Keyword: Headmasters leadership style, school based management (MBS)

Leadership is one of the factors that determine the success of the implementation
of school-based management (MBS). A good leadership has impacted to goal the
organization because leader can influence a work of their group.
Increasing of quality education in schools organization had
headmasters leadership quality. The purposes of this study are:

1). Goals of this study is to know headmasters leadership style at SMP Plus Fajar
Sentosa
2). to know how much effort the headmaster's leadership against MBS at SMP Plus
Fajar Sentosa
3). This study has taken literature style of leadership and MBS on an academic
perspective
4). In term of practical, result of this research can be used as a guideline for
headmasters
5). As one of alternative solution for education quality problem.

Populations on this study are headmaster, teachers, administrative staff


and school comittee from educators and administrative staff who have fourteen
people quantity. Focus and sub focus on this research are Headmasters Leadership
Style and implementation of school-based management as sub Focus. Method
collected data has used literature study, interview, documentation and observation.
Researcher has used interactive analysis because on qualitative research used
process cycle that researcher always make data reduction and presentation of data
when he collected the data, afterwards the data are collecting as notes in area
which consist of all description and rifflection. Researcher arranged the event data
reduction and continued to arranged presentation data that systematic story. It has
supported by tools such as printer and other document.

Based on research result and discussion of the type of headmasters leadership in


the implementation of school-based management SMP Plus Fajar Sentosa Cileungsi,
researcher concluded:
1; Leadership style of SMP Fajar Sentosa Cileungsi headmasters has categorized
transformed leadership type with characteristics that headmaster build a
commitment to the goals of the organization and give authority to his followers
in the form of trust such as teachers, staff and employee to reach out the goals.
The way of organization is not move by bureaucracy but from collective

consciousness which same with MBS. School authority has an extensive


management and active participation from stakeholder.
2; The role of headmaster in the implementation of school-based management that
includes: Headmaster as leader, manager, educator, motivator, administrator,
supervisor and innovator are very needed to make quality school.
