positive impact on student achievement, especially in terms of
"KnowledgeComprehension" "Practical skill" and "Presentation skill" in
subject areas such as mathematics, science, and social study.
However, you can see that there are many education technology solutions
provided in the world which may cause confusion among educators about
how to choose the right ICT solution. Let's have a look at the advantages and

disadvantages of ICT tools for education and discover what kind of education
ICT solution is suitable for your school needs.
MAIN ADVANTAGES OF ICT TOOLS FOR EDUCATION

Through ICT, images can easily be used in teaching and improving the

retentive memory of students.

Through ICT, teachers can easily explain complex instruction and

ensure students comprehension.

Through ICT, teachers are able to create interactive classes and make
the lessons more enjoyable, which could improve student attendance
and concentration.

MAIN DISADVANTAGES OF ICT TOOLS FOR EDUCATION

Setting up the devises can be very troublesome.

Too expensive to afford.
Hard of teachers to use with a lack of experience using ICT tools.

The role of Information Technology in Education

Information technology in education has improved communication. In

regions that were once thought hard to reach such as places in subSaharan Africa are now accessible through eLearning. Tutors can
lecture learners over long distances and scholars can achieve their
academic papers through eLearning. Also, students that feel like

studying from home can now do it.

Advancement of information technology in education has improved
research. There are very many online libraries that assist teachers and
students with comprehensive reading materials. Teachers and lecturers

are also able to post their work online for their students to read.
With thorough research, students also get updated information. Every
change made in the syllabus is always revised through the internet.
Students can also check what units they are to cover in a semester
through the internet.

Information technology in education has improved and has also

brought about an easy access to different learning resources. They
help to improve teaching skills and learning abilities of students. These
learning resources include audio and visual education. Students are
taught with projectors in classrooms or lectured through class
speakers. Students and teachers can also easily download eBooks
from the internet which can be read from anywhere through your phone

or tablet.
Through eLearning, students can now study whenever they want.
There are no fixed timetables so people from different time zones can
now do the same courses in the same academic institute. Students can
also take their examinations whenever they want with time provided to

them.
For children with disabilities, information technology in education has
brought gadgets to help them with learning. For instance, the hearing
impaired use electronic devices called hearing aids. They can also use
visual learning where sign language is used on electronic media to
enhance communication. This has been a role of information

technology in education.
Combined learning is also improved. Information technology in
education has made it possible for learners to have study groups.
Students can now create combined ideas, solve problems and learn

more through group studies and academic forums online.

The incorporation of information technology in education has brought
so many positive changes. More academic systems should embrace
technology because it makes teaching more effective and aids in
practical learning. Students should also embrace it because in the
future, most of the jobs will be technologically based. With time,
everyone will see the significance of information technology in
education.

The purpose of this training was to have practical experience of working within
the organization, in the field of marketing and have to exposure to the
important management practices in field of marketing.
While writing this report the language has been keep simple and the entire
discussion has been logical and has coherent outlines. The main motto of the
project work was a prospect finding for My Class Campus App at Career
Khojj in Surat region. It includes through market research in various features
of My Class Campus App provide by Career Khojj.
And in detail prospect response analysis, by surveying number of prospects.
The project report is divided into two parts, first part consist market research
for finding out awareness of E learning application and its benefits, and
second parts consist survey report of various prospect response about need
and usage of My class Campus App towards Career Khojj.
This project report is all about market research to find out prospectus for My
Class Campus App at Career Khojj in Surat city. And to measure the
prospectus readiness to adopt My Class Campus App. The market research
helps Career Khojj about their application are beneficial to institute or not.

Chapter 2 Industry Profile

(A) Global
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) play an increasingly
important role in the way we communicate, learn and live.
The challenge is to effectively harness these technologies in a way that
serves the interests of learners and the larger teaching/learning community.
UNESCO considers that ICTs can contribute to universal access to education,
equity in education, the delivery of quality learning and teaching, teachers
professional development as well as improve education management,
governance and administration provided the right mix of policies, technologies
and capacities are in place.

UNESCO takes a comprehensive approach to ICTs in education. It is through

the Organizations Intersectional Platform that it focuses on the joint work of
the Communication and Information, Education and Science Sectors where
the issues of access, inclusion, equity and quality in education can be
addressed.

UNESCO - its country and regional offices as well as institutes in

collaboration with its partners, develops resources that can help countries
elaborate effective ICTs in education policies, strategies and activities. This
includes ensuring that strategies meet the challenges caused by the digital
divide and the most disadvantaged populations.

Its programme includes:

Capacity building and policy advice for the use of technologies in

education, particularly in emerging domains such as mobile learning

Ensuring that teachers have the skills necessary to use ICTs in all
aspects of their professional practice through tools such as the ICT
Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT CFT)

Supporting the use and development of multilingual educational

resources and software which are available for use and re-use as a
result of open licenses (open educational resources OER; free and
open source software FOSS)

Promoting ICTs for inclusive education, including for persons with

disabilities and gender equality

Collecting statistics and developing indicators on the use of ICTs in

education

10

Providing policy support to ensure that the potential of ICTs are

harnessed effectively throughout the education system.

The UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education

(IITE), based in Moscow, specializes in information exchange, research
and training on the integration of ICTs in education.

UNESCOs Bangkok office is notably involved in ICTs for Education in

Asia and the Pacific.

UNESCO works with the educational community worldwide Ministries

of Education, specialised institutions, teachers, and of course learners to effectively leverage the potential of ICTs in order to benefit quality
teaching and learning.

For developing countries ICTs have the potential for increasing access to
and improving the relevance and quality of education. It thus represents a
potentially equalizing strategy for developing countries.

ICTs greatly facilitate the acquisition and absorption of knowledge,

offering developing countries unprecedented opportunities to enhance
educational systems, improve policy formulation and execution, and
widen the range of opportunities for business and the poor. One of the
greatest hardships endured by the poor, and by many others who live
in the poorest countries, is their sense of isolation. The new
communications technologies promise to reduce that sense of
isolation, and to open access to knowledge in ways unimaginable not
long ago

ICTs

are

potentially

powerful

tool

for

extending

educational

opportunities, both formal and non-formal, to previously underserved

constituenciesscattered and rural populations, groups traditionally
excluded from education due to cultural or social reasons such as
ethnic minorities, girls and women, persons with disabilities, and the
11

elderly, as well as all others who for reasons of cost or because of time
constraints are unable to enroll on campus.

Anytime, anywhere. One defining feature of ICTs is their ability to

transcend time and space. ICTs make possible asynchronous learning,
or learning characterized by a time lag between the delivery of
instruction and its reception by learners. Online course materials, for
example, may be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. ICT-based
educational delivery (e.g., educational programming broadcast over
radio or television) also dispenses with the need for all learners and the
instructor to be in one physical location. Additionally, certain types of
ICTs, such as teleconferencing technologies, enable instruction to be
received simultaneously by multiple, geographically dispersed learners

(i.e., synchronous learning).

Access to remote learning resources. Teachers and learners no longer
have to rely solely on printed books and other materials in physical
media housed in libraries (and available in limited quantities) for their
educational needs. With the Internet and the World Wide Web, a
wealth of learning materials in almost every subject and in a variety of
media can now be accessed from anywhere at anytime of the day and
by an unlimited number of people. This is particularly significant for
many schools in developing countries, and even some in developed
countries, that have limited and outdated library resources. ICTs
alsofacilitate

access

to

resource

persons

mentors,

experts,

researchers, professionals, business leaders, and peersall over the

world.

(B) National
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in schools have been
subsumed in the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA). Now ICT in
Schools is a component of the RMSA. The Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) in Schools was launched in December, 2004 and revised in
2010 to provide opportunities to secondary stage students to mainly build their
capacity on ICT skills and make them learn through computer aided learning
process. The Scheme is a major catalyst to bridge the digital divide amongst
students of various socio economic and other geographical barriers. The
Scheme provides support to States/UTs to establish computer labs on
sustainable basis.
The ICT School Scheme of the Department of School Education and
Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, was launched in the
year 2004 05 and revised in December 2010. To facilitate holistic
planning and implementation in schools as well as optional utilization of
funds available under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme, the erstwhile

(D) PESTEL
A PESTEL analysis is a describes a framework of macro-environmental
factors

used

in

the environmental

scanning component

of

strategic

management. It is a part of the external analysis when conducting a strategic

analysis or doing market research, and gives an overview of the different
macro-environmental factors that the company has to take into consideration.
It is a useful strategic tool for understanding market growth or decline,
business position, potential and direction for operations.
PESTLE analysis is an important tool in the educational sector has it makes it
possible to improve the process of decision making. This is especially true if
you take into consideration world demands are changing and there is a need
to ensure education matches up to these changing needs. It also helps focus
on the bigger picture of future education.
In the education sector, this analysis also makes it possible to determine
environment changes that might impact the planning, management and future
36

financing of the industry. The following is an outline of the political, economic,

social, technology and environment factors that affect and influence the
education industry.

(E) Current Trend

In recent years, India has witnessed a steady rise in the sales of laptops,
smartphones, touch pads, iPads, ePads, and other digital gadgets. It bears
testimony to the fact that our country is slowly but steadily getting tech-savvy.
According to a report published by an Indian university, the number of mobile
internet users in the country is expected to reach 160 million by the end of
2015.
The success of education technologies has swept across the country. Further,
with the incumbent Indian governments much-touted Digital India initiative,
the use and popularity of these technologies are expected to gain momentum.
The latest top six trends in education technologies in India are as follows:
Digital learning
38

Digital learning is one of the top trends being witnessed in the Indian
education sector. Nowadays, more and more schools are increasingly
embracing digital learning. Interestingly, this trend is no more confined to
metros and tier-II cities only. Schools in rural India are now also harnessing
the benefits of interactive whiteboards, animated and quality contents and
various digital teaching and learning tools.
M Learning
As per reports, over 150 million students in our country access internet using
their mobile phones. Given this whopping number of mobile internet users,
most of the websites are now available in a mobile-friendly version, with their
resolution and interface being reduced significantly. Further, the availability of
free Wi-Fi facility has led to an increase in the number of mobile internet
users.
Mobile Learning enables students to learn and get academic support through
mobile devices. The best part of m Learning is that it facilitates learnercentric learning. More specifically, it enables students to access information
as per their individual requirements in order to meet their own educational
objectives.
In rural India where many people cannot afford computers and laptops, M
Learning through Smartphones is empowering them to access online
educational content.
App-based learning
Now students to install apps even for the purpose of learning. More and more
window and android-based educational applications are turning up to facilitate
the teaching-learning process. By installing these apps, students can also get
easy access to lots of educational websites.
Learning with ePad/iPad

39

Another growing trend observed in educational technologies in India is

learning with the help of ePad and iPad. In our country, obtaining a tablet PC
is no more a utopian dream, as its cost has decreased drastically in recent
years. Now, you can purchase a tablet PC for as low as Rs. 3,500. Further,
several tablets PC manufacturers have started embedding their PC with
diversified educational materials. Some of them include assessments,
tutorials and different types of educational contents. Further, iPad and ePad
are now increasingly being used in various competitive exams, including IIT,
JEE, GMAT, and GRE.
Interactive self-assessment
These days, many educational institutions are coming up with various
interactive self-assessment solutions. Mainly available in CD and DVD
formats, these solutions comprise a vast repository of academic papers of
previous years. Considered as great self-learning tools, these solutions
enable students to prepare themselves for exams, evaluate their performance
on their own, and find out the areas of improvement.
Online educational forums
Last but not the least; online educational forums are also gaining prominence
as a potent educational technology medium. These forums facilitate a close
collaboration between students and teachers. Here, students can easily
connect with teachers to discuss various subjects and topics. Further,
students can share and exchange ideas with peers and gain better
understanding of any subject and topic. Above all, these forums have given a
facelift to the age-old concept of collaborative and cooperative learning.

40

(F) Major players

The Indian education companies are providing customized education as per
the requirements and expectations of the students as well as their

advanced education is predominantly IT-based, which can be accessed from
any part of the world. Whether you have a broadband connection, Wi-Fi
internet services or mobile internet, you can get quality education from
anywhere and anytime. This is the reason why the importance of e-learning
courses and facilities is increasing at such a fast pace. Education companies

(G) Major Offering

ICT in education offers service that can add value to providing strategy
architecture implementation and integration with following services to
increase the literacy level.

Mobile Learning. New advances in hardware and software are making mobile
smart phones indispensible tools. Just as cell phones have leapfrogged
fixed line technology in the telecommunications industry, it is likely that mobile
devices with internet access and computing capabilities will soon overtake
personal computers as the information appliance of choice in the classroom.

Cloud computing applications are increasingly moving off of the stand

alone desk top computer and increasingly onto server farms accessible
through the Internet. The implications of this trend for education
systems are huge; they will make cheaper information appliances
available which do not require the processing power or size of the PC.
The challenge will be providing the ubiquitous connectivity to access

information sitting in the cloud.

Personalized learning. Education

systems

are

increasingly

investigating the use of technology to better understand a students

knowledge base from prior learning and to tailor teaching to both
address learning gaps as well as learning styles. This focus transforms
a classroom from one that teaches to the middle to one that adjusts
content and pedagogy based on individual student needs both strong

and weak.
Smart portfolio assessment. The collection, management, sorting, and
retrieving of data related to learning will help teachers to better
understand learning gaps and customize content and pedagogical
approaches. Also, assessment is increasingly moving toward frequent
formative assessments which lend itself to real-time data and less on
high-pressure exams as the mark of excellence. Tools are increasingly
available to students to gather their work together in a kind of online

45

portfolio; whenever they add a tweet, blog post, or photo to any online
service, it will appear in their personal portfolio which can be both peer

and teacher assessed.

Instant Access to Educational Information technology speeds the
transfer and distribution of information. Students can easily access
academic data using computers and new technologies like mobile
phone application. IT experts have coded educational applications
which can be used by students to access information very fast. These
mobile phone applications are replacing some old
methods like borrowing of books in libraries, now days students can
use Library mobile phone applications to download books inform of ebooks, so they have these books at any time which saves them time
and helps them read at any time anywhere.

Long Distance learning Information technology enables students

across the globe to study from anywhere through online education.
This has been possible due to the wide spread of cheap broadband
internet in both developed and non-developed countries. Unlike in the
past, when some courses used to be provided in developed countries,
so for a student to study those courses they had to go through the
hassle of moving from their home country which was to expensive.
Now days, a student can have access to these courses online. Many
universities have opened their educational curriculum to the world. So
at a small fee, a student can be part of that university. These students
do the same exams and are marked by the same teachers.
