Week ( 4 ) :

At the third week again I meet eng.Majed and I learned from him
about plate parting section. After detecting the plates then will send
them to the plate parting for brushing and parting the plates.
At third week also I meet eng .Mani Ranjan kumar from injection
molding plant. He taught me about this department and he said there
a lot of different molding and he said the main raw material input that
are master batch, low density polyethylene (LDPE) and Polypropylene.
Also there are 15 injection molding machine which are, two grinning,
three mixer, three (950TUN), two (800TUN), one (350TUN, four
(210TUN) and five (80TUN). Each of these machine has its work such
as; some of them making covers, others making container and others
making handles and vent plugs. In addition he told me the main
process for injection molding which are:
1) Inject molten plastic
5) mold close

2) cool down

3) mold open

4) eject

Week ( 5 ):
At the fourth week I met eng.Vinoth Thangam from assembly
department. He taught me about all process in the assembly
department which are six processes. First process was Enveloping
there are different size of separators that use for enveloping and the
separators height shall be as per the displayed figure in the section so,
only negative plates will envelope.
Second process was Cast On Strap unloading (COS). There
shall be meniscus in the strap and lug impression mark shall not be
visible on the top surface of the strap. Also, flashes and talls shall be
removed from the surface after casting and the temperature of mould
should be grater than 60.
Third process was Inter Cell Wilding tester (ICW). In this
process will check if the positive and negative are connected. Hot weld
and cold weld in inter cell connections are not allowed and the spite
out groups shall be removed immediately. Also, weld strength shall be
adequate (grater than 50 inch pound).

Fourth process was Heat Sealing Operation. In this process the

battery shall qualify when subjected to short circuit tester and cover
polarity shall be ensured and melt pattern shall be uniform.
Fifth process was Post Burning Operation. In this process the
top of the terminals shall be 3 to 4 mm below the top of the bush.
Final process was packaging. Appropriate carton shall be used
for packing the battery and check for vent plugs.

Week ( 6 ):

At the fifth week I met eng.Ahmed from MF department. He

taught me about all processes in this department. First process was
filling Batteries with sulfuric acid and be sure that acid is in the limit.
After filling charge Batteries inside the room and put water inside the
room to cool the batteries and the time for charging doesn't depending
on the size of Battery so, for big Battery do not necessary takes more
time and same for the small one.. After charging check if the sulfuric
acid is at the limit inside the Batteries if not fill them until reach the
limit. Then put covers and press them on the Batteries. After that
check the battery if it is ok will pass otherwise if not will removed. Then
put magic eye to check for sulfuric acid inside the Batteries. After that
pass the Batteries through washing tunnel with water spray for

removal of acid on the Batteries surface. Then using separate brushes

for positive and negative terminal polishing before pass it on the HRD
tester.

Week7:
In the week seven, I have meet mr.parkash .he teach me about
the maintenance department and how effective it is .in the
maintenance section ,the all parts and most of the breakdown,
equipment are ,maintained in this section. They having different type
of maintenance. Prior maintenance, were they maintain the equipment
before it breakdown, instant maintenance were they do immediately
fixing for very important machine in the site, they using a lot of various
equipment in this section.
In the same week I have meet ,mr.sivadas. from the technical
department.in the technical dep. they putting the standard for the all

process of batteries production, from the first processes to which is the

grid casting to the final process in the mf dep.
They specified the conditions that fit with the international
standards like the temperature .pressure, current, voultage, humideaty.
All what is make the unique competitive advance.
