A TALE OF REVENGE

There was once a creature

As lonely as could be.
He was small and lithe
With eyes of forest green.

He was imprisoned for a crime

And long forgotten in time.
He was forced down from Heaven
By the Forever Divine.

This was the price he paid

For exacting his revenge
On those who had massacred
His beloved family and friends.

His righteous and vengeful quest

Revealed a web of deceit and lies.
He cared not for the blood that spilled
Nor the traitorous men that fell.
He fought his enemies with all his strength;
His anger abated; his revenge sated.
When his rampage ended, he began to mourn
The dear comrades he had lost forever.

He cried and wailed

Upon his friends graves;
Shattering tranquillity
Under the Goddesss wrathful gaze.

The murderous deed was done;

He left behind a scene of carnage.
But for this sin he committed,
He was certainly not forgiven.

This perpetrator was apprehended

And accused of high treason.
He was struck down immediately
By the Goddesss mighty hand.

For the fear he had planted

And the lives he had taken,
To Earth he was exiled for eternity
Far from the sacred land he loved.

And till this day he lives

In a cave held by stone
At the peak of a cold mountain;
Forever alone.
