Tell me about yourself:

First of all I would like to thank you for coming to our campus mam and calling me for interview. I
am right now pursuing my pre-final year of mechanical engineering. During my middle school I really
loved my science classes and from then on my interest kept on increasing. My passion for machines
and automobiles made me pursue a career in the mechanical engineering.
Personal achievements: 10th science and maths marks. (Educational qualifications, academic and cocurricular activities + add details).
On the academic front I have consistently been a good student with an 81% in 10 th standard and
79.33% in PCM in 12th standard. I am involved in sports from beginning and I love playing at
volleyball. My current CGPA is 8.14 and along with it I also have been involved in a various
extracurricular events. I have organised many events and workshops during our college cultural and
technical fests (gravitas and riveria). From these I acquired leadership abilities.
Also sir I am involved in a lot of social clubs and activities going on and around campus. Under
National Service Scheme we went to alangayam village(near vaniyambadi famous for leather
industries) and stayed there for 7 days. We visited the govt school and thaught childrens about higher
studies and possible careers they can pursue. Also I have been a regular volunteer in blood donation
camps and other activities like going in health club. Presently I am a member of juvenile care which is
again an NGO and we visit Don bosco school on weekends.
Hopefully somewhere in the future all my co-curricular activities as well as academics will provide
me a great future in my professional career.

How do you feel motivated?

I would say I would motivate myself all the time. I keep throwing challenges at myself and I keep
proving myself that I am good at whatever I am doing. But my family and friends had been the
greatest support and I couldnt do it without them. For an example during the past year gravitas I was
organising a workshop on 3D animation software. And during that time I continusly worked for three
days with just 4 hrs of sleep every night. But the zeel to conduct the workshop kept me motivated.

Why should we hire you/ what are your strengths?

I think whatever I am today is because I have achieved a lot of analytical and leadership experience
from my past college experience. I can easily adopt to new environments and I am always looking up
for fresh challenges. I am so sure of that because I have lead many successful events and projects and
I know I can perform this job successfully, you will never regret that you hired me. I am positiveminded and believe in continuous learning and improvement. I also believe in getting out of my

comfort zone and achieving the best in whatever I do. Although I have not much experience in
automobile field but I'm willing to learn anything. I'll do my best to be an asset of your company.
You should hire me because I can adapt to any situation and work atmosphere, Im very flexible.
I can deal with different people and can do tasks beyond the limit of my expertise. This aspect would
help me to become a productive employee of your company.
you should hire me because I am a result oriented person, fully dedicated to my work. I am also a
person to be trusted, honest and reliable. Team work is my best attribute. I want to prove I am the best
at what I do. I am not afraid to ask questions and learn from every mistake.
You should hire me because I have done my research on your company and I learned that this
company is mostly working on ....... You should mention these areas and say that they are is closely
related to your abilities and strengths, like leadership.

What is your weakness?

I commit myself to things that I dont wanna be a part of. I have made a concioused effort to stay
focussed. I start making memos in my phone to priotiorise my work. I have been told that I am
extremely analytical in my thinking because I need a lot of valida data to come to a conclusion. I do
realise that certain situations where we need minium info and min data to come to a concludion I
would say that this trait is something that I would not give up but I would try to apply it more
judiciously.

You do not have all the experience we are seeking for this
position:
I realize I may not have all the experience. However, we all start from scratch. And its not about how
much I know, its about how much can I learn here. I have a passion to learn and Im sure I can do it.I
have most of the qualities needed for this role and for the remaining I am always open to learning
them. For example when I went to Ashok Leyland.

Have you ever made a mistake at work? How did you rectify it?
Yes. There have been times when I have made mistakes and I learnt from them.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I would like to be 10 times more effective then now. I would like to see myself in a responsible
position where I can make important decisions in the favour of company and the company treats me
as its asset.

How do you feel about doing repetitive work?

Repetitive work can get boring at times. However, the more we practice, the better we get. If my work demands me to do
repetitive work, I will do it.

Do you have any work experience?

Not really but if you consider Internship as work ex then 2

How do you qualify for the job?

Although I am technically qualified for the job muy contributition will mostly be in the form of my
individuality and thought process. I believe it will be a lot of learing process for me in the initial phase
and in time I will be able to absorb and make larger contribution to the company. I understand cultural
sensitivities because I moved a lot when growing up and in work with different people with different
backgrounds. This will prove to be probably very helpful to a global organisation like yours. More
Importantly I am very confident that I can lead a small team in your company. How : organised events
donate blood during camp. SO effective leader. Can do hardwork,

What is your greatest achievement?

Tell about internship success and you rewarded. It boosted my moral.

Are you ambitious?

Yes. I am extremely ambitious. I feel one has no goal in life if there is no ambition. Ambition helps to
succeed. I dont like to sit idle. I want that I should always be getting new experiences and learning
new things.

Would you like to work in a team or on your own?

I dont have any such preference. I can comfortably handle both the situations. As I has handled both
in last year gravitas.

What would you do if your team ceased to perform?

I will try to establish the reasons for non-performance of the team and try to eradicate them.

a wonderful process of rotating employees I the department and from my seniors I learned that by

challenge. Thats what keep me energised and focused on what I am doing.
My father and mother are both in government so my family kept on moving frequently and as a result
I have been across 5 different schools. And this become a blessing In disguise actually. It helped me
opening my mind, I had better cultural sensitivity, which I feel is very very essential for any
organisation. It also helped to adapt to various kind of environment around me. I would also like to
say that I am a simple person with easy going nature. I make friends easily but I get alog with
anybody.

Yes I would like to ask which kind of department you will allot to us during internship.

From the beginning of my third semester I have a keen interest in material engineering. It begins with
the Material engineering and technology subject. I was given the project for Researched and analysed
the surface coating of aluminium using electrolytic etchant under material engineering and
technology. Our faculty asked us to read papers from sciencedirect.com and during that time I used to
read a lot of scientific papers from science direct.com and that gave me a deep understanding of the
material engineering technology. Then the second phase came when I opted for Surface engineering.
During that time I emphasised more on nano crystalline coatings. Then I prepared a paper for
presentation in the 16th SSPC conference (Symposium for surface protective coatings). The abstract
got selected for the symposium and then we read about these in details. I learned that India lacks far
behind in the field of research in surface coatings. We worked for increasing the surface hardness of
high speed cutting tools and drill bit coatings.

My most recent experience was my internship in Ashok Leyland which taught me the basic skills such
as time management punctuality, office ethics and sincerity.
I was appreciated for my dedication and my regularity towards work by my mentor and HR head.
Among the other trainees my reports were the best. My main strength is my commitment to work
which was evident in my reports.

What I am looking for is a company that values knowledge, team work and will provide me with a
platform to transform the knowledge that I learned in practical areas.
