QUALITY STANDARDS

FOR
SPREADING & CUTTING
1.) MARKER PLACEMENT:
CHECK THAT THE MARKER IS PLACED ON THE
SPREAD WIDTH THE EDGE PARALLEL TO THE
SELVADGE OF THE PIECES GOODS.
VERIFY THAT ALL CUT PIECES SHOULD BE
COMPLETE.
2.) SHADING:
CHECK FOR SPREADING UNLESS ALL PARTS ARE
FLY MARKED. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO HAVE A
SYSTEM TO CONTROL SHADING.
3.) TABLE MARKS:
CHECK FOR THE TABLE MARK AS THE TABLE IS
MARKED. ALLOW NO MINUS TOLERANCE FOR
THE SPLICES.
4.) MARKERS:
ENSURE THAT NO MARKER IS CREASED
DAMAGED OR HAS OVERLAPPED PARTS.
5.) SPLICES:
AFTER COMPLEION OF THE SPREAD, CHECK

SPLICE LAPS TO SEE THAT BOTH PLIES EXTEND


PART THE MARKED SPLICE BY NOT LESS THAN
AND NOT MORE THAN 1.
6.) COUNT:
CHECK THE COUNT AFTER COMPLETION OF
SPREADING AND BEFORE CUTTING. COUNT ALL
PLIES AT BOTH ENDS. THERE IS NO TOLERANCE.
7.) TENSION:
CHECK FOR TENSION DURING SPREADING. THIS
IS VERY IMPORTANT.
8.) LEANING:
CHECK CAREFULLY TO ENSURE THAT ONE EDGE
OF THE FABRIC IS SQUARE TO THE TABLE TOP.
9.) MISCUT:
CHECK FOR THE MISCUT OR THE FABRIC OF
THE CUTTER TO SPLIT THE LINE. TOL IS 1/6.
REPORT ALL DEFECTS FOR MISCUT TO THE
CUTTING SUPERVISOR.
10.) MATCHING PLIES:
CHECK THE TOP PLY WITH THE BOTTOM PLY,
COMPARE BOTH TO A HARD PATTERN OR THE
PAPER MARKER. TOL IS +- 1/8, REPORT EACH
DEFECT TO THE CUTTING SUPERVISOR.

11.) RAGGED CUTTING:


THIS IS A JUDGEMENT DEFECT. IT IS MORE
IMPORTANT ON CRITICAL PARTS. IF THE PART
HAS TO RECUT IT IS A DEFECT.
12.) NOTCHES:
CHECK THE NOTCES LOCATION BY PLACING
THE PATTERN OVER TOP PLY. THE NOTCHES
SHOULD NOT EXCEED 1/8.
13.) PATTERN CHECK:
COMPARE THE PATTERN TO MAKER PAPER TO
ENSURE THAT THE MARKER WAS CORRECT.
