HISTORY
Co-founded by Pam Borton and Linda Hopkins, the genesis of
TeamWomenMN started in the spring of 2011. Pam Borton, a the winningest head womens
basketball coach in University of Minnesota history, was invited to be the keynote speaker
for the Women in Business Awards Luncheon sponsored by the Minneapolis/St. Paul
Business Journal honoring 50 top women executives.
As Borton delivered her inspiring and emotional speech on the life lessons her studentathletes learned daily, her message resonated loud and clear women need to support
women. In her presentation to encourage and support women in reaching their full
potential, she emphasized that society needs more women in leadership! Women need to
help other women become successful. And, young women and girls need mentorship as
well.
On the heels of delivering this moving and motivational message and with the support of
many of the women who received awards that day believers came together and launched
TeamWomenMN.
Pam Borton continues her leadership and commitment as President of
TeamWomenMN. She is the author of ON Point, sharing her insights from
coaching to help all leaders excel under pressure, build exceptional teams
and achieve success.
