the National Day of Peace. Did you feel at
peace? Did you do anything to try to make or
keep the peace? We are all searching in so
many ways for peace yet it seems to elude so

world, yours and mine, then Im afraid it will
continue to slip through our grasp. The first
definition, according to Webster, is a state of
tranquillity or quiet. It goes on to include civic
community and personal relationships. Im
afraid that as long as there is more than one
person on earth, there will be some discord.
Theres always been differing views about
how to bring about peace. Sometimes you
hear people promoting peace in sort of a Que
Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) sort of
way. Ive heard a reacurring theme of pursuing peace by way leaving everyone to his own
ideas and standards.
Im afraid that the let it be plan doesnt work
for those of us who have submitted to Christ.
OH! there is a word that promotes peace!
SUBMIT While we are not called to shout
out the wrongs of others, we must speak in
love the truth that submitting to the authority
of God is our only true hope.
Theres a popular magician that says Christianity keeps people oppressed. It may seem
that way to people when they hear the message that we are to submit our individual
wants and desires to Gods will. What we find,
however, is that God really has the best plan
and will give us a peace in our hearts even in
the chaos of the world. After all, He knows the
future and I think thats a much better qualification than I have for guiding my life.
