In preparation for the 2016 Regional Science Fair, DepEd, Division of Dumaguete City will conduct the 2016

Division Science Fair on September 29 to October 1,2016.
The theme for this year's celebration is "AGRINNOVATE: Revolutionizing Agricultural Outlook for

Sustainable Growth."
Enclosed is the list of activities and Science Fair Skills to be contested with the respective Contest

Guidelines, AdministratorslCoordinators, Board of Judges, and Working Committees and the Registration Form,

A school and district elimination for the Science Investigatory Projects and SlMs shall be held not later
than September 16, 2016 to identify entries to participate in the Division level. The first top two winners for each
category in the district elimination shall qualify to compete in the 2016 Division Science Fair.

A hard and a soft copy of the research paper must be submitted for the pre-judging on or before Sept. 23,
2016, (ATTN: Mrs. Antonieta P. Vendiola, EPS, Science). Soft copies can be sent through email address at
antonietapvendiola@~mail.comor at antonieta.vendiola@deped.gov.ph.
There will be a final planning conference of School Science Coordinators on Sept. 2, 2016, Friday at

A registration fee of Php 50.00 shall be collected from each contestant and Php 35.00 for the campers to
defray expenses chargeable against school MOOE, PTP., and other school funds subject to the usua! accounting and
auditing rules and regulations. Deadline for the pre-registration of contestantslcampers will be on or before
September 26,2016 c/o Mrs. Gerardina R. Rendoque.

GUIDELINES FOR THE ELEMENTARY SCIENCE QUlZ BOWL


GRADE JV, V, AND VI
1. The contest is open to all public and private elementary schools in Dumaguete City. Participating schools may send only one team,
composed of three (3) bonafide pupils, one (1) grade four pupil, one (1) grade five pupil and one (1) grade six pupil.
2. There shall be four (4) rounds for all categories: Easy, Average, Difficult and Clincher. There shall be ten (10) easy questions, five
(5) average questions, and five (5) difficult questions. All teams shall answer in the three rounds. Each correct answer in every round
will be given corresponding points, with its equivalent time allotment to wit:

3. Each team shall bring their own Black Card with a chalk for them to write their answers.
4. The quizmaster shall read each question twice and the time shall start only after the quizmaster says "go". The team may begin to
answer after the quizmaster says "go".
5. The teams must write their final answer on the black card. If a team wishes to change their answer, the former answer should be
erased and the final answer be written.
6. All answers must be spelled correctly to be considered correct.
7. After the time limit, a bell rings. Each team must raise and show their answer to the Board of Judges before the quizmaster reads the
correct answer. Proctors shall read and acknowledge whether the answer of each team is correct or not.
8. If the proctor canno? determine the validity of an answer, the Board of Judges must decide on the matter. The decision of the
Board of Judges is FINAL.
9. Scores will be added after each round. The team with the highest final score shall be declared as the first place winner, the second
highest, second place winner and the third highest, as the third place winner and so on.
10. In case of a tie, a clincher round will be answered between or among the teams with equal scores. The first team who can answer
the clincher question correctly will be declared the winner (do or die).
11, The duly registered coach of the team is the oniy person authorized to raise a protest. No protest shati be entertained by the Board
of Judges when the quizmaster has started reading the next question.

GRADE 7,8,9 AND 10
1. The contest is open to all public and private secondary schools in Dumaguete City. Participating schools may send only one team,
composed of four (4) bonafide students, one (1) grade seven student, one (1) grade eight student, (1) grade nine student and one (1)
grade ten student.
2. There shall be four (4) rounds for all categories: Easy, Average, Difficult and Clincher. There shall be ten (10) easy questions, five
(5) average questions, and five (5) difficult questions. All teams shall answer in the three rounds. Each correct answer in every round
