Abstract
This paper presents an investigation to the
characteristics and the aerodynamic performance
of very flexible aircrafts (VFA), as well as
provides several control strategies to change the
shapes actively. Comparisons are made in terms
of aerodynamic performance of different shapes
of VFAs which are induced from albatross fight.
The notion that to fly a VFA like an albatross is
discussed based on the feasibility and
deformation strategies.
